My god, how is it that this feels more like Star Trek than the real version? I'll admit I actually like Enterprises and it's intro (I know, feel free to hang me later) but even putting my bias aside, this at least has a sense of journey or adventure to it, just. The real song make the into sequence boring and lazily quiet. At least Faith of The Heart somehow sucks you into the visuals and makes everything feel like it's moving at a nice pace. God damnnit Discovery. The one thing I thought I might actually like and even then you screwed it up. FML.
@@celtichistory I never hated enterprise, exept for the intro song... :D It felt so post 9/11 overly american-patriotic. As a non-american, it made me cringe every time i heard it... Sorry :D
I will take Faith of the Heart over Discovery's "composer" falling asleep on his piano any day of the week. You know what, Enterprise has a damn good intro song, fight me!
It makes such a difference when you put an uplifting and inspiring song over this intro. I actually didnt mind Discovery so much, but the intro definitely felt too much like Westworld/Game of Thrones to me.
I don't like it, it's not very Star Trek, more like someone went "Yeah just put the ships, the hand signal and the other stuff in there, it will be fine", doesn't look like it had thought or the Star Trek care put into it.
If you look at things like the shuttle-bay shot of the ship , and the phaser's, it's literary the concept art of the show thrown into moving CGI form lol
Honestly? This mix of the Discovery intro with the Enterprise song fits really well. It gives it the same vibe as Enterprise had (which I loved). This may have been done to mock both title sequences, but I think it worked well.
With the exception of Alexander Courage's excerpt there really is nothing epic or stand-out in terms of Discovery's opening theme, it isn't in anyway memorable. The visuals are not in keeping with the other Star Trek series, in the sense that there are no shots of the ship in space. In every other Star Trek series, the ship has been as much a part of the show as the cast, and this credit sequence gives us some cell-shaded version of the ship flying over sepia paper. The whole lead up to the premiere, the time the series is set in, the fact that it looks very much like terrible JJ-Trek and it's troubled production, it's yet again about Klingons, has left me indifferent and uninterested. I never thought I would say that about a Star Trek series.
Some animator made this intro with nothing but some stock photos, some TOS props, and a few dozen bags of cocaine, and CBS just went along with the first draft. Oh, and the theme "music" is just that same animator OD-ing and passing out on top of a piano
You know what? I liked the ENT opening (visuals and song), it was all about humanity's sense of adventure, pushing the limits of what they knew at the time. STD's opening is just bland "I fucking love science!" and "muh symbolism", it's the Fringe main title without Andrew Kramer's plugins for After Effects.
Don't soil Enterprise with Disco please! I know a lot of people don't like the Enterprise intro, I personally quite liked it, even the theme tune, you can't deny the lyrics fitted Enterprise perfectly! Disco though, everything about it is just unimaginative! The titles, rather like the show itself focus on aesthetic rather than substance. Sad times for Trek, and Doctor Who as well. Quality of that's dropped like a lead balloon as well.
I feel like discovery is doomed to fail. Considering it’s on a paid subscription service and now we have Orville to watch for free. I just don’t feel like it’s work subscribing to cbs all access to get the show
It's disturbing that they fit so well. A pity, because I quite liked Star Trek Enterprise, even if they were having such a Time War it wasn't really going as it should have been (lasers, no screens, having the XCV-330... is like how it should have gone. Perhaps they could have included the concept of the Time War in a similar fashion to how the TNG "Yesterday's Enterprise" and "Parallels" ocurred, an attempt at tampering the timelines in the 31st century sends the XCV-330 (that in this case would be the ship that ST:Ent would be focused on) and ships from different points in the prime timeline into an unstable space-time fissure, leading them into the timeline where the Akiraprise is for a few episodes until they manage to get back and correct the timeline). At least in ST:Ent having that music represented that compared with the other StarTrek shows, the Federation hadn't been built yet.
God that intro is so bad, not even Faith Of The Heart can save it. This is the first time I've seen the STD intro, and the whole thing just screams member berries. "'Member living long and prosper?" "'Member communicators?" "'Member phasers?" "'Member Star Trek?"
This is unironically better than the actual opening, which was so understated that it was almost non existent. When I heard the first few notes I was expecting a cool TOS remix, but the intro was a complete disappointment.
I just love that Trans-dimensional Malaysian lady, Captain Philippa Georgiou / Emperor Philippa Georgiou, or whatever. well I have seen her in many movies, but this is her real role. And Star Trek: Discovery is the only show in history with over a dozen exec producers and producers, and every week is a different director, I even seen (Will Riker) directing an episode, lol. Are they even working for a company? Well CBS... I guess.
I actually quite liked Enterprise's intro, prefer the slower version of this song though. Wasn't the Federation yet and that montage of mankinds journey to the stars is actually really well done
NeonVisual.com I did, watched all of the series. Quite like the new direction they're going with it. Also The Expanse has such a beautiful song with their own montage
Please do an alternative version of the Discovery title sequence. Something in the spirit of the older Star Trek shows. Cos the official one is fucking trash.
The second I saw this intro I was like, how long until @NeonVisual is gonna show them how to have properly made the discovery intro, as their current is so out of place. I await your better version should you deem it worthy of your time to craft.
Oh my God. This is how is supposed to feel. Producers: stop trying to "improve" Star Trek, you'll never will, you are not that smart. And it appears CBS tried to apply this "Discovery-Neo-Intro-Sensation" to Picard, and sorry, not working. Space is the final frontier, not graphic design. Give us a correct, spaced-theme intro for both shows on next releases. #StarTredDiscovery #StarTrekPicard
It’s terrible isn’t it - for 60 years we had ships flying through space with orchestrated music (there’s a version of ENT out there too) and now we’ve got this shight
I assumed this was a joke intro but I watched it on TV and it's not, you just changed the music. This has got to be the worst star trek intro of all time. like really the worst. I never thought I would say it, but I prefer the enterprise intros over this. it's horrid, they couldn't even get this right its a nightmare.
No, please no! Archer's Enterprise was soo damn off :/ But I am missing the old intos like TOS, TNG, Voy and DS9. Was disappointed by Picard Intro, but Ep 1 kicked ass!
The tempo and rhythm match disturbingly well.
Oh crap. This actually works really well. This is goddamn PERFECT. Even the timing matches exactly.
This works way better than it has any right to.
Why is this so true
This is way more fitting. I did immediately think the new intro visuals would work better with the Enterprise theme song... and they do.
It's like CBS tried to copy HBO with their crazy intricate intros for their shows but didn't hit the mark
Exactly. This is a West World rip off.
Works better than the theme to the actual show...I like it to be honest. Nice.

