Thanks for the update! Your rock formation is of interest, perhaps an opportunity to randomly place some scrub brush and small trees? Anyway, looking great!!
Scenery looks really nice. Glad to see you making progress. I always try to remember that Rome wasn't built in a day and neither are layouts. I appreciated the overall view as well. Keeps it real in my opinion.
Thanks Michael, I think the worts and all approach is appreciated more than videos that try to hide all the mess and mistakes. I feel we can all relate to it more this way.
Hi David , glad to see you’re doing well. You are making good progress on the scenery. I do like the way you have rocks cliffs. Like seeing trains running thur the scenery. I’m a fan of N S and SD40-2 . I do like your layout wish I had room for a larger layout. But I’m happy with my layout. I can run trains and enjoy the hobby. Thanks for sharing. Have a good weekend. 😎😎👍
Thanks Tommy, Even though I’ve only got a few of them I really do like the SD40-2, such an iconic engine. I’m certainly lucky to have the space that I have to be able to indulge in a heavily scenery based section of the layout without having to fit too much track in. The rest of the layout does need a bit of a clean up as it’s been a bit neglected while I’ve been focused on this section.
I love watching your vids. Always have some great ideas for me to build on. Also being from Canada, seeing your Canadian National locos in operation is always a treat. A suggestion for you scenery I would consider on the wash out you might consider putting in a few fallen trees and on the grassy areas I have used taller static grass to represent wild grass growth and give it some extra depth. Keep sending in great videos.
Scree slopes look excellent on camera David, as usual nice work... The facia boards make a huge difference, same colour as mine so good choice! I have no answer to the 3 small cliff faces... looks a bit weird mate, but go with your gut. happy railroading bud, thanks for the update.
Thanks Tim, I tend to agree about the terraced part, it’s interesting but does it fit? I’ll work on it a bit more before I make any decisions. I think a few more trees around that area, without covering it too much will help.
Coming along nicely but how about stop calling it the extension and maybe come up with another more fitting name? "The Mountains" maybe? And when you finish the area with the lake call it "The lake District". I was even thinking "The Horseshoe" for the newer turnaround before heading back. I was just thinking the extension was covering too much of the layout. Keep up the good work. :)
Yeah. It’s pretty amazing when I look back at the video of me making the initial frame work and spline. It feels like it’s taken a long time but it hasn’t really.
Hi David I love your Railroad & the videos, a question for you where do you buy you Extruded Foam for your scenery, I live in New Zealand (Wellington) & I can't find it anywhere, I model the Rio Grande so I need large quantities for the mountains. Any help would be much appreciated. heers keep up the great work the railroad looks great. Rio Grande Steve
Hi Steve, I sourced my foam boards from Bunnings but they don’t seem to stock it any more. There’s a few online suppliers of xps extruded polystyrene foam over here.
Hi David Thanks for the info it's much appreciated, I have also tried Bunnings over here as well, they look at me as though I'm an alien. I will keep searching thanks again Rio Grande Steve@@nessriverrailroad1299
It looks absolutely amazing, David!!! Keep up the terrific job!!! Can't wait till the next update!!!😊
Thanks Mike,
It feels good to make some progress and I’m pretty happy with the outcome.
My vote says, don't mess with anything because it looks darn nice the way it is. Nice job !
Thanks,
I appreciate the feedback and I’m glad you like it.
Your progressing well. Looks really good. Thanks for the update. 😊😎👌👍!
Thanks Stephen.

Thanks Brian,
I like the idea of a fallen tree or two. I do have some static grass I want to use but I need to practice my application a bit more.
Hi, David! It’s nice to see the trains running through the scenery.
It does make it feel worth the effort when you see trains running.
Looking fantastic David. You’re making great progress.
Thanks Garry, it feels good to get just a few more feet of progress.
The scenery looks great job , keep up the great work ! Facia looks awesome it finishes the area off !
Thanks David. I’m happy with how it’s coming along.

Looking so nice! I enjoy your videos and the progress on the layout.
I’m glad you enjoy them.
I think your scenery work look great, I like the 3 rock cuts. Keep working at it. Bob
Thanks Bob,
I originally planned to shape that area down to smooth but I thought I’d try this first. It certainly looks different.
Looks great do it as you see and feel how you want it to be
Cheers, I’m certainly working to what I see in my mind but feedback still helps.
Super train, fantastic details 👍👍👍.
Greetings Gert
Thanks Gert, I’m glad you liked it.
Looks fantastic!
Looks great to me !! I agree that too many trees will take away from the scene.
Thanks Ron, I appreciate the feedback.

That is really coming along nicely, unrecognizable from the spline videos a while back

Looks Awesome David! 😎👍
Thanks, I appreciate you watching my channel.
Great work as always looks really nice!
Thanks. I’m glad you like it.
Excellent work
Thanks.
Scenery coming along nicely! Would you consider a small town on top of that hill or a farm? Nice video!
Thanks,
A little house or two dotted in the hills could be cool.
I really like the terrace look some thing I have not seen on other layouts and with the rock slide next to it.
Thanks Mark,
I think it gives an opportunity for an interesting scene.

@riograndesteve272 Good luck 🤞
Cool progress 👍🤠👍
Thanks.
If you want to put people in use the BLMA mooners and a little humor into the scene
Thank Matt, I’ll have to look those up.
