I was not a doctor
I was taken to his country but a man stood up on the sidewalk holding a rifle to my body as I went out to get Christmas wrappings...
I shook and trembled and remembered the Nicaragua episode, when an American reporter was killed... I walked around the next corner and he came out and found me. I told him he shoulde have told me in advance there were people holding rifles on the sidewalk before taking me there. . oh, he took offense. How was it that he didn:t protects me? You shouldn't have walked out on your own, you have to walk with me. And from then on he took over, he drove me everywhere, and when I became a widow I found out I can't no longer drive.
My husband was a covert narcissist, BUT God changed his heart, mind, and direction when he decided to get saved. My husband admitted to everything when I showed him an article that God gave me to explain this behavior. Not even the best counselor in the world can get a narcissist to admit they are a narcissist. But God is the ultimate Counselor 🙌 🙏 ❤️

Wow, cause for most.. there is NO hope. they are DEMON FILLED. NO doubt. I left my "friend" to God... and walked away. NO, I do not pray for this person. God has it.
Amen!! Will be praying for you and your husband! I believe our God can perform miracles and change the hearts of those who seek Him and love Him. It’s so sad, so many people are completely hopeless with all types of narcissism. But we have a God who can move mountains! Who can do what to some seem impossible- with Him all things are possible! God bless your marriage!!
What’s the link? God is way too powerful not to be able to humble people when we are grains of sand before Him. A mist in the air!! He humbled Nebuchadnezzar but we just don’t know what it will take and how long it will take. God’s strategy and timing is beyond our understanding. He wills that all man (men + women) to be saved and if He said He is able to do the impossible, then one prayer (1 person) puts 1,000 to flight, 10 prayers (10 people) puts 10,000 to flight.
The Bible says in Deuteronomy 32:30, “one man will chase a thousand and two put ten thousand to flight”. Wherever two or more persons come together to pray in the name of Jesus, God is there in their midst.
That is my story 😢 I’m going through a horrible divorce with a covert narcissist and he has made my life hell, but I know God is going to help me! Please keep me in your prayers

I am going f through a divorce with a covert narcissist also. It took me 35 years to figure this out, although there were problems that we could bought resolve from the beginning. The divorce process is now 2 1/2 years in, which I understand is common in such cases. There is parental alienation of several of my adult children with him saying that I am delaying the divorce while he is in contempt of court and delaying. Will be great to be free. Wonder if and when my kids will come around… Also wonder about them being narcissists themselves…
My deliverance was needing to leave for safety reason following repeated emotional abuse and escalating verbal abuse with threats of physical. I fled and he filed. At least I can’t be judged by other Christians. I filed too, but his went through first. Now I see it as God’s protection. Please pray that He will continue to deliver me along with His favor through the divorce. I am 65 and this will be my livelihood…

@@Gamefan86you missed one point CHRIST made symbols to represent HIMSELF like a sacrificial lamb, Lion, and the sun. In the new Kingdom the sun will not be there because HE will be The LIGHT so the sun is a placeholder until that symbol is fulfilled like the lamb was sacrificed and eaten until The FATHER replaced the lamb with the LORD JESUS CHRIST and was sacrificed for HIS believer’s sin. Just like we do communion until the resurrection when we receive HIS Body and Life.
I’m still in a marriage with a narcissist. Gaslighting, deflecting, chaos. Verbal abuse for 12 years. I never thought to pray for deliverance for me, always prayed for him. Praying God Will deliver me and my girls.

Thank you for sharing your story, Kris. My malignant narcissist wife of almost 19 years was just caught cheating by me. Praise our God! I have been delivered by the LORD and I will not look back. It has been the darkest 2 decades of my life with this supposedly Christian woman in my life. But God is faithful, and now I'm free. Thank you for your content. I'm grateful to hear of fellow Christians and their deliverance from narcissistic spouses.