I like the first intro song just fine, what i don't like is the more upbeat version of the later seasons, that was.... weird.
I will take Faith of the Heart over Discovery's "composer" falling asleep on his piano any day of the week. You know what, Enterprise has a damn good intro song, fight me!
Enterprise has a good opening song for discovery... enterprise should have stuck to archers theme ^_^
after watching the first two episodes.. the entire series seems to be a case of shoulda, coulda, wish you wouldn't
*Phaser, a weapon that's quite good at making people dead, comes up on screen*
"I'VE GOT FAITH OF THE HEART"
God help me, but I actually prefer this song to the dull theme they've used!
This song did pop in my head as I watched this intro.

The show's intro sequence is really terrible and not iconic or memorable at all. Even ENT had a better intro!
Cassandra Spencer Rancid lies are afoot.
ENT had one of the best firing intros thoug
Never understood the hatred for the song. It's a good song.

I never thought I would say that about a Star Trek series.
This is just perfect.
Thankfully for us who need their 90's Star Trek fix, the Orville has us covered :D
Who would have thought in 2001 that we'd be looking back on that Trek era with fondness?
OMG! That's gorgeous. Love that song.

At least the enterprise intro didn't seem to be making out that we'll mostly be exploring Michael Burnham's face and hands
It's disturbing that they fit so well. Its been a long road... 930 GOD DAMN YEARS
this actually works way better than the music they are using!
Brilliant! Clearly the producers learned nothing from the fan dislike over Enterprise's opening credits.
This has to be the funniest UA-cam channel for Star Trek fans!
I wonder how this would mesh with the Monty Python's Flying Circus intro.
Craig Amiano That's fucking genius
Am i the only one who liked Enterprise's Intro?
I liked the Discorvery opening but this better than original! :)
God that intro is so bad, not even Faith Of The Heart can save it.
This is the first time I've seen the STD intro, and the whole thing just screams member berries.

Thank you
Thumbs up all day.
The visuals for the discovery intro would do better opening a documentary of ST:D.
"Tactical alert. Polarise the hull plating." - Johnathan Archer (Way too many times to list here.)
Sadly, I think I'm the only one that considers this an improvement over the actual theme music.
i love this song and this show 🪲

It is a sad day for star trek when faith of the heart works better than the publicised music. this trek reboot is a disaster unfolding.
I actually quite liked Enterprise's intro, prefer the slower version of this song though.

check out the lost in space reboot intro

I can actually picture them using this as a gag, if they decided to have elderly Archer or T'Pol drop in.
How about the Star Trek Series with Scott Bakula called Enterprise??? When will You do that Intro in 4K???
God please not Faith of the Heart! ... But it fits soooo well....
and i thought Enterprise was the lowest point of Star Trek franchise
It actually wasnt. Just like other treks, the first and second season were subpar. But season 3 and 4 were great, fight me.
Why the hell does this sound better?
I'm not even mad.
Haha. Brilliant... such a good fit.
wtf is the Da vince old stile intro ? man i fell so bad wehen i think of the DISCOVERY TV show
Much better.
More Bond than Trek
I don't care what anyone says about that song...it's too good for the trash that is "Star Trek" Discovery
Please do an alternative version of the Discovery title sequence. Something in the spirit of the older Star Trek shows. Cos the official one is fucking trash.
it's not Discovery - It's Enterprise

Is it safe to assume that the Shenzhou and Discovery won't be making an appearance on your vids?
If I can get hold of a decent STD model I'd certainly have Voyager destroy it.

seriously?

Works better than the limp-wristed piece of wanna-be Mad Men score they actually have in the show.
It should be the slow version, not the crappy fast pace season 3 version.
😂

Its kinda bad...
eeewwwwwww

I'm crying. Not because I like this but because that show is literally shit1
There's no way that is the official music...0_o Sounds like something from Hart of Dixie or something...
Of course not. That's the intro from seasons 3 and 4 of Star Trek Enterprise.
I din't know that. Just watched it, it sucks horribly on that too. This music has no place in Star Trek.
