- Releasing in 2003, Dragon Ball Z Budokai 2 became an instant classic with its fun gameplay, unique and interesting story mode, and a whole cast of new characters not seen in the previous entry. Despite it being a great game, not a whole lot has been talked about its beta and cut content elements, so I will be covering things about this game that some of you may not know!
The preview build didn't let me equip capsules, so I went through the story with just doing combo cancelling, it wasn't fun fighting Kid Buu.

I think I would've personally enjoyed the hair physics and the small detail of the characters turning with the cursor on the map. But hey, I'm happy with the final product and these games, especially B2 as it was maybe my first DBZ game if I recall, will always have a special place in my heart.

As a fan of cut content, it’s always pretty cool to see what content was cut before the final game was released. These older dbz games have a special place in my heart for these reasons alongside the older halo games.
0:30 there are also unused skill sets for android 19, kid gohan, dodoria, and zarbon in the final game, they don't have any death or physical moves but they have their special equipment capsules from budokai 1 which made them easy to identify
there's also another unused character skill set that i personally believe belongs to kibito, but they don't have any unique capsules assigned to them, unlike the budokai 1 characters, so it's impossible to tell for certain from just the texture files
Kibito is a good guess especially since they would have made moves up for him because he didn’t have any notable ones in the show. It could have also been Pikkon but perhaps he was cut because they couldn’t get the Thunder Flash Attack to work.
The B2 graphics are my favourite to this day

Very interesting. I know the the mouth open thing was often in characters from b1 but it’s good they changed that. My best friend loves budokai 2 so I will have to share this video with her. Thanks for making this!
I only recently found out that JP B2 has Cooler as Friezas alt💀. I never knew about alot these since I barely digged into b2 other than swapping head mods but seems like alot was also cut
Cooler is only available as Frieza's Alt in the Special Japanese V-Jump version of the game. But both the V-Jump and the normal Japanese versions of Budokai 2 have Kuritza as Alts for Frieza.
As a huge fan of Budokai 2, this was very interesting to watch!

Zarbon and Dodoria were probably meant for the Stage 2 snow level, instead of fighting Recoome and Ginyu twice.

I really enjoyed this beta and cut content video! Can’t wait until you’re ready to do Budokai 3 next but definitely take your time since that game has LOADS of cut content that unlike Budokai 2, has been documented to death.

Amazing Content I like alot of the final stuff but the hair physics would have been wonderful for the characters would have given just a bit more to it. Still love the game either way!

Android 19 was supposed to be in Budokai 2 but was cut. Gero started off as a place holder for him then Gero replaced him entirely.
I would love to see all the final placeholder icons. Not many opportunities to appreciate the artwork

I could do it, but a lot of vids on B3's cut content has been documented all ready, so I probably would give nothing new to the table.
Around 2:04 you can notice a Saibaman flying past Gohan, could it be a stand in for a missing Chaotzu model?
Yeah, that's what I believe, as another Saibaman shows up later to be a placeholder for Roshi

@@raadihajirashidahmedjama891 To open the file, you need to extract the file itself with winrar, then you use a program called 'Game Graphic Studios'. To view the textures in the game's afs file.

I have some other videos planned, but Budokai 2.2 will be my next mod I do, which I actually plan to work on it around the middle of February, so it should have a March release.
