I do a TON of shopping for soap supplies online and eBates lets you get rebates at nearly every major online retailer, including Amazon, eBay, and Etsy. I literally save money just by opening up a tab in my browser via their link. I have already received a check from them within the first month so I just thought I would let you guys know about this since we soap makers and DIYers buy so much online! Plus, it's free! Yippee! :D

It’s waaay past bedtime but I gotta know how to line soap moulds for my non-existent soap moulds. The addiction is real. Katy you enabler 💙
I love your comment! I too have non-existent soap molds that also require lining.
What she said! 👆🏼😻
@@vcandrewsfan12 same!
😂 cant talk right now, busy lining my non existing soap molds with my pretend liner. 🎉
I would love to see a video of the "clean up". No one ever shows exactly what they do to clean up afterwards. After pouring the lye do you rinse the lye bucket out or do you let it sit till the next day like you do the containers that had soap, etc...? Would love a DETAILED explanation of clean up. Thanks.. love your videos!
I tend to rinse my dishes out in the sink with hot water right after I've made the soap and my gloves are still on. Then I put them in the dishwasher :) easy cleanup!
If I want all those scrapy bits for other projects (sprinkles, etc) then I'll leave them overnight and then finish scraping them out. Lye buckets get rinsed right away as I'm working. If I don't want to or have scraped everything well I'll just wipe it all down with paper towels (glove still on) which makes cleanup easier. Rinse the bowls, etc with hot water (no soap really to worry about clogging the sink) and I'm done. Of course then you need to wash down the kitchen area (I wash the floors, counters, cupboards--often as I'm a bit of a messy soaper at times). What do you do Katie? Great question craftyrat!
Waiting until the next day is a thing!? 😳
@@ttucsok yes some people clean up the next day after the saponification is complete
Sinfully Scented Well shoot, here I am cleaning immediately after like a sucker!
I don’t make soap and never intend to but I watched this whole thing so intrigued! 😂
Finally a tutorial that explains lining a wooden mould that goes easy.
Maybe Kenny could start making and selling those molds? They are brilliant with that opening in the front. It looks like it makes it so much easier to remove the slab. Great job Kenny! Awesome job on the demo for lining the mold too Katie :)Jen
As would I!
I agree, Kenny should make these available for order. He does a great job.
Yes!!!! I fully support this idea!!!!
Yessss I need one ASAP
I buy
If this is for the academy, can you demonstrate how to properly masterbatch oils and/or lye? How about a complete start to finish of a simple batch of soap including safety precautions and reasons, weighing oils, temperature differences and importance, etc. I guess the more technical side of things. How about education on oil properties and recipe making?
Master batch! i watched a few but not certain on some of them.
I really think those things can be found on other channels. Plus Katie DOES have a business to run.
Ije Soronnadi Katie asked what other things we’d like to learn from her..Kendra’s suggestions are awesome. I’d love to see Katie master batching lye and oils.
The soap gal is who katie recommended in another video. Just cant remember which video that was.
@@MommyUvOne so do most people on u tube...maybe she has a different approach. She did ask us.
A cheap tool that might help with the creasing and folding is bookbinding tool called a "Bone folder". They're normally made of plastic now, and are a good tool for putting nice folds into paper. It has a rounded end, a softly pointed end, and a good flat side that can all be used to help fold things around.
Suzanne Bonante a gift card could also be used, but I second the bone folder. Handy little tool that will easily reach deep corners.
Great idea! Being that I don't have nails, this would be perfect. I was trying to remember what they were called a few weeks ago and couldn't, so thanks for the reminder. Heading to Amazon now to find one.
Try a craft store like Joann, Michael's, or Hobby Lobby, since they are also used in card making. And you can use a store coupon (usually 40 percent off regular price).
Kinda sounds like a cuticle thingee
Perfect tools for this; I bought mine at Michael's for origami
My husband made me a soap mold and now I know how to line it. I would like to see a tutorial of your bother showing how to make a soap mold. I really enjoy watching you!
