    Thank you for making sense of the cardigans. I knew something was up with cardigans but I couldn’t put my finger on it. This cleared a lot of things up.

    Thank you. I have 3 petite fine knit cardigans that I love because they are so soft but I rarely wear them because I can't style them. I always feel frumpy. I've decided to start using them with lounge pants at home rather than a sweatshirt. That should be a step up at home. I will try them tucked into jeans though and see what I can do.

    Sheri here! This was super helpful! Sad to see that so many of the looks that you mentioned to stay away from are still being sold in so many places… it makes it tricky to avoid them. This video really helped!🙂

    Great information! I have a fine-knit black cardigan that I pretty much only wear as a sweater with jeans, dress pants, and skirts. I was looking for other options to include in my wardrobe and this helps! Thank you!

    I'm rewatching this video and loving the brilliance coming forth! So side note though, that matchy cardigan-to-dress look is even out for 6 year olds. Zipporah (my 6 year old) won't do it 🤣!

    Great video Nada, thank you. As well as seeing what is in style, I found it useful to see examples of what’s no longer in style as this helps me edit out the frump from my wardrobe. Good restyling tips for dates items too! 😊

    Loved this video and the examples shown. Now to retire the frumpy fine knits and bring in a chunky neutral cardigan!

    I can totally relate to living in Florida and having a sweater when you are inside. I am often cold. Do you wear chunky sweaters in Florida? They seem like they would be so hot. What are some sweater recommendations for 90 degree Florida weather in the fall and spring? Like now when the temperature is already flirting with being 90?

    Sheri here! Could you say how to pair a colored non-neutral cardigan with tops and dresses that have color or prints? Or do you just always recommend a neutral cardigan with colors and prints and a colored cardigan with neutral tips and dresses?

    Another thing you can do to update/funkyfy a cardigan (or blouse) is CHANGE THE BUTTONS. Most retail items have very generic, often cheap, looking buttons. Personally, I like vintage glass and rhinestone buttons.

    I always feel so frumpy in regular, hip-length cardigans, partly because I have narrow shoulders. Also, I can’t wear synthetics, which severely limits my choices. I like the new, waist-length V-neck ones, I’ve found a few of these in cotton, or the knee or duster-length, which I’ve found in viscose. H&M all-viscose cardigans and other sweater styles, like turtlenecks, are lifesavers for me. Sadly, they haven’t offered many recently, they all have polyester in them. Also, my favorite color, white, NOT cream, is super-difficult to find. I don’t look good in cream, nor does it work well with my other colors,

    I really hate those dropped-shoulder cardigans that have been everywhere. On petite me, those drop seams end at the elbow or lower, they look absurd and the sleeves never fit right, the armhole is so far from the body. I also hate those oversized, thick, chunky knits, the last thing I need is more chunk!

    I shrank my fine knit cardigans, on purpose, to waist-length and wear them, buttoned mostly up, as tops. I open or fold down the top buttons to give me a V-neck, which is much more flattering on me. I add great necklace, earrings or neck scarf, and they look much more modern this way. The only pattern I would ever wear in a cardigan is a stripe, maybe. Those floral ones are so dated.

  • @kimberlyperrotis8962
    @kimberlyperrotis8962 Рік тому

    Three-quarter length sleeved cardigans are dated, too, and not versatile. Mature brands just love 3/4-sleeves in everything, that says a lot! I buy long sleeves and push them up when I need to, then have the length for cold arms, too.

      A lot of those wrap cardigans can look line bathrobes.

      I have a super long rise so I’m always looking for elbow sleeves or 3/4 in nearly all my tops, because the eye stops wherever your clothing stops, and I want to call attention to my actual waist, which is not easily defined because of my long rise. Plus I’m a pianist so I’m always pushing my long sleeves up anyways!