God gave me the strength to finally let him go He actually left after my cancer diagnosis God used this diagnosis to set me free from my very troubled marriage My diagnosis has also led me to get healing from my childhood trauma It’s been two years and I am thriving God has been good to me and my 14 year old son

This sounds so similar. My ex-husband had a stroke, and then I was diagnosed with cancer six months later, and after watching him, squander his inheritance from his mother‘s death within that same timeframe, I realized that this man only cared about himself, and no one else as I sat in extreme pain with vulvar cancer, radiation, and between my legs just tore me up like a torch to the front end area. It was horrible and he wasn’t there for me. He just smoke his pot, going to his bedroom and go to sleep, and I sit out in the living room because I couldn’t lay down because of the pain extend it to my room and area so I had to break provide cushions and sit and just watch TV all night it was horrible, but I praise God for that because it really open my eyes to the type of person I was married to, and how little he really cared for me!!
Currently packing because my therapist told my husband is a narcissist and possibly sociopath. And she asked how soon I could leave. He’s gone for a week so I’m quickly getting out. I needed this ! 🙏

I left my husband the day he said that he never wanted to marry me. He said that I made him sick! And we should divorce. After 5 years of hearing that, I finally said Okay and put in the Divorce papers!
Now I feel free!
I left my narcissistic boyfriend after a year and a half. He told me that I get on his nerves. He’s a habitual liar and manipulative. He never takes responsibility for his actions instead he flips it and somehow I’m the problem. When he felt the need to lie to me, tell me I get on your nerves, told his daughter not to talk to me because you got caught, and a host of other things was my cue to leave. I left and I’m not turning back. My Mom kept telling me to step back and I’ve learned that when she tells me something it’s for a reason. She just kept saying step back and guard your heart. I was lucky enough that she was interceding on my behalf. Her prayer was that God will expose exactly who he is. I believe he did that. I knew something was off. Because we will get into arguments because he’ll do something about it and then will not take responsibility for his actions. It was always the same thing that he was doing. His mistakes become habits which became patterns. I’m so thankful to God that he allowed my eyes to be open and to see who he really was. It’s been about 2 1/2 weeks since I left this relationship and I don’t plan on going back. I blocked area of communication. Answer any messages or text. I don’t answer calls from unknown numbers. I don’t hate him, I just pray that he would see the error of his ways before it’s too late and that God will save his soul.

Same.God gave me dreams but I was disobedient.
Same here .. didn't listen to the warnings...a night before I felt outrightly irritated by him for no apparent reason...and even talked about calling it off...but didn't until about 2yrs after
It took me 30 years to leave a Narcissist and it cost me greatly, but I trust in my Lord. He has been by my side. When I married at 18 I had no idea what a narcissist even was. So many people don’t know the mental, physical abuse, lies that I lived. My God has brought me to a place of healing.
Same here. I was 19 when I got married and didn’t know what it was. 39 now and living in hell. I want to leave but little money won’t a 9 year old.
I am in the same situation, just coming to grips that he will never change. That je just doesn't possess human emotions, they are twisted and ugly from deep within. Theres no help for this.
I was delivered from a narcissist in the most unbelievable way…it took 23 years and I thought all hope was gone. Things suddenly got mucb worse one day and I thought I was going to end up in jail because of the anger I was feeling….but it didn’t work out that way. Today we are free!
I am 25 years into a marriage with a covert narcissist. It is so hard!! My health has definitely suffered and I feel like a different person because of it. He has everyone at church fooled and even teaches Sunday school now. I have been praying for God to set me free. I don’t have $ to be able to leave, so I am stuck and miserable 😢 . I also did it to myself and married the wrong one!! I’m just thankful this is only temporary and one day, even if it isn’t until I get to Heaven, I will be free.

there is a way out - there always is. Ask for help from your church, a woman’s shelter, friends. You must get out!
How come you don’t have money when your Father in heaven does and owns all the cattle on the hill?? You are joint heir to his throne. Poverty is not your portion. Call down what you need from heaven and ask God to release it. Ask him to send you resources, opportunities, and helpers in your path. Think less like a victim and pray more from a place of authority. Start Fasting for what you want and what you want to see. Repent for any sin in your life and ask God to close any demonic portals or doors that have been opened. Ask him to help you, give you wisdom, but pray his will is done in your life. Pray the scriptures over yourself and situation as well and watch what God does. Pity doesn’t move God….but Faith does, speak from a place of boldness and faith. Have Faith he hears you and have faith he will move on your behalf. Cancel every negative word or curse you or others have spoken over yourself….. this is the prescription to your spiritual illness. God loves you and will come through for you. Stop counting yourself out! It’s already done in Christ Jesus name!
@@apgx6032 Thank you!! I have been trying to do this the past couple of days, so this is like confirmation for me that it’s what I should do. I have alot of built up anger in me and I don’t like it at all. I feel like I am going to implode sometimes!! This is so hard not having a voice or having someone to talk to who understands. I know my anger does not please God and it’s not who I am!! I keep reminding myself that I only have to answer for my actions/thoughts and that things could be worse. Christina, I know what you are going through......(too much to tell) but these men are just horrible....The silent treatment, not even remembering my name, the anger, the love bombing with some silly gift...etc. After 6 year of this shocking behavior I told him that his snoring bothered me and I could not sleep....I moved into a guest room. That was the beginning of separation .....Ask the LORD to help you with finance . He will. I will.pray for you.. ❤ ❤❤