I do not make soap, though excellent video as always. You mentioned what you might do if you don't have fingernails. A pen was an excellent suggestion, but even if this is more information than anyone wanted to know on the subject, as a habitual biter with 25 years of experience I felt obligated to share an alternative. Hair clips are surprisingly versatile and fingernail-esque. The thin metal, slightly curved, teardrop shaped kind. I've been using them in my hair every day as it is in an awkward grow-out phase, so I always have an extra one around. That's how I discovered that they are perfectly suited for all kinds of fingernail tasks such as scraping, prying, picking, and yes, folding. I used one to get the end of tape off the roll and it was so easy I imagined for a moment how nice it would be to stop biting my nails, but it passed. I hope that helps someone out there who is fingernail deficient.
middleC17 That’s a good tip! I used to bite my nails but then I had acrylics done when I was 19. I’m 30 now! I’ve never gone back! It’s a foolproof way to stop biting your nails. By the time I had the acrylics off for the first time (probably a year later) for around a week, the habit was gone. I found I was even less likely to chew on my acrylics because every time I did, I thought about how much they cost and what sacrifice I had to make to pay for them! You’ll be surprised how quickly you loose the habit! Just make sure if you do decide to have them done, that you go to a reputable salon and ensure their system and salon itself is clean. As long as that’s all in order, there is absolutely NO danger with them. My nails are as strong with acrylics as without. If you take care of them and the salon tech knows what they’re doing, there won’t be any problems! Long winded reply - but just thought I’d share my experience with you!
Rachel Puckeridge That’s great! Thanks for sharing!
Girl you show me how so easy! I have watch many people. I can't believe I can do this. Thank you Katie 💘
I don't make soap, I don't want to try making soap, but Katie's voice makes me happy and I've had a bad day so I'm here!
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge! So many people in this community are protective and defensive and afraid of helping. I know it can take some courage and faith to give away hard-earned secrets, and I want you to know how much I appreciate it.
Girl you are a born teacher...I needed this so much...and your SOAPS!!! aint no joke.
I love your channel! While I don't make soap, this tutorial could work for fabric lined/scrapbook paper lined boxes, so that's a bonus! ❤️
This is so satisfying to watch. The folds... the creases. Perfection
Lady you're a life saver. I work for a small business and I get to do these and I suffer when they're not straight or aligned correctly. Thank you!!!!!
Thanks for this! Maybe how you prep your oils, things you wish you knew when you started, your top ten favourite scents/colours/Imbeds? Xoxo
I never noticed your beautiful nails until the last few older videos I've been binge watching. They're gorgeous, your nails that it and also your soap is always gorgeous. 🙏🏴🌺
Oh, thank God you made this video. The best by far on how I've seen to make this liner. One time, I got so mad, I used a plastic trash bag. It did work in a pinch, but this is much better and very simple. Thank-you!
Thank you .. I would love the conversion video . Oz to grams , percentage etc. I know there are several apps out there. Ones you like also Lye calculators . These maybe helpful for new soapers and refresher’s as things change . Thanks so proud of you MiLady
I've been watching your videos very intensely for about a month because I'm really starting to like the idea of making soaps at home and possibly selling them! You're such an inspiration!!!
You always do such a great job explaining everything! Thank you for another wonderfully informative and fun video!!! :D
This has been the best video for lining molds...thank you
I probably will never make soap but I and my mom just love watching your videos.
Im definitely bing watching/rewatching this playlist since im going to start my journey this week!
Holy work! New appreciation when you say "I've already lined my mold". Great explanation!
You can definitely tell Katie is a mama, those directions are on point!!
Katie, where have you been all my life?! You are such a gift!! And I agree with others..... Please ask Kenny to make lots of molds and sell them to us crazy soapers!!
I vote you do a live video answering questions as they are posted. You seen to answer all my questions throughout your videos but i never write anything down and having one spot for it would be great!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! This was the best and easiest tutorial I have seen. You are an absolute star.
Goodness!! That was the BEST tutorial. My FIL made some custom slab molds for me and I have been dreading learning how to line them. Pffffft. What a breeze. Basically was able to follow along almost at video pace. Thanks, Katie!! ♡
This is the best tutorial for lining these boxes. The most dreaded part of my soaping day is now easy peasey. Thank you Katie.
