this song gave me major goosebumps the first time i heard it. pure unfiltered rage yet so damn catchy, a real balancing act that knocked loose pulls off perfectly.
Frontman Bryan Garris explained the track “may be the meanest song I’ve ever written.” He added that it’s a takedown of “someone who tried their hardest to come into my life and mess with two out of the three closest people I have.”
"don't reach for me" immediately made my mind jump to drowning people, how they latch on to the person trying to rescue them, usually drowning their rescuer in the process.
I devoted 20 years of my life to a fundamentalist evangelical church. I taught, did sound, etc. Got fucked over by our abusive, controlling pastor. I slowly realized that it was all bullshit. He used the Bible to control us. We hurt a lot of good people in my time there, all in the name of God and salvation. People that were vulnerable and hurting. My family feels like I betrayed them because I left the church. I feel every word of these last two songs with all of my heart. Read the lyrics thinking of that context. I don’t know if that’s his meaning but it fits well for me. Great reaction!
I really dont understand these kind of people... Justifying their evil through the bible by removing half its context. The hypocrisy is insane. Their only last destination is hell.
From toastaintbad: @Mahbeiserts Hi @HeartSupport_Fans, Religion can be scary sometimes because the pastor can influence and manipulate you. Each pastor is different but not all them are evil. I do see a few pastor that help others like running a charity or food pantry. I used to go to church due to private school and it traumatize me ever since. They forced me to sing worship songs. I can relate to your post about feeling lost and confused. People have no clue that religion can impact someone's lifestyle. These days I feel most pastors these days are preaching things that aren't from the Bible. There are pastors that want their followers to donate money so they can live in a mansion like Pastor Kenneth Copeland. You may feel betrayed by your family that you left church. I feel that you made a good decision. I'm super proud of you. It must have been hard to leave your family behind. You need to do what makes you happy. Religion isn't bad because it helped people live a good moral life. However, don't make religion like it's part of your personality & lifestyle. I love how songs can helps us reflect our own emotions. It's okay to cry or be upset with certain songs. Music can be interpreted in different meanings.
From DyllonKG: @Mahbeiserts Hey hey friend. Thanks for commenting here and talking about this. Religion is one thing but when beliefs shatter a family - that must be so difficult to deal with. You mentioned in your post that you dedicated 20 years of your life to that church and that your pastor was controlling and abusive, manipulating scripture to control and inevitably hurt people. On top of the betrayal there, your decision to leave the church created a rift between you and your family that likely still lingers with you today. First off, I want to say that Im sorry. I know what it's like to cut ties with family, though mine is different, it's a specific pain. And it's a specific anger that rises in the back of your throat. I imagine that maybe you felt like you were genuinely the bad guy for a time. Perhaps you questioned if your family was right. Perhaps you ended up isolated and alone, betrayed once by the church and once by your family. I cant imagine how hard that must be. How hard it must be to find trust for others. I am sorry friend. While I myself am not religious, my partner was raised in a fundamentalist church and has done a lot of deconstructing in her time since. That's her story to tell though. What I will say is that it's one hell of a journey, to an observer. From defiant rage to acceptance, and anywhere in between it seems like one hell of a journey either way. I'm not sure where you stand on faith or the delineation between faith and church - but I hope you know that you;'re not alone in that. The betrayal you've experienced is one so many people have felt, especially LGBTQ youth in specific states here in the country. You sound like you've come along in your healing journey. Discovering music to help cope is so powerful and after reading the lyrics to this song, they seem to fit perfectly for those days where you really need a catalyst to get that energy out. That being said, I hope it is just that as there is a level of aggression in the song. Though I trust that you have a level head about these things. On broken bonds and broken communication with family - I get that. I dont speak to my parents much anymore, though this is primarily due to their behavioral patterns more than their believes. But regardless, it can be hard. I see loving families in movies and TV or see the relationship my partner has with her family and it's a gut punch. Though over the last decade, it's gotten easier as I've worked through a lot of it in therapy. I hope that either your family can bridge that gap or you can embrace found family some day that helps you through those moments that you want to share. You deserve that. You deserve kindness and love and joy and I hope you find it my friend. Im proud of you for standing your ground and doing what is best for you. Hold fast and take care of yourself, ok?