My pastor, is the one who showed me that if I had been walking with GOD, when i married this man, I would not have done so. I was old enough that that’s what I wanted but didn’t expect. Now we’re expecting a grand baby. This channel as well as Dr Henry cloud are very helpful. I just found Kris and love her wisdom.

Similar here. My husband is a narcissist and has an online pastoral credential. He showed his dad my prayer room. His dad said it was too ornamental and that his simple closet was to be preferred. I threw his opinion out the window a year or so later when he dressed up in drag to help raise money for a kids program. He said it was for a good cause. I finally called bs.

It’s taken me over 25yrs to realize that my husband has these narcissistic tendencies (demonization) to be exact. I can relate to everything you’ve said, from manipulation, gaslighting, the guilt instilled in me of being the problem. He’s been in prison, out of prison , in church, out of church and even disrespected my daughter, yet I kept going back. Until that one eventful night when he nearly choked me to death and had no other choice but to call the cops on him- now I’m battling him wanting to take my home in the mist of what is probably going to be a horrible divorce, BUT GOD has delivered me and I know He will see me through. So prayers are Welcomed. I don’t have a support of people and definitely need to find counseling as I’m going through my healing process. So blessed I found you. Thank you for sharing your story. Stay strong in God! Trust Him. I can relate; my former husband looked me in the eye and told me that I wouldn't leave our bedroom alive. He was hitting me and expected me to fight back, but I froze. He said that he was going to call the police and have them arrest me for beating him. He started scratching himself and called the police. It was so scary and unbelievable. But God allowed me to escape, run to neighbors and get help. Nobody believed me. My former husband was a Christian, or so he said. During divorce, I had to sell our house, had anxiety attacks and couldn't work. Lost my job and became homeless. The worst part was to be separated from my children for 2 years. My ex-husband made sure of that. In my desperate state, God carried me through. I never stopped fighting in court. Was reunited with my children. 10 years later, Jesus restored me. The hardest part was to forgive that man. Please, get lots of help, counseling and support. Wishing you the best in Christ.

When I finally was ready to tell my husband that I wanted to separate because of his anger and unloving ways (after much prayer, counsel, and preparation), I felt like Esther in the Bible. A very pivotal moment that God had prepared me for... such a time as this. Press into your relationship with Christ and with God, and don't worry about people who don't believe you or understand or aren't supportive. God has seen everything.
God is faithful and will give you His wisdom liberally when you ask in faith.
I was married to a pathological narcissist. You can't just "say goodbye". I wanted to so bad over the 10 years I was married but I knew ONLY cheating set me free biblically.
That being said I gave her the option to come home after she left a few times and once I found out she was with not one but multiple men I was free and I never considered going back to that ever again.
I lost my kids for years from a corrupt and sexist family court system from this situation. But God brought my kids back cause they saw the toxicity of their mom. I had to endure a lot of pain, lot of lies, lot of corruption. But God answered prayers.
If you're being abused or anything by all means get separated ASAP!! But divorce is only the option of someone cheated on. I know it's hard, I had to endure that so I know. But our vows and promises are to God not our spouse.
Pray to the Lord with all your heart and soul for strength, courage and wisdom. Ask him to guide you and he will never fail you.
Seek help, women's shelters, domestic violence groups, your church, friends, therapist... Someone.
If you get a divorce you must remain single, or remarry your husband, better read timothy in the Bible concerning divorce, don't send your self to Hell for adultery

