Yes, my title screen says "day one, all about lye" or whatever. No, that is not what I uploaded. I reuploaded and threw off the timing for the premiere as a result, and it still says that. Mea Culpa.
Great video and thank you for sharing the process. I will show my husband the video and ask him to build these molds for me. He has all the tools and he likes using my soaps at home. Good trade!
Thank you for always showing us how to do stuff. Thank you Mr. Soap and Clay for sharing your expertise; I’ve been wanting to make some and I think I’m inspired now.
Woodwork is a hobby I learned years before I got into soap making. I build my slab molds every now and then with different custom sizes. Building a soap cutter is going to be my next project.
Sitting here in Australia watching Mr & Mrs Soap in the USA using timber from our cousins in New Zealand is hilarious, it's exactly the same timber we get in our "Big Box" store being Bunnings 😂😂🤣🤣🍺🍺🦘🦘👍👍
Thank you for this video! I enlisted the help of my son and husband and got two molds for the price of $12.00!!!! They may not be perfect but I love them and can’t wait to try them!
I LOVE this video. I've been waiting for help to make moulds so I'm going to give it a go myself as I do actually have a mitre saw of my own from eons ago doing skirting boards. Thank you to Mr and Mrs Soap and Clay
I may just have to make my own when I need more. I have extra liners for the ones I do have so maybe I'll just make for those to go in... I love the inspiration! 😁😁
Wood is never flat in my state, it’s a conspiracy!! I built my first mold out of scrap pieces in the basement. It’s not perfectly square but it is close enough and I’m excited to try it out soon. My dimensions are almost the same as what you had posted so watching you line it made me happy. It’s easier to visualize on my own mold 👍
Sometimes the “not perfectly square” gives a handmade soap it’s character. For some designs, even end pieces look more “handmade”. Use whatever you have for your advantage.
I use a silicone loaf molds that likes to bow out so I had to get a $2 thing of wood and cut it down to rubber band the two sides together to get rid of bowing. My dad who never uses saws for anything took the saw away from me and cut it because I was going too slow for him😂
Here I sit, watching this video for ohhhhhhhhh, I don't know, about the third or fourth time without being amazed at how beautifully they turned out. Oh, yes - I fully plan on building my own molds (please pray for me)! Wood - $12.00, Hardware - $8 - $10.00, hospital bills after I've accidentally amputated at least four fingers, and screwed the palm of the hand remaining to the end of one of the molds???? PRICELESS (snicker - maybe I'll get my hubby to help, just sayin')!!! As far as lining the molds?? If you'd ever seen my gift wrapping skills, you'd have absolutely no trouble guessing that I am the reason decorative gift bags were invented . By the way, do you know how you would get silicone out of bandages??? 🙃
You can use reuse tacks to hold your mold in place also. I use tacks and when I’m finished I just put the tacks inside the mold so I don’t lose them and they are there for the next time I re-line the mold.
Wow its great! What kind of lined paper u used? Here i found people used laminated rice paper or baking paper but still absorb, i am trying to figure what is the best paper to use
Hey! I use freezer paper - here’s an Amazon link of the type so you know what to look for. White Freezer Paper Roll (18 Inch... www.amazon.com/dp/B07TCJVDR9?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I also will build a wooden mold the same size as a mold that certain companies sell for a very expensive price and then just buy their silicone liner for some of my molds so I don’t have to line it myself.
I have made several molds but didn’t like the way they came out. I would like to make a 5lb tall mold. Mr. Soap and clay needs to show us how to make that soap rack. Just sayin
This was fun and interesting! And something I'll never use. Lol. Cause I do NOT have the tools and I'm TERRIFIED of power tools. I also don't have the skill at manual cutting to get that bit right. I'm also anal retentive enough that if it doesn't square off **perfectly** then I'll hate it. So, yeah it's definitely better for me to buy molds from like Nurture Soap. My brain likes me better this way... lol But still a good and fun video!

Excellent video, as usual! Always like to see Mr SC hanging out with the Mrs and watching your synergy. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
I love your realness! Thank you for helping us! And, additionally, thank you for finding cheaper ways to do things!
Thank you so much for all you do. I’m constantly learning from you guys. ❤
I can't imagine not having a good saw, drill and driver at my disposal. I think everyone should have them and the basic skills to use them!
Yes these tools come in handy and in the long run save you money and can be use for many different projects.
Thank you for always showing us how to do stuff. Thank you Mr. Soap and Clay for sharing your expertise; I’ve been wanting to make some and I think I’m inspired now.
Mr. S&C should sell these!

It’s shocking how much we import. 😂

Hooray! So glad you enjoyed it!!!
This is the best and easiest video I see on lining mold.
Oh good! I’m glad you found it user friendly!
If you drill a couple 1/4" holes in the bottom of the mold you'll be able to pull out the soap loaf easier, because science :)
Thanks for directing me here. Its a great video

Let us know how it goes! I love these molds; very sturdy craftsmanship.
Thank you! Dad and I are going to make my mold this weekend!!!!! Timo
Have fun!
Thank you for everything that you do Xoxo I have learned so much with you and your videos

great as always 🌷🌷🌷🌷

Wood is gonna wood. 😂
What about plywood?
@@AS-jc4th I think that would be a great option when the prices drop a little more!

I adore this man. Just saying.
He’s a good man! If I had a channel that focused on home remodels, every human in the world would be turned on by his skills. 😂❤️
@@MrsSoapAndClay Time for a Mr. S&C channel 🤣

Those molds look great! I made my first ones and they were so not square, lol!

Have you ever tried to make silicone liners for your molds? I've seen some tutorials but the process seems a little daunting.
Yes. We’ve also lined the inside of wood molds with silicone and used quick release things on the molds to get the soap out. So many fun tests! 😂
You can use reuse tacks to hold your mold in place also. I use tacks and when I’m finished I just put the tacks inside the mold so I don’t lose them and they are there for the next time I re-line the mold.
What a great idea!!
What kind of liner is it? Parchment paper?
Hi, people say using paper for line the wooden soap mold will absorb the oil from soap,, means the super fat will decrease
What do you think about it?
Hey! Regular paper will absorb the easiest liquid until it’s saturated and breaks down. Lined paper will not absorb anything.
Wow its great!

Hi can you please show how you add a divider , if you wanted to make half the batch .

I’ve done that for the BB five lb liners!
If I smile, I wonder if the folks at Home Depot or Lowes will screw the wood together for me too lol
Smile real pretty. Or real creepy. They’ll do whatever to make you go away. 😂
@@MrsSoapAndClay 😂😂
What is the pound of soap it holds for that size?? 3 lb 5 lb ???
Hey! Standard 12 bar batch. 38-48oz of oils.
thank you so much for this video that orgami shit was pissing me off!

Im not sure you can cut wood like that with a hacksaw
Accurate.