Knocked Loose feels authentic and relatable. And theyre different, theyre like horror metalcore and hardcore but they appeal to people in their 20s and teenagers and have crazy mosh pits

could you please do one of these at some point? Would love to hear your Therapist way of looking at it. his regular screams are pretty safe, however you are correct with his occasional deep scream. he does inhale growls which are bound to fuck up your vocal chords
@@l0STInTh3EKK0as with (exhale) screams, there’s a correct and an incorrect way to do inhales although that line is even more faded than correct/incorrect exhales. Don’t reach for me you 5 against 3 Don’t reach for me You 3 against 2💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
I would highly recommend checking out the song "Shade Astray" or "False Meridian" by Invent Animate. It's a similar genre to a lot of the music you've been checking out and there is ALOT to analyze in the lyrics which you might find interesting. And both songs are just incredibly good
This sounds like a song to his parent. Mother. That's my interpretation. I get in preach mode with my daughter. She doesn't like it. We rarely have actual disputes. It's often about music. She doesn't know that I'm so thankful that she has a love for music. Regardless of the music.
I wonder if there's a way to get talk therapy services from yourself or another @HeartSupport therapist or are the song reaction videos all that's available? I love Taylor Palmby's reactions
This is the kind of song I would write for my estranged father-in-law. The line "that's exactly why your daughter left" ties it all together for me. He was (and still is) a controlling, manipulative narcissist who pretends to be a paragon of religious virtue. We've been no-contact for years at this point and when he was struggling with life at one point my wife and I agreed that we would not have him in our lives even if he came crawling back. Don't reach for us.
Been browsing these last hours. Why no FIR? They are one of the most hype "reaction worthy" bands since 2019's Popular Monster. Topics are often depression, anxiety, addiction and rehabilitation.
I enjoy the that we get to see a song Taylor is excited for and personally interested in each Friday. During the rest of the week I know you probably pick all other songs from suggestions in the comments but I have been wondering why you don't run any organised polls in the community section, maybe creating polls comes with it's own issues it just seemed like possibly another day of the week could be a community vote. Just an idea.
If you want to analyse a load of deep lyrics and head-bang at the same time, you should react to a song from cattle decapitation, either Just Another Body or Bring Back the Plague. I would personally love it. thanks!
this song gave me major goosebumps the first time i heard it. pure unfiltered rage yet so damn catchy, a real balancing act that knocked loose pulls off perfectly.

This has been "debated" by so many people. Bryan has addressed it himself. He will be okay. He knows what he is doing.
This one helps a lot. My own family Don’t reach for me💯 Thank you beautiful therapist for the reaction and your explanation 💯 and also a bible verse “ the house will be divided 3 against 2 and five against three” and another verse Christ came to divide families. Don’t reach for me you 5 against 3 Don’t reach for me You 3 against 2💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
And also check out Norma Jean -Anna. That song is about a fan of the band and a friend of them who passed away
First time listen that but i reconize The Dillinger Escape plan. Calculating infinity
This is amazing, because this is exactly the reaction I expected lol
Angry music for happy people ❤️🔥
I like this therapist
We metal heads just like a sick beat
This song is reminds me a lot of “The gospel” from their Pop culture EP
Hello! I love you! Its great to see metal broke down like this. Please do KoRn- Dirty, and My Gift to You. 2 diff songs
Just seen them this past Saturday and Monday covering for slipknot and I enjoyed them more than slipknot!!! They get the crowd hyped!!! New fan!!!
Would you do a reaction to Jinjer pisces (specifically the live session) avoid reading the comments though
Love them Kentucky boys! Oldham county!!
This is gonna be my religious healing album
The buzzing sounds like the intro to Antimatter by silent planet.
More Tool more Knocked Loose!! Channel is awesome.
New boundaries album?
Phenomenal breakdowns
Recommendation- Fallen by Upchurch. I don’t know if you’ve heard this song before but it really hits home for me.
This is rad!!!!
Nice video as always! You should react to Hope by Lucidious... This song gives me goosebumps all time I watch it, its lyrics is simply incredible.
I want you guys to analyze some Shinedown songs. Great band with some deep songs.
I would personally love it. thanks!
This album is so ******* good I can't stop playing it -- absolute filth gym hype