I love it when you say, " Judge all you want, but I left!" It's also very liberating when one takes responsibility for the part that they played in getting entangled in such chaos. The say I topped blaming and taking responsibility was the beginning of my freedom. I also have zero regrets for leaving, and even though he never fought to keep our marriage or stop me, he still tells everyone that I filed for the divorce, I left...and you know what? I'm okay with that.
My story is very similar; we had children and I told myself I was staying for them--comes with it's own repercussions. I stayed much longer, then it was almost like a light bulb went on--God told me, now is the time, you will be ok. This time I listened and its something I've never regretted. For those of you out there who aren't there yet...keep praying, he will answer..God bless

Astonishing!!! I listened to your testimony like I was hearing myself testify!! After listening to you I immediately went to the Father to pray about my marriage….and me in it!. I’ve repented of my arrogance to believe I could fix, change, even save a man from himself! I’ve given this marriage, this man and me over to Father God to do as He desires. He’s in charge and I will wait on Him to fix, change or deliver. I know He will.

8:18 hate when people say that. Just because you are called to love doesn't mean you need to stay in a toxic and abusive situation. God has called us to love others. Love doesn't mean letting that person walk all over you. Love doesn't mean getting everything they want. Sometimes love is letting someone go. Sometimes love is discipline and making sure people are held accountable for actions. Enabling somebody's bad behavior is not loving. God loves you enough to take you away from people who are hurting you!
It took me 29 years to be delivered from my narcissistic husband and yes, it was due to my wrongdoing from the start, but oh, how sweet was my walk with God during those hard times!

Abuse in every form, adultery, enslavement, extortion, death threats and more. I prayed and fasted daily for 3 years. I witnessed, exhorted, remained silent, and more. Finally, God delivered me. Then the next season of Hell ensued. I await recompense.

Decades prior to being married to the man I described, I had studied many many religions including my Native American history and belief system, Eastern religions, New Age, and more.
I firmly believed that all roads led to God, or a great Higher Power, etc., as long as a person was truly seeking to better themselves spiritually and in other areas, loving others, and was sincerely seeking.
I discovered otherwise in a life after death experience after bleeding to death. I was shocked.
Jesus the Christ truly is THE Way, and this life, as well as the afterlife, is truly all about Him.
In addition, what we now call the Zodiac was actually taken from the Hebrews (see Genesis) and changed by the Romans, then Greeks. The original names of the constellations and stars bore witness to the Creation, Fall of Man, worldwide destruction (flood), miraculous birth of the Savior, Redemption, and more. The moon, sun and stars, the seasons were made as signs in the Heavens to mark rhe calendar (see again Genesis).
Constantine, followed by the Roman Catholic Church took pagan deities, sacrifices and seasons/holidays and assimilated as well as converted them to “Christian” practices. Out of the Roman Catholic Church came the Protestant movement, and out of that the evangelical movement.
There is a distinct difference between a religion, and a relationship.
I highly suggest reading rhe Bible, preferably an older translation, as well as the Books of Enoch to greater understand how the turn has been corrupted to keep mankind in deception, and this deception is at work as we speak with the WEF, NEO, OWR, Plandemic, false climate crisis (yes we have pollution but I mean other areas such as China top polluter yet everyday citizens penalized etc) and more.

Wow... just wow. Did we marry the same man? lol... I lived exactly what you did, except for 7 years. My relationship with God came first. I prayed for direction and truth and he provided! What a trial. After 23 years of being single, my lesson to "look for a man's good fruits before marrying" is forever at the front of my mind.

I prayed God would take my desire for an intimate relationship w/a man away and he did. I'm almost 5 years out and very content.

I like to listen to people who say that if you're in a relationship with a narcissist, it's because of some your problems that need to be fixed. It's not the matter of blaming the victim for the abuse, which is terrible, demonic thing, often criminal, and there's no justification for that. But in my oppinion it's reasonable to ask "why I entered such a hell?" And to acknowledge my own participation in choosing the abuser as an intimate partner, and for accepting the abuse for so long. For me it's a vital part of recovery from narc abuse.
You’re correct, I attributed it to my immaturity. And lust. I physically want this person so much that I ignored what they were doing to me. Once I gathered self discipline, my desire for this person drastically changed. I put God first and this person became the distance.
Wow! I feel incredibly overwhelmingly blessed. After 33 yrs in a marriage with a narcissist when I didn’t even know what that was. I just took it to Jesus. Raised my children. Kept giving it all to Jesus. Prayed over him while he slept. Like a life explosion 💥 Jesus came through and delivered him and all glory to God…God is healing and delivering his narcissistic father too and healing relationships in our family now that we know about😮 this Jezebel spirit. Restoring has begun... my mum met my dad when she was 16 and married at 18... she wishes she did this sooner but I tell my dear mum she cannot dwell... we live together in my childhood home... my mum needed to get a mortgage even though my dad had 300,000 in the bank, and she had nothing... heartbreaking but... she is free from his narcissistic ways that were only growing over time

