I do not know why I bought this car..But now 17 years later I know!! Still runs great and it still looks awesome. I do love and enjoy this 2000 CELICA every day.
Haha I have the 96, it's got debit 250,000 miles and still runs great I like this color better then mine and it's definitely more sporty I just tried to find a video of clarkson ripping on it so this was surprising haha
I bought a Celica 7th gen not looking for a car in 2005. Thought it was cool when I saw it but had no intention to buy it. Took it for a test drive and now today in 2023 still driving that same car I bought in 2005. Most reliable car ever. Easy to maintain and still looks amazing!!!! Love this car.
I bought one myself a few months ago for a second car. Their stunning looking after 20 years and catch people's eyes. It's very small inside I'm 6ft2 and I feel to tall for the celica. Pity the seat won't slide back further lol
I have a 2002 model fully loaded. Big exhaust. Pops and bangs looks awesome now in 2020 and its in very good order and admired by many young and old always feel proud getting in and out of it love my gen 7 celica 😎
@@eaklesd4743it’s bang average, since it sits in the middle of the insurance group ladder nowadays (which honestly, it should be much lower than it is)
It's certainly no Mercury Cougar, Mitsubishi Eclipse, Fiat Coupe or Alfa Romeo GTV, but is still a decent car and great alternative for anyone who can't afford to by a Toyota GT 86. Although, it's a terrible shame that this generation of the Celica doesn't have a GT-Four model.
Flabby? The 6th gen was gorgeous! Straight off the cover of Sega Rally, that's why I bought one :D (Also because they were much cheaper than Lancia Delta Integrales)
Not really the same: The closest matches are: 993-generation Porsche 911 (open) and a BMW 3-Series (close). But they do sound similar, that's one thing.
If you actually drive both, you can feel a huge difference. Its more than a second as in reality the t sport does it in about 6.5 seconds, if you hit lift from gear to gear.
@@alexanderjamesreed935 Debatable. I actually own the vvti model and have gone head to head against a T sport, and really, getting from 0-60. Not much difference, again you have to hit over 6k Revs for the lift to kick in, and by that time, sure the T sport is great. But there isn't an outstanding difference - plus the vvti model is lightweight, engine kicks in between 5/6k revs and with a few adjustments to the car such as shedding some weight (like the backseats) and adding an air filter it can easily go from 0-60 in 6/7 seconds.
@@SpartanQwop Agreed - you have to hit lift in order to feel any difference whatsoever. However once you do, there is no competition. If you can then hit lift from first to second, a standard 140 is dust. It is tricky to hit lift from first to second admittedly - and with some newer t sports the rev limit is lower so you can't do this - but i would avoid these models personally. This was done in 1999 though - and the older models all kick in at 6000rpm and rev all the way up to 8250, enabling you to go from lift back into lift.
7th gen will go for 270k miles ... that's pretty good if you ask me .. still faster than most civics too. I have the 2002 gt 5spd TRD and still beat civics and older Lexus's

SpreadEagleRL me too!
I have a Celica too and it’s the best car I’ve bought
My celica is 20yrs old now and still running strong! Super easy to maintain and fix one of the best reliable cars toyota ever made.
my 33 year old celica was abandoned for 3 years and i just got it not too long ago xD
this is gonna be a biiiiig job
@@davidlawand2805 Cars DO NOT like been "Stood"

If that's her idea of 4 inches I think we all still have hope.
lol
Well said, but take heart and remember, the human male is still the largest of the primates where it counts.
Did you hear the one about a black man called Snow?
In 2018. This car still look awesome.

it's surprisingly good on fuel and nippy around the city

Hell yeah. Sega Rally FTW
I mean, the standard non GT-4 Celica was pretty ugly/fat
@@ilya3379 especially headlights were ugly, then T230 came there and compensated that with great japanese design
The chassis has aged well
I've recently bought one. So attractive to look at and a very enjoyable drive.
Cd player coming as standard.. priceless
Built in CD player yeah boi
I love these cars. I’m so happy to own one.
i still have a 2000 GT 145k miles and still running strong. Bone stock engine.
and now?
Never seen one these with built in SatNav :/
Really? WHO in DAFUQ was begging for an even tighter spread on the C60?
I just can't get over the fact that toyota never made an awd gt4 version of this car
because it was a flop. They left the respect with the prior 3 generations.
Prodigy playing in the background
She's right I'm 40 something but look 20 something hahaha and I got one 😁
im 21 somthing but look like I'm (and I was told this by somebody) 17 something.
Wow this was only the 1zz 140hp model? Yeah, shouldve waited for the gts

Gen 6 and gen 1 were the best looking, rest were OK in my opinion
T-Sport Celica owner here. It is a good car overall. While others shift up @6200 rpm, T-Sport has a surprise waiting for you. Do you even "lift" bro?
Cell-ee-ka ?
That's the correct pronounciation of it, although it sounds rather weird
yup a celica, the ca is a ka
"Correct" pronunciation is debatable. Think about how the Japanese would pronounce it and then you've got the original way of saying it.
Without the spoiler this car really does look odd. Glad mine has one.
My 04 Celica is about to hit 219k miles.
Got one yesterday. It is a 2001 toyota celica. I'll update if I ever remember this comment in the future on how it's doing.
How's it doing?
Still looking like a squashed Focus.
Now we have the amazing, the perfect, the spectacular Toyota GT86
Cute wee thing when she was young
I love her voice. So sexy...
Oh I have a mk7 too 😅
Shes filth has to be. Not sure if shes a posho or not.
It’s sell ica not that
God how fit was vicky back then!! About the car, I say 350z and GTR ripped off celica headlights
Ok
I love my 95 Celica GT convertible
lol I would take a GT-Four any day of the week.
I hate how you pronounce “celeeka”
Vicky holds her two fingers an ince apart and says 4 inches. Well that explains the type of boyfriend she has then doesn't it?...........
No wonder she was only fit for filth gear and not top gear...
The car that killed the Celica . That woman could not have been more wrong. Glad I stuck with the Turbo 6th Gen
Neg Ative May I ask why it killed the celica? I only ask because the car was designed for a different purpose than any of the older generations.
Completely agree, tfo of her Neg
In general the 6th gen didn't have the reliability compared to the 7th gen. That's why seeing the 6th gen around is so rare nowadays.

6th gen was ugly af
Horrid
MrTezz08 care to explain? No hate here just wondering why
Personally i think this car aged badly. Just me tho' but these days it looks like a childs toy car. Great starter car for wannabe girl racers.
DAGATHire couldn't agree more, I thought that the previous gen was way better looking, this one looks like it's stuck in a early 2000s disco.
indeed spot on. and the previous cars were brutish masculine and beefy. WRC champions etc. this thing belonged in a hot wheels box.
Shame you're wrong
I personally think it's the only one to have aged well, but then again 'wannabe girl racer' is probably accurate to me to some degree :P
