I don't think I've ever been this excited about an oil before. :) I have a Toyota with the infamous oil burning 2AZ-FE 2.4L. I'm the second owner and was planning to do the Berryman's piston soak flush treatment then went with VRP instead and not risk it. Amazingly, On the first use I'm seeing results! Now using Vrp on 4 vehicles. A Scion, 2 Subaru's with the D-45 boxer and a Prius. Interestingly they all have had a little increase in mgp's too.
I had bits of carbon in the oil catch can and when I went to pick them out, they just dissolved/absorbed into the paper towel. I'm thinking, in a way this is a good sign this oil does what it advertises.
Very thorough analysis, without being overly long video. I definitely prefer the Wix standard filters above all else for cost/performance when doing 5k mile OCI. I hope you keep us updated!
Thanks! I plan on doing another video during the next oil change. I also like the standard Wix filters. I put an AC Delco on to finish up this OCI, but back to Wix the next oil change.
Got a 2014 GMC Terrain (2.4L Ecotec) that I like to think was/is run "Clean" using Dexos Full Synthetic Oil, often at 3-5K miles (well before the OLM of 7500miles/12 months) during its first 116K miles. Been running VRP for almost 1000 miles now. When I checked the Filter (Fram Ulta Synthetic, originally Snow White in color) @811 miles the filter was Pitch Black... It didn't look "unhealthy" (No abnormal or excessive sludge/debris, if pressing on a pleat I can see the white filter media appear until the oil soaks back in...) So as suggested I'm confident of Valvoline's stance that VRP is "balanced" in such a way that it won't overwhelm the filter. So far the Oil still looks clear/golden. Debating if I should swap in a fresh filter (and top off as needed to replace any lost "filter" oil) "just because" to give my first OCI of VRP its BEST chance to Clean up for its first 3000 or so miles. I've gotten a good baseline Oil Analysis before running VRP... So hopefully any of my results "Post-VRP" will just see more improvements...
Nice. I do all of my oil changes myself and I am currently running VRP in three vehicles. I just changed the oil in a Kia with the 2.4L and 134,000 miles after a 3000 mile OCI and the oil was black. There was a very small amount of carbon deposits on the filter media. I have always run synthetic and 5000 mile OCI’s on it. I think the people that are finding sludge on their filters are severely neglecting their vehicles or have direct injection and idle/short trip a lot with longer OCI’s.
@@RevandShinewithRiley My daughter's Caravan was consuming oil. 2,500 miles in, no oil consumption. I changed the oil pan pan and valve cover gaskets earlier in the year. The engine was clean from running Valvoline full synthetic but it was still using oil. I believe it had a stuck piston ring that is no longer sticking. The van runs much smoother with the R&P.
@@usocrazy6133 Changed Spark Plugs in my Terrain after the VRP Oil change. Discovered an Oil Leak in the Cylinder #1 Spark Plug well... Rechecked it Yesterday after almost 3 weeks and while it wasn't swimming/drowning in Oil there was still some down there. While it hasn't caused performance issues or codes (yet), and I could probably continue monitoring/checking for Oil... Will probably be time for a new Valve Cover Gasket and a peak "under the hood" when the time comes for the next Oil Change. Not exactly a Win-Win... But I suppose I'm glad I discovered the leak BEFORE it became a problem... People with the Ecotec 2.4L tend to talk about its tendance for issues. While not fun I suppose a fresh Gasket after 116K and the chance to check things over should be seen as an Opportunity vs a Detriment...
SO nice to hear and see a GIRL doing an oil filter change. Peace and GIRL POWER RULE.
Happy New Year young lady too. Peace vf 😀😀😀😀😀😀
Haha, I’ve been turning wrenches for a long time. Happy New Year.

Your Toyota you said showed improvement in oil burning. How much oil burned before? How much oil burned now?
BERRYMAN B12 is being used for piston soak to clean the upper part of the item. You are cleaning the underside of the piston. FACT !!!! 😀😀😀😀😀
Nice buy on that chevy, the previous owners must have changed the oil regularly.