Got married to him at 20. All my family was against him. I never listened. I was always an obedient and respectful daughter to my parents. For some reason, I was blinded bec he's a smooth talker. It took me 48 yrs to finally realized that I married manipulative, gaslighting, deceitful lier who had multiple affairs. The first affair was back from n 1999. I have him another chance thinking that he will changed. He did for a couple of years that's the time he received Christ as his Lord and Savior. But in 2012, he was back in his old ways and turn his back from God. Being a Christian wife, I kept praying for him. Just this year 2024 last May, while he was confined in the hospital, bec of multiple compacted kidney stones in his kidney, I knew something was off. So I charged his 2 cellphones which I do not touch in respect of his privacy. I found out he's involved with a lot of women and even fathered a child. I gathered all his messenger conversations with all of them, pictures, money transfers
I was married for a month and half and her mask came off , I immediately went to attorney and filed for divorce.. she was cheating on me even before we got married she’s turned my “friends “ against me and it was the most demonic thing I’ve ever witnessed….
Ross Rosenberg has a video where he explains that leaving the narcissist and getting help often involves losing most of your friends in the process. Some of them you can reconcile with and others not, but with those you don’t, you realize you were “friends” for the wrong reasons. I moved overseas many years ago and recently my old best friend divorced from a raging borderline PD person. Almost all of our former mutual friends abandoned this prayer warrior, major church volunteer, who does voluntarily missionary work at the cost of career, financial well being, and personal safety. Yet most of the church walked away instead of offering a helping hand or shoulder to cry on. I’m devastated on behalf of my friend but on the other hand, we learned who our real friends actually were.
20 yrs, infidelity occurred to make me stop and analyze how this built up.

Your married life sounds so much like my life story. At the time, I had no idea of narcissistic behavior or sociopaths, but knew something was wrong. Looking back, it was the "unequally yolked" situation. I prayed before the marriage and when I did not receive an immediate NO, I continued with my plans. What a hard lesson to learn that God is sometimes silent and that is HIS answer. Long story short, I refused to quit and he left me after 7 yrs together (dating and married time). There were many events in that 7 years where I learned some cold hard facts. I was a basket case, but God never disappoints and always restores his children to a better life than before. P.S. I had no professional therapy (because he had drained my finances). Only my Bible and my church, but God's guidance brought me through.

Umm no. That is a false teaching. If people divorce just because they are stubborn and won’t comprise with their spouses in that case they should not remarry, unless on they are remarrying their former spouse. In pretty much all other cases remarriage is Biblically permissible. If your spouse cheated on you, abused you (sexually, physically, or psychologically), or even if they refused to fulfill their conjugal responsibilities you have a Biblical right to leave and find a spouse who will actually be good to you.
You should be ashamed of yourself for telling that to hurting vulnerable people. You are an ungodly Pharasy.

I also married a narcissist, an abusive narcissist. As a missionary child whose parents lived in another country, this was difficult on my parents and myself. I felt shame for what I had done but chose to rely on God. I trusted God in my shame and fear of my husband. But God finally allowed me to get pregnant and my child gave me someone to care for and protect. My son was 10 months old when I separated from my husband. I tried everything I could to save the marriage until I also was Biblically released and so divorced. It was final 3 days prior to my 10th anniversary. God has taken care of my son and me through all these years since.
She went through our 24-year marriage as a spawn demon pretending at our church. Our kids left when they turned 18, and said, Thanks for everything Dad, don't know how you're going to stay with Mom. Everyone knew she'd been sleeping around year after year after year. I finally asked God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit to deliver me from this in-face-screaming narcissistic demon spawn. After this last attempt on my life, I got a retraining order successfully and started my way out. She refused to work and left everything up to me. I successfully sold my house and decided to leave the state to help me and my beautiful family to heal. Glory to God.

