Having played this, the ending was very anti-climactic since we were able to convince the Behir that they needed some worshippers and that the Pechs would be ideal so they wandered off to find them. Maybe give the Behir a treasure hoard to encourage a battle with them for a final boss fight. Then require special equipment (block & tackle, picks, etc.) to clear the stairs to the greater caverns as to set things up for a return visit later.

Behir is the obvious final boss fight, but I also kinda like the surprise social encounter. I like the idea of needing some kind of special thing to unlock the stairs, like maybe only after you help the xorn, or marid, or something.

I ran this adventure in the "tournament mode". They explored about 80% of the cave in 4h, and gathered 22 points in the end. It was really nice. I also made my own map and used it instead of the original map, which added to the immersion. It's an "Ok" one shot, but that's about it. I personally prefer when One shots have crazy premises. Dungeon Crawling can be done in the middle of any campaign.

Did you say Perch creatures (Pech)? heh, I laughed out loud! Yep, this is just a demo for a taste. Played the original, converted for 5E. A hack-n-slash crawl with a lot of monsters hanging around playing together in harmony... just waiting for adventurers to enter their home. The Lesser Caverns were the best part of the adventure, if very random and not much story. Fun idea for the Greater Caverns (not featured yet), but I can see a lot of adventurers - who hate dungeon crawls - really NOT enjoying this one, especially with what the greater caverns have in store for them. It's a fun twist (concept), but be warned it can drive the party nuts - like it did to my team. I liked the twist as a DM. My players did not. Nice run through. Much success to your channel.

I assume the Greater Caverns will be in the full release, but not totally sure. These 5e conversions do feel fairly faithful to the originals, but with all their nonsensical monster ecology intact!

10 minutes for one person to gather 600 marbles, in the dark, with water across the floor... Yeah I'd change it to one hour if the entire party is doing it.

Can we take a second and talk about the map itself? I doubt whoever drew that ever played dnd in a VTT and had to wall things. It is *really* bad, borderline unplayable because of that reason: The squares just never line up. Especially bad, if you are looking for an example, at the bottom stairs.

I have not put it in Roll20 yet to see, but I refuse to disparage this amazing map art! It's a big thumbs up from me.

@@RogueWatson Ignore my comment, with 10ft square its better... old maps were 10ft, this one is too, totally my bad.

One marble per second, that would be impressive.

Right? Haha, like some kind of cruel gameshow.
