My first exposure to your play was when i was searcing for a response to 1.d4 and i loved your course on the dutch.
I later also got your black lion course and must say, i have even more fun with that! Love seeing your games and you playing the openings in your courses. You put your money where your mouth is and I respect that!
Also, "Black Lion" is a much cooler name than "pirc defense transposing into a philidor, hanham variaton".

Thank you for all your videos Simon! One of the things I like the most about these speed runs is to see how different you can be at the board: violent and hilarious with 3 minutes, calm and very educational with 10.
Great work. Please keep on going for ever :)

Enjoyable video as usual! I really like playing the Black Lion - it is great when you get the opportunity to push Gary and Harry - I used to really resent having to castle, but these days I am finding I enjoy those games too.

I'd like to see more of these. Definitely talk about the purpose of each move. What both sides plans are. Maybe even go to 15 min games

I’m much lower rated (have been re watching the others) but this is also really great instructional content.
So good at explaining key ideas and concepts to us non GM folk. Thanks Simon!

Thank you for sharing ! It's always useful to watch your longer games. (I'm around 1900 on lichess. Started chess 3 years ago at age 39.)
By the way the game against mister Kramnik was a pity, because you got him good at first, but... blitz is blitz after all.

Can’t believe there’s a GM providing free coaching and people are in the comments section correcting his grammar. The internet 🤯

The corrections were made politely, accepted politely, and the problem was fixed. What is wrong with that?

that little pawn push to stop his knight getting access to e2 , was a nice touch! hands up, not something i would of considered , that's more of a holistic looking forward that i need to do more of, I've got a horrible habit of burning time on specific lines that never happen

That black hole graphic behind you is pretty freaky, and it makes me wonder if we're not all living in a black hole. Might our entire universe not exist with in an infinitessimally small singularity in the middle of a much larger black hole?

    🎶"Mate, mate, mate the f*cker!"🎶
Great to see the speed run series back. Would be greater still if Simon could start a new one. Take us back up the ladder from about 1000 level, where the learning possibilities start to appear. I always feel that beyond 2000 in speed runs there's less to learn as it's just two very strong players battling it out.
Most of us viewers are below the 1600ish level.

No calculating, maybe a mistake here and there, but the 2200 had no chances. You make 2200 level players look bad.