54 years and I am out as of March 22nd 2023. I knew something was wrong but he and his family convinced me it was my problem. A councellor, my fourth, told me he was a narcissist but that only I could decide to leave. 12 years later I did my homework, I have been married to a covert narcissist all along. His mother was also a narcissist, I can forgive them because they are very sick people who don't know it. I am moving on with my life, alone...... I feel like damaged goods but am confident that my God can heal all wounds.
I was bound to him for nine years too. God delivered me by having him file for divorce after I filed for legal separation. Now I’ve been in court for eight years straight. He’s alienated three out of five of my children. They don’t stop.
I am Christian and 18 years ago I had a child with this narcissist who literally controlled my life even though we broke up. Now after 20 years and I am now 46 with nothing to show in my life and with a adult child who he molded into his twin. I am so bitter and angry for the years I have wasted.

I've been living with a narcissist for almost 10 years and am praying for God to deliver me out of this situation

This is what I heard the LORD say to me after a 32 year marriage w a covert malignant narcissist. He was bringing me out of abuse, manipulation, lies, disjunction, into a promised land I didn’t even know existed. I now have peace, tranquility, and building my identity in God and His Word.
Praise the Lord! I'm on my journey to freedom now after 18 years I finally learned about covert narcissism and the scales have fallen from my eyes. I see clearly now that he is unable to be a husband to me and the "man" I married was actually a mirage of everything I told him I wanted is a husband.
I was in a 12 year marriage. GOD HAS CLEARLY DEIVERED ME OUT from him using my credit to get credit cards without my knowledge, using my credit and savings to buy a home, and then informing me that he was moving his heroin using girlfriend 20 years younger into our home. I have had the joy of God showing me how much He loves me through this. My husband claimed to be a pastor. I have true peace now. Living with a liar is so dark. Having God walk me through this has been incredible. I live beside my daughter in an amazingly beautiful safe place. ❤

oh girl... let me have a sit!!!! my husband was a passive aggressor, it was awful!! it took me sooo long to wake up until he cheated on me and blame me for going thru his stuff and finding out... it was the worse season of my life! therapy after therapy.. only God knows my tears! I heard for my entire marriage- "i never said that", he had excuses for every action but the most horrible was that i was ignored , invisible.. until the day i couldn't take anymore and kicked him out and all his stuff, he cheated on me for more than 4 years. All this time God lifted me up, i got strong by His power and mercy, i went to school, im in nursing working full time, God heals hearts, He makes everything new!! So many days i want to die! But the Lord hugged me! We have a beautiful life ahead of us! One day i woke up with a very strong thought- "Get up and live!" Theres life for us, theres new chances! my husband now is depressed, sad, im doing divorce and he doesnt want.. Life turns around! You're wanted, you're precious, you're the love of God's heart!

One month ago I suddenly changed my prayer to this one “ Lord , Heavenly Father , please stand up for me, like earthly father would do. Stood up between me and my husband . Protect me and save me from emotional and verbal abuse of my husband, from his manipulations . Do not let my husband emotionally abuse me and other people as well . “ Now I barely see my husband in home , he is busy all the time . And when he is at home he avoids me as well as I avoid him and his love bombing . Since I used to be by myself I consider his this absence benefits for my well being , emotional and physical health. But I doubt HE feels this way. I guess his demons can’t attack me through him by giving him ideas HOW to screw me and get my emotions because God Himself stood up for me!

I also married a narcissist liar who was already married to someone else. God has allowed me to leave the so called “marriage”after 17 years. God released me also from a broken covenant. I’m totally free now. Divorce will be final soon. Nothing is wasted from that 17 years.. God was with me the entire time. I kept my trust in God.
However, I didn’t listen in the beginning. I since repented and humbled myself.

Me too! 20 long , difficult years of trials, tears and prayers. When I did finally leave, it was not easy. But God gave me grace to do so. I claimed Psalm 18:19b , “ He delivered me because he delighted in me.” Our God is in the business of deliverance. He will hear the cries of His children and rescue them, restore and renew them. Silly me I did 45 years it was only Holy Spirit that did drastic things to get me out, I didn't realise either until several months after the separation.
Same story, but from a husband’s perspective. I’m now 8 years past a toxic marriage. For that I’m thankful. However, now that my/our 6 kids have been totally turned against me, I awaken every day to feeling as if I’m suffocating through a slow and painful death. Hoping and praying for my kids to awaken and return to me before I die

Thank you, Kris. Yes, God delivers, heals, restores. As for me, I cried, "Jesus help! Rescue me." He did within several hours. It was frightening but God delivered me in the most outstanding manner. I left him but his narrative was it was a mutual decision. It was not, I had to leave as the rage, devaluing, verbal abuse was too much! Sixteen days before the wedding, Praise Jesus!

