Death is tragic, fighting against it in any way, even if it means evoking the darkest arts, is noble and honourable, and to do these things for another even moreso. I first played Oblivion when I was like 10 or something, had no idea what necrophilia was and couldn't figure out why she was so awkward about her question for the fine for it. And then, some time later, when I learnt some useful things in life, what she meant dawned on me and I never looked at Falanu the same way. And now, so many years later, thanks to this very song, I can see Falanu in a new light again. Splendid.

Considering it's 120 years in *prison* death might be the more merciful punishment.

In the last crime, they've murdered a family of 12 members, put a living newborn on top of a pile of blooded corpses, and burned it with gasoline. Yet, some of them ended eating lobsters, red caviar and BBQ, while in prison for 20 years. Horrible fate! The caviar not even black!

TES mer lifespans are so confusing to me. I sometimes hear that they live up to to around 300 years. Others say it's around a thousand.
@@tazzioboca The main source I use is a combination of The Biography of Barenziah, and The Real Barenziah. Symmachus states in The Real Barenziah that elves live 1000 years. Granted, that book is likely a fictionalized account of her life, but it seems a strange thing to get wrong. Regardless, Barenziah was born at the end of the Second Era and lived at least until the Red Year in the Fourth Era, which puts her at least 435-ish years old. If she survived the Vvardenfell eruption, she'd be over 600 years old.
