The old lady just made their town look more worse. She lied to the cops to get them in trouble. If she were really protecting the family she could have just calmly explained that the victims prefer to be left alone, do not like to be interviewed and that would have been the end of it. But instead she put up this creepy fake friendly facade, led them around town and pretended like she was in distress or being harassed when she approached the police. Honestly she should be charged for making a false report.

What happened was truly no fault of their own and the trauma attached to that scenario would be unimaginable, especially considering they were children.
If their identities were found it, it could ruin their lives.

Hi Jamie, I think you went about this video in an incredibly insensitive manner. Like you said in the conclusion, hideous crimes were committed against children. There's a reason why their names were changed, to protect their identity. While most of your viewers might be young, and not understand the seriousness of such a topic, you need to do better. Perhaps the woman was a victim, or related, and she had every right to be defensive and report you for snooping around. The questions you went around asking locals were not funny. People who are victims deserve to be treated with dignity, and this should not be turned into a funny video for entertainment. I like your videos overall, and I see you are trying to tackle more serious topics, but if you want to venture into such territory, I think you need to approach it more responsibly, with integrity and respect. Perhaps go read up on how to video and cover sensitive topics. You owe this to your audience and yourself. You don't want to look back 10 years from now and think that the videos you are making now are cringe at best, and immoral at worst.

Honestly they were both in the wrong. The lady could have easily explained things like you just did and that would have been the end of the video. But instead she acted like a 2 faced creep from a horror movie and led them around town. Not to mention made a false report to the police(which is illegal), pretending like she was somehow in distress or being harassed. Being a victim by proxy does not make you above the law or give you the right to conduct yourself in this manner.
The woman was definitely not related, she looks nothing like the Colts. He went about the whole thing in a very naive manner. There’s no way you can just walk into a small town asking questions about the infamous Colt family. The children are being protected. The older generation are the criminals but they are also victims of abuse.

Something about Aussie small towns. The people in many of them are stuck in time, stuck in their weird traditions, their cliques. Any stranger who comes along is seen as a potential boat-rocker. Doubly so when there's a weird history surrounding the town like in this case. Basically mate, just be careful with these jaunts. It's great to see a side of Australia that doesn't get a lot of media limelight, but many of the people in these places unfortunately need to be treated with caution until they show that they're ok with your presence

As someone who lived there and went to school with these kids that are victims i agree. The tone was bad but the children were heavily traumatised and abused from the heads of the family, its not researched enough cause they lived out of boorowa near forbes and frogmore. And the reason there in hiding isnt shame its safety. The family heads are still trying to get a hold of these kids, the story is horrific and sad honestly.
And the owner of the pub doesn’t really have anything to hide tbh, his just a cranky guy, once he yelled at me for playing pool wrong, there not used to influencers so i get why he got mad.