I too married someone who I very well knew wasn’t the right one for me and I ignored that thought. It took over 20 years of pain but God got me out and for that I’m grateful. I’m also grateful for the way God used that time to work in my heart and grow me. God has healed me and continues to heal me daily. Anyone who is in a dark situation, take heart. God knows and he has your back. Pray for a way out. It may take time. In the meantime immerse yourself in God’s word and in prayer. Pray for clarity. Release your partner to God and whatever he decides to do in regard to that partner.

I only learned the word narcissist at my 50th year being married. The tears and hurt have taken me 2 years to deal with it. My prayer right now is Lord please do not let me cry in front of him. Divorce should have happened many years ago. Going on 51 years married ,divorce is not my option. But huge boundaries are up. AND I am speaking to the right people for Christian support. I CAN do all things ,through Christ who strengthens me.

I understand very well, @D L. I stayed for 20 years. He abused our son in ways I either wasn't aware of, or turned a blind eye to because I was trying to respect him as head of the house. Looking back now, it's hard to believe how deceived I was. I did finally stand up and leave but so much damage could have been prevented if only I would have had the courage to leave at the first (or second or third) red flag warning

Kris, It's been almost 33 years for me. I get sick every time I think about it. The Lord revealed to me in December '22 what I was seeing for so long but was not able to call it for what it is. I couldn't believe it! Never thought I would ever want to leave him the way I do now. because all those other times I thought he was trying to change. NOT!!! I am so disgusted with myself and with him. I repented and still repent every time I think of how I did not regard God in my decision to marry him back then. I made a horrible choice, and I have lived in despair for all these years. After the Lord revealed his porn addiction, adulterous affairs- even a child resulting in one of those adulterous affairs, the lies, profiles on 2 dating sites, drinking problem, not to mention the verbal, emotional and physical abuse I've endured. Yet, I decided to fast and pray even though I know and have been through all these things, to know what I should do next. "Wait" was impressed in my spirit. It's been 5 months since then. He tries "love bombing" in the attempt to get me to believe he's changed but I know that devil hasn't left him. He lays low in order to pounce on me again, but I've seen this cycle of behavior many times before. I KNOW what I'm dealing with now and, with the Spirit's help, will NEVER fall into that trap again! It's hard to wait though. I feel like I'm trapped with... a lion! I want to be free; however, I want God to do all He desires in me to change me to who He wants me to be. I am trying to trust Him and want to with all my heart. THIS IS SO HARD. Please pray for me...
Just be patient and keep trusting God and jump when he leads you to jump no matter how scary it may be, also pray constantly. God delivered me 7 years ago from a 23 year marriage, I waited on him and I couldn't have planned it out better myself . I have my 5 children and I am free doing what I have always wanted, it took alot of patience and trust .
God also told me to "Wait" when I felt like just running for the hills. He was working while I was enduring , I needed to learn what I have learned from all of that and I would do it again if that was the only way to learn it.
Please please leave, get out as soon as you can. Don’t wait too long; God will come forward to help you when you take the first step. Save yourself. Every day, moment of truth and dignity is precious.
Not a “lion” but a “liar”. My favorite is Jesus is the “Lion of the tribe of Judah”. Think about this: the devil walks around as a roaring lion. I misunderstood you at first about doing it again. I thought you meant you would get back into a narc relationship again if you didn’t wait and learn what God was showing you in this one. But it’s all good because He talked to me.
I was married to a narcissist for 25 years & didn’t have a relationship with God during that time. I saw all of the red flags but, chose to look past them, in the hope that things would eventually get better/I could make him happy. After three rounds of marriage counseling, nothing got better. I was miserable.
A very kind man who worked at a store where I bought my horses’ feed would chat with me while loading feed in my vehicle & could tell how sad I was all the time. After explaining a bit about my troubles, he suggested taking my situation to God. I had never thought about doing so but, after he suggested it a couple of times, I finally did.
Needless to say, between establishing a relationship with my creator & my Lord & savior and the kindness of this gentleman, I found the strength to finally end the marriage.
I believe that God brought this man into my life, so that I would find Him and subsequently, deliver me from an unhealthy marriage!❤

