Very good explanation about how the reel winds the line counter-clockwise (CCW) and how you need the line to come off the reel clockwise (CW). Some people aren't aware of this. Now with a spinning reel, it winds the line in CW, and the line must come off the spool CCW.
I have found that for me to remove the line from the reel, I put a dowel in a cordless drill and wrap the line around the dowel and turn on the drill and wind the line around it, as far as the other steps, I do exactly the same procedure that you use.
