Just a mention about oil capacity to clarify: the 3.4 litres printed on the casing by the oil window is actually the dry capacity. The ER5 manual states capacity after oil and filter change is 3 litres, oil change without filter change is 2.8 litres. Apologies, i meant to reference this in the video but I've done a short on it showing manual etc, here: ua-cam.com/users/shortsMOljERF4Yts?feature=share
Great vid Stu. Really helpful for someone who needs a little boost in confidence to do it. If you have a Dremel or similar you can put a little slit in the master cylinder bolts and use a flat head on them.
Thank you Charlie, much appreciated! That's a good plan on the Dremel; I do have one but it's mains powered. I will give that a go I reckon it's the best chance to get the old ones out!
Not sure yet. I'll seek advice on that I think... Maybe I'll end up replacing the whole chamber yet. Anyway, at least it's some subject for a new video one day!

Kawasaki call for 3.4 litres of oil It clearly states on the engine case. Pal just saying lol
So you are a 100ml short of 1/2, a litre short of oil pal
Ah no, the 3.4 is from dry. It's 2.8 if you're just doing oil, 3 if you're doing oil and filter and 3.4 from dry/rebuild
Great video, all that hard work paid off 😊
Thank you! I enjoyed doing it, even if there were a couple of hiccups ;)
What are you going to do about the master cylinder?
