Monserrate is the most important hill in Bogotá, one of the main tourist attractions in Colombia and its capital. At 3,152 meters high, it is an ideal place for hiking.
Climbing Monserrate is the perfect plan for a morning in Bogotá, with a total route of 2,350 meters and 1,605 steps. During the way up there are several kiosks where you can buy food, and at the top is the emblematic church of Monserrate and some restaurants. Entrance is totally free and the hours are from 5:00 am to 1:00 pm.
For the descent you can do by the same way, but you can also use the funicular or the cable car to see the incredible view of Bogotá from Monserrate.

how long did it take you to walk up? even with filming and the stops

At that hour there are a lot of people climbing
No. Some gangs are in the area. They will stolen you everything. You must be sure police officer are in the area. Better after 8 am with several people on site
