    "Gentleman's punch is a choke"
    Not sure if it's yours, but that's gold.
    If they can get their arms close enough to choke on the mats, then they can get their arms close enough to punch you on the street.

    I really love the emphasis on connection. This is the "invisible" aspect that few teachers clearly articulate. Well done!

    🤯 THIS is the jiujitsu I want to learn! So many nuggets! Thankful this video came up on my feed and I found your channel. Even more thankful you decided to create your channel and drop knowledge. Thank you, thank you brother! New subscriber here early on in your vid when you dropped 'Gentleman's punch is a choke' and started showing the details and 'why' of punch protection stickiness! Everyone mentions 'connection' like a buzzword but you definitely show your true understanding of it! Also, its great to see the Rickson school triangle again.

    I used to search for "technique" videos. Recently, realized the importance of angles, pressure, base and connection. More of this please.

    Your content is phenomenal and I was subscribed within 2 minutes of another video. The content just seems to speak to me (and many others it seems) and the details are very retainable. Looking forward to this channel growing!

    Can you do a video about "the Middle"? I heard Jack Taufer say that Rickson once did an entire seminar about the concept.
    The Rickson story about him trying to balance on the bus is the most I've heard it explained.

    6:09 "we can build on that when you start"...giving a S... about it. What's with that attitude? Rickson, who I got my blue belt from, never talked to anyone like that. In good faith I am going to assume it's an attempt at edgy humor that doesn't appeal to me. That aside, it's great instruction and reminds me of my time, brief as it was, at the Pico school in 1995-1996

  • @evrose

    hahahaha. Dude... at 4:14 you're getting dummy swept by any 2 stripe white belt and up. Decent stuff for self-defense, but for sport BJJ... not so much. Keep swearing though man, you'll get there.

    • @UnskilledGrappler
      @UnskilledGrappler Місяць тому +2

      You must have missed 5:10. “My knees pinch…”
      This negates the sweep. At 4:14, he was demonstrating a principle and likely didn’t want to muddy the water with that detail at that moment.