This was really useful even for people who don't make soap, because the principle is the same for lining a baking dish! I've been using parchment paper whenever I make brownies because the cutting and clean-up are so much easier when you can just pull the entire thing out of the pan, but the corners have always been a bit wonky. I'm definitely going to try the "snip until the edge of the box" trick.
How in the world did I miss this video? I HATE lining molds. I just made four molds that will make a total of 300 soaps. I wanted to know the best way to line them. This is a complete breeze!!!! It seriously took less than 3 minutes. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
OMG! Thank you so much for this video. This was by far.....BY FAR! the easiest and clearest step by step tutorial on soap mold lining. I used this method to line a cardboard Amazon box because I just hate waste and hopefully it's a decent mold. But thank you, this was amazingly clear and concise and easy to follow.
In the words of Dave Chappelle playing Rick James...."I wish I had four hands, so I could give this tutorial four thumbs up!"
I just love all the education you give us....thank you so much Katie, from a very beginner soaking up the info..... :)
Katie, you are such a wonderful teacher. You give clear, concise instructions. And your enthusiasm for the subject (soap in this case) is contagious.. You are the Miss Stacey to my soap making. 👒
As a new soapmaker this series of vids is exactly what I’ve been waiting for!!! 😍😍😍
this is the best video I have found about lining the mold. All the other ones were so complicated I just gave up trying to remember lol
Best mold lining video I have ever seen! Thanks!!
EXCELLENT!! Thanks...have watched several but yours and many one other is the most simplistic that I've seen👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽.
I know I'm going to love this series!! I wish she'd do a q & a. I watched an old video of hers and wondered what she does with her old soaping molds.
This video cured my depression. 😂
Thank you so much for being you!! You’re not only such a talented artist / craftsman but also such a lovely, genuine person.
It’s truly a pleasure to listen to you and watch what you do. 😌
This has been one of the best tutorial on lining a soap mold. Thanks a million 💕
This is the best video I have watched. Thanks.
THANK YOU! This just made my life so much easier! No more having soap ooze into the corners :) I would love to see more of these types of "how to with Katie" videos.
This is the easiest and neatest looking way I’ve ever seen to line a mold!! Thanks for sharing, you channel has always so helpful to beginner soap makers 💕☺️
I want to start making and selling soaps so ANYTHING you can video would be greatly appreciated! I've been watching all of you videos this week......PURE TALENT💜💜💜💜
Sue C good luck 👍🏻 🤗😁😁😁
Aren't her videos great?!? Her videos gave me the confidence to start making my own.
Same! I already have a small business but soap making is soooo relaxing and so neat . I really want to learn
Since I have found Katie's channel I am addicted to soap making video's and websites. And I'm determined to start making soap myself, and even start a small business if that is possible.
Never thought about soap making before. But Katie is such a great inspiration!
So every video about making soap is more than welcome!
Thanks Katie. I just made my first wooden mold and your video helped me a lot. Thanks so much.
Love it! Can’t wait for more videos in this series! This one is so detailed and honestly the beat explained so far I’ve seen in the mold lining videos.
This is super helpful! I lined a cardboard box and had never done it before. What a mess! My soap was all crooked and had paper wrinkle marks in it and no two pieces were the same size. This vid is going in my FAVORITES list! Thank you Katie!
I love these tutorials! I’m excited to learn more about the process of soap making that we don’t see in your normal videos!
I LOVE watching tutorials like these! I’m going to learn today uwu
Perfect I have memorized this Freezer paper folding technique it’s awesome
I will never make soap, but I still watched the entire video.
I love your voice and your personality.
Thanks for another great video!
Hi Jen excellent soap lining mold!!
Katie, you are SOoo helpful! I just love how you share these things. I have been making soap for about 3 years now and learned most of what I've done from you. You are friendly and your instructions are clear and I never wonder if there is some hidden catch to things. Thank you for making my hobby so much more fun and doable! :)
I tried to click like about 546 times but apparently once is enough HAHA!
I'm currently scaling up my soap making production to a slab mold, up until I saw this video I was just going to buy one with a silicone mold cause lining one was super intimidating. Now, you have simplified it so much in this video, that I feel confident (I'll watch this a gazillion more times first LOL) I can do it!!
