There's a fun realness to your videos that I appreciate. Please keep rocking the bloopers and sharing your wise perspective. Plants or personal I've been entertained so thank you!
Hi Becca. I've been watching you for over a year and just learned how to leave a comment from Nicole so I'm revisiting some of my faves of yours.Lol. I am a retired tailor of almost 27 years. Made bagpipe marching band jackets for police and fire departments. I'll be 64 soon and have be sewing since I was 15. Love to make personal gifts for friends and family. I enjoyed learning about you and can't wait for my monstera deliciosa looks like yours🥰
I would love to know more about you!! & i really think you should do a draw my life video.. explaining your story why/ how you got in to plant & the whole story of how you got engaged & all kinds of stuff about you!! i am really enjoying watching your videos
Oh gosh! I can definitely do more personal videos, I wasn't sure if anyone would be interested but I stand corrected! Thanks so much for watching my vids :)
the leca ball thing is a real thing! I've been plugging nursery pots and drainage whole pots with leca so water can drain but the dirt doesn't fall out (: just in case you were curious!
I always love your videos Becca, Congratulations on your upcoming nuptuals. It was fun learning about you and your hobbies. I love that you keep it real and once again we are all learning on this plant adventure. I have over 100 plants and I know that is just the beginning of my collection, I am currently working on my wish list plants, and that list is up to 15 plants, but it grows daily, lol. One is the Monstera Deliciosa Variegata, which I am growing from seeds, I just planted them three days ago, and I hope that they take root and I get some awesome plants. I look forward to your next video and I am so glad that I found your channel and even though we have never personally meant I feel a bond because we share a love of plants, thank you again Becca, bye for now.
Loved this video Becca! It's so interesting learning more about you! Your parents' backyard is so peaceful with the water feature sound in the background, do they have a fountain? And I love the palm tree. :D I would be curious to hear about your plans after teaching! Tell us more! lol
It is so so peaceful there! I love hanging out outside at their house :) They have a little fountain, yes! Provides a great ambience haha. and yes I will share more about my next plan! hehe
Love this video Becca. I bought a monstera about two months ago and have been wondering in what type of pot I should transplant it in. I see yours is doing great in terracotta. I might try it. 💕
Hi, the first thing I want to say is I love your hair! And your videos obviously haha. And I feel like if we both lived in the same area we could have been friends or something (I live in the Netherlands, so instead of real life friends we can be internet plantfriends I guess). I can really relate to a lot of the things you say. And it is awesome that you admit that you made a 'fail', I mean, we are all human. It is nice to see that you are not hiding that but embracing it (: Keep growing and learning and and sharing the things you learned with us so we can all grow and learn from each other. Love, Maaike
Maaike, thank you for saying this!! Thank you, my hair is a bit of a pain sometimes but I do really like it! I wish we lived in the same area, I need more plant friends IRL haha. So glad to have you here! xx
@@BeccaDeLaCreations You are so welcome. And yes I know the struggle, I also have a fringe /bangs and on some days it is really cute and all but on other days it is such a pain. Same here, there are so many plantpeople around on instagram and youtube, but they never seem to be in the area where I live haha.
Ahhhh i've considered growing them out so many times but just end up trimming them again because I love them so much. But on bad days...they're BAD lol. If you go on instagram and search #netherlandsindoorjungle you might find a friend :) I have a few people on instagram using it! Its the community hashtag system I'm trying to start.
Oooh there isn't anyone using it yet, I just saw. WELL! Maybe you could start it up and find people near you :) If you use it, tag me in the photo and I'll share it so my friends in the Netherlands can find you and maybe connect!
@@BeccaDeLaPlants girl I feel your pain, and then there is that awkward period of time where you are growing them out and they go nowhere really. So at those moments I allways choose to trim them because it is the easiest option 😅😂
Aaahh! Thanks so much that you think we are your friends. I feel that too. And thanks for answering my questions. You know when you were repotting the monstera, I was thinking the previous owner might have put the clay balls in at the bottom of the pot for drainage. You know, how some people used to put a layer of pebbles in the bottom of pots, but now most people know that doesn't do anything. Check out Danielle Tells or Betsy Begonia who have talked about it. So excited about your new career. And I would love to know what it is. I always wanted to become a professor too but haven't gone back for more study. I actually after many years started to enjoy high school kids.
That is exactly what I realized after all of this! It was probably for drainage and such a great idea. Thank you for wanting to know more about me personally! I can definitely share more in coming videos :) I was so unsure if anyone would care!! Haha
Go into graduate school for English with your eyes open. The job market is very, very bad, and it's very hard to get a job, even at a local college. I say this as a recent graduate. I don't want to sound negative, but prospective grads sometimes go into grad school without knowing how bad their prospects are. And whatever you do, don't go into debt to do it. Signed, bitter PhD. Love your channel, btw!
ooh, and if you do decide to apply and take the plunge, check out Karen Kelsky of The Professor Is In. She has a book and a website with good advice how to navigate all parts of the process from applying to grad school to publishing and applying for jobs.
Ah, no no it’s good to hear the negatives behind it all! Universities strictly talk about the good. I’m wanting to do this to advance in a job I’m already going to have and... it’ll make sense when I explain later ;) but yes definitely don’t want to go into debt over it and glad to get some realistic perspective!!!! Thank you for that!
@@BeccaDeLaPlants Okay, good. Don't want to sound overly preachy, but the outcomes are pretty bleak. But when you're passionate about education, it's hard not to follow your heart and go to grad school. I knew this stuff going in, yet I still went! I've got a job as a postdoc doing research, which is great, but I'm not sure what I'm going to do afterwards. In any case, good luck with your endeavours! Hopefully you'll become a famous planttube person and money will never be a problem!
@@pantalaimon1982 Oh that would be wonderful hahaha wishful thinking for sure. You're not overly preachy at all! Glad that you found a position in research and sending good vibes for the next chapter! 😲
becca, are you an islander? not to make assumptions by any means, but i myself am an islander and you look like you may also be ☺️ i love this slightly plant unrelated video!! i hope you make more of these
My dad's side of the family is actually from Cuba/Mexico and my mom is a european mutt :) haha Many people ask me this question, and I think it's the eyes and cheekbones that throw people for a loop! haha it's always flattering nonetheless! I'm so glad you enjoyed, definitely planning on throwing more casual videos in the mix! It was fun :)
You're so sweet! hahah bangs are so fun but also a little annoying sometimes I have to admit -_- usually worth it though lol. I have a wedding coordinator! I never thought I would, but I can't do it all myself. I didn't want to hate my wedding by the time it came around 😂

The roots look amazing! I also love that hanging maranta in the macrame! 😍😍
Yssa Archibald thank you, my mom has good taste hehehe
I ❤ it too!! Did you make the macrame? Or was that purchased? If you made it, maybe you could do a tutorial on how you made it??? That would be great!
Some plant collectors recommend a pot 3 inches bigger than the plant.

Love you Becca! ❤️
Cathy Loves aww! xx
i totally thought you were late 20s! you have a very mature air about you :)
This is not odd, roots likes water and pebbles stores it, so it’s look like roots suck it all inside a rootball🌱❤️
It was so cool! Never seen it before 😁

Omg your camera falling was soo funny, glad you didn’t edit that out... #fuckit 😂
Araceli Clark I thought it was hilarious and laughed for a long time 😂😂😂