I suffered 26 years before God freed me. I made such a huge mistake and I found out on my honeymoon. So many red flags for me too but I was head strong and thought he would change. He didn’t but in fact things got worse. I prayed and went to counseling many times. My heart broke because my dream of a happy marriage was elusive no matter how hard I tried. Thank you for sharing. God delivered me from marrying a man like this. I wanted to be married so badly.. I thought I finally found the guy. But three weeks after the engagement his colors came out full force. I would love to say I just walked away... but I went back a few times. God threw sooooo many flags on the field. Eventually I got it. The thing was I wanted to be married before 40 and at least have the opportunity to have children. Alas... I am turning 44 this year.. never married.. no kids. And I will say this... what I went through for a handful of years with him brought me so close to the Lord. I wish it didn't take that but God used my crying out to Him about my ex to work on MY heart. I now enjoy a close relationship with Jesus. I still would like a godly spouse... but I will not rush it.. I won't control it.. and I won't force it. It was my own fault I went back and forth with him. It wasted a number of years for me... but God wasted none of it if that makes sense!
I rushed to marry around 40 to a narc in the hope of a family...she future faked me for ten years, while i sponsor her immigration papers, college, and a master degree...i finally realized she was manipulating me with my dreams of having children while taking everything i could provide her. Once i filed the papers, her colors came out fully. A horrible and empty person...i do feel closer to God than ever in my life, cause He carried me over the nightmare of completing the divorce proceedings...God protects His children, and He has his time for everything...
I also never realized I was married to a Narcissistic person until we were married 40 years and He passed away. By then our children were grown and I was on my own and realized what an unhealthy relationship I was in. I no longer had someone critizing everything I did, I didn't have to walk on eggshells anymore! I was free to do what I wanted without getting yelled at or ignored. I remember praying to God to help me get through this marriage. And he did, He just took his sweet time.

Our story is so very similar, exactly 9 years for me too.
So many times I prayed and cried for God to get my baby daughter and I out. It boiled down to my choice each time. The very last time- I took my daughter & I and fled with just the clothes we had on. I’m still reeling from the separation abuse BUT now I’m in a beautiful new home, everything in it donated, an Angel of an attorney fighting the demonic ex - pro bono. My war is still raging but I have God’s peace that surpasses all understanding in me this time.

It doesnt take God any amount of time, let alone 9 years or more, to deliver anyone from an abusive relationship. He gives you the information when its time and its up to you to truly hear Him and OBEY.
My story is very similar to yours, but it took me 28 yrs to realize how bad my marriage was and after I left him God showed me he was a covert narcissist... Everyone was against me leaving him because we are Christians and because everyone says how God hates divorce but nobody understood that in church he was a Christian and at home he was horrible but I oder him 1 1/2 ago and filed for divorce it's been hard but I must trust God 🙏

If Christian's judge you for not staying in a marriage like you had, then they aren't truly Christians! God doesn't want you to be abused & He will rescue you if you give it to Him. I know he did it for me and I was also physically abused.
27 years for me. It took 27 years to be delivered.
You are telling my story too. 25 years of marriage hell and I did the same thing "I will win him over with my love" and all the other phases, but that doesn't work and it just got worse. I didn't know about narcissists until after the divorce when after year we got back together (i felt like an idiot) and then things spiraled quickly. After research, I realized what was going on. They are hard to get rid of and I cried out to God for months, on my face on the bedroom floor. He finally got into legal trouble and was sent to prison. I was left a broken, sick mess, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. After he was in prison for about a year i got a call from the jail, He had died of a heart attack. Don't judge me as this was a huge relief. Then I was experiencing Complex Grief and PTSD and had to go to counseling to quit crying every minute of the day. I am convinced they are sent by the devil to try and destroy us. It has been 5 years and I am just now feeling some healing but I don't feel like I will ever be "normal" again. Yes i take responsibility for marrying him and being out of Gods will.

Im on 29yrs of marriage and just now realizing there's a name for how I've been treated since our honeymoon when I was left in our hotel room in tears. He blamed me bc he told me that I was selfish and childish in my tearful reaction to his critical rude treatment. The love bombing obviously ended and many other narcissistic traits became the norm in the relationship.
Sadly, I see this arrising in our sons, and relationshop avoidance in our daughter.