You are forever teaching me so much, Thanks my sudsy friend :)
Awesome and thorough video. Thank you so much for sharing. I am feeling EMPOWERED!
Best no nonsense video on lining I've seen. Thank you so much! I did it on one of those little 3lb starter noob molds that I got from Amazon and learned to make sure the "triangle" sides go to the long side because those short side...holy cow, I was ready to start throwing soap bars across the room. HAHAHA! Thanks again Katie!
You are a wonderful teacher!
Great easy to follow demonstration, thank you so much!
This is extremely satisfying to watch
Love you Katie, and love your nails ❤️❤️ such a fun video!
This is the best tutorial I have seen on lining a wood mold. Thanks, Katie. Any suggestions on making a simple first soap cutter?
Excellently done Katie! Thank you so much..🧼
Katie, this was magic! This was so incredibly helpful!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! This is the best design and tutorial I've seen in a long time! 🤗😀
You're the best in illustrate 👌

More Alice soaps please I’m obsessed
Ohmygah same here
Chelsea Brown me too! That one was spot on perfect!
I’ve got more than two scheduled! 😊
Royalty Soaps thank you for replying omg I love u hehe 💕
Can you please make tutorials about everything in life? Your explanations are so clear, the world needs to be tutorized by you. About EVERYTHING. Have a nice day!
Katie, your videos are awesome!
Agree a soap mold video for the slab mold would be amazing
Thanks Katie. You really simplified that for me. Plus it looks so neat!! Love it,love you. Hugs
This method is s lot easier thdd as n some other methods have seen. Thank you!❤️
Great Job Katy 👌💯🥰. Thanks for the liner demo.
What an excellent and simple tutorial!
This is so satisfying because I have always wondered
You are super talented and amazing Katie!! 😘
Love all your videos, would love to see one on molds, custom loaf molds and how you calculate the size of you batch to fit your molds
This was a wonderful video you did a good job of explaining everything clearly.
Thanks Katie! Quick tutorial about mixing TD and Micas for both m&p and CP. or the best way to color Embeds!
Yes 100% want the custom slab mold in your shop!!!
Maybe your brother could do a tutorial on making the mold itself...
Kathleen Swafford I will put in the request! 😉
Request seconded! I’ve been buying my slab molds, but I would love to start making them myself. Let’s see it Kenny! 👍🏻
Totally! I would love to see this!
And she would get a second mold out of it probably
Kathleen Swafford Oh yes! & can it PLEASE be a Kenny/Caleb collab?!
I'd love to see a video on how you prepare your colorants... especially titanium dioxide, what ratios you mix and where you purchase yours!
Btw, I absolutely loved this video, I didn't think I'd learn so much!
This is so helpful! I really did struggle following a lot of soap lining tutorials. I'd love a tutorial on how you melt all your oils, I seem to spend ages putting tiny bits of coconut oil and shea butter in jugs and melting them in the microwave - takes ages
TheUglyBookling YES GIRL! I can absolutely do this! When you make small batches it does take awhile but there are a few ways to make it a little quicker.
@@RoyaltySoaps Thank you so much!! Takes me a good hour to melt all my solid butters!
Thank you for being so awesome and helpful 💙
Thank you for this, Katie. My husband is about to make me a new mold, and I was worried about how I would line it without silicone. Whenever I've tried to use freezer paper in the past, I always ended up cutting it wrong and throwing so much scraps away. Hopefully, this will help me not waste so much freezer paper anymore!
Thanks FOR sharing KATIE
wow girl, very nice explanation......ty for this
You are awesome sauce !!!!!! Thank you for all your videos ... and sharing you art
WOW thank you can't wait to try lining a mold
This is so incredibly helpful! I just bought all my soap supplies today! Can't wait to use your techniques! 😁
Super helpful. Thank you 🥰🥰
It's a square! Love it!
Loved this! The same basic process could be use for cake pans of other cooking related ideas.
I have an unrelated question, does it help you if we watch the entire ad during a commercial break? I’d love to help anyway I can!
So simple. Thank you
This is an AMAZING video!!!! Thank you!!!
Thank you!! You did a great job.
