- The Logitech Z-2300 2.1 active speakers system replaced with replacement aftermarket satellite speakers is undeniable best from Logitech 2.1 stereo setups. Just watch this video music sound and bass excursion test without subwoofer grill for logitech subwoofer. I have upgrade stock satellite speakers to little bit louder, because stock small fullrange driver speaker can't beast as loud as sub. If you find second hand logitech Z-2300 under $100, take it, don't regret, it give amazing good price/performance. This history of 8 inch bass drivers began when Logitech choose Tang Band as the OEM manufacturer for their first THX certified multimedia speaker system Z-560 way back in the year 2000. @@Afura33 z2300 use bigger speaker driver and bigger box, z2300 have better bass. Not a lot, but have better.

One of the best shopping decisions of my life, I couldn't be happier with these, have still stock system, only had to fix controller a couple years ago, but everything works perfectly. In my opinion the best 2.1 system, has a lifetime in my place :D
Bought this speaker years back. They still sound great. Bass is still crazy, but I need to do what you did and replace the satellites with “fuller” sound speakers. Have them connected to a vintage system with a record player. I wanted them so bad back then that I wrote a bad check to Circuit-City!!!

I love this Logitech z2300 series speaker
I have had this set since 2006. Connected to a computer, where I listen to music, movies, and games. If someone today decides to upgrade this system, namely to change the satellites to something more advanced (since you don’t need to change the sub, it’s cool), I recommend purchasing a pair of "Klipsch RTP Satellite" 8 ohm, 50 watts. (They are from a 5.1 home theater, but you can only order two front ones) In short, with these Klipsch, the system reached a completely different level of sound! And the sound quality is just a new world! Recommend!

Still using my Z-2300 in 2019. But, I have gone through a LOT of satellites before finding the one that sounded superb and could take the full power every day. The best and perfect sats for me were the Cambridge Minx Min 12 Satellite Bookshelf Speakers. Acoustic suspension baffles. About 3" square, 25-200W and $75 ea. They are awesome!!! Getting to them, I went through: Classic Take 2, Polk TL-1, TL-2- and TL-3s. They all burned up in short order, wide open vol. Looking back, I believe the Z did not have enough power to drive them. They were all 2-ways and sounded very good but the mids burned out and one crossover. I replaced parts in them for a long time. Now, these Cambridge units are my hearts desire. Beautiful match. :)

I've got the system from someone for free because they don't need it anymore. No regrets. The satellites are not good but with a good pair of speakers the and the Z2300 sub you got a cheap but nice system.
I have one and I use it with my own satellites. Try Dayton B452-AIR, they work very well, just hook them up to the stereo outputs on the sub.

After 17 years of use Z-2300, I connected "Klipsch RTP Satellite" 8 ohm, 50 watts. to this sub instead of my native stock ones. And i strongly recommend it, you will get a system of another level!

Dark Sights maybe u aint using it correct, i can make my kitchen window flex, and all doors with half volume bass boost. I also modded it, it has removed high pass filter, and better box, belive it or not, it goes down to 17hz

Salut, je viens d'en recuperer un et j'ai bien envie de changer les sattelites tellement je les trouve sous dimensionné. Ceci a moindre frais. J'envisage des eltax concept mini, qu'en pense tu je m'y connais pas trop dans ce genre d'enceintes. C'est pour de la musique, telle quel je trouve qu'il y a trop de basse.
imma get a z5500 and use a JVC HX-Z30 as a center channel speaker. Will def. make midrange sound a ton better lol

I bought my z-2300 2nd hand and when I came home I realized the system smelled strongly of weed. So my room smelled like that for a couple of weeks. Either way, I love my z-2300. I replaced the shitty satellites with some 2-way Pioneer ones which sound much better.

Did you connect the z-2300 subwoofer straight to the speakers? If so, with what kind of cable? I am wondering if I can connect the sub straight to my Klipsch R-41PM...
@@fLrzi Damn I've come a long way in 2 years. My system is out of the world right now. But I did connect them to the plate amp on the subwoofer. I just cut off the ends of the RCA cables, bought some speaker wire, and merged them together. Word of advice though: don't do that. The amp on the z2300 is TRASH. It blew up $300 worth of speakers with clipping alone. Those speakers were able to take 3 times the power that the z2300 gave them, but the z2300 was so distorted it just blew them up. Set after set. Only thing good about the z2300 is the subwoofer driver. That is why I later bought 3 more and made a T-Line box for them. I thought they were good until I bought an SVS PB-1000. Then dual SVS PB-2000s. Then I went crazy and bought 2 SVS PB 16 Ultras. And now I must be insane because I have 2 JTR Captivator 4000 ULFs. You can kinda tell when I got a job from my subwoofers alone.
Long story short, don't use the amp from the Z2300 to power up your speakers if you want them to go more than 50-60% volume. It's trash, it sounds like trash, and it will blow up your speakers. Just get a normal amp. A good one is like $300. Less than if you blow up your speakers. Then get a splitter so you can connect the z2300 sub too if you want.

Hi, nice demo. I've been considering buying this system. However, I know th4 Bass must be some big thing, but can you tell me how the treble highs and mods sounded with original satellites?
Original satellites sound very well, but they can't hold long term power(loud sound)
@@Techscrews I actually meant to say, the Treble and mid-range highs.. Bass is good, but crisp clear treble and mids is great to hear. Seems most of these systems don't have a separate Bass and Treble control.

Has Anyone, ever figured out where the Crossover points are ? Logitech, was Very evasive, When I asked them years ago. The Reason, I want to know is that I was hoping to match the Woofer to "better quality" Satellites. But I do suspect that the "OG's" were Not up to the task to handle Anything lower than 200 hz at the Explosive SPLs of a THX certified product. That being said, The "compact monitors" I had hoped to use would be best crossed-over (" high pass") somewhere in the 60 to 80 hz range ( depending on the Slope of the 'X-cross-over"). While I'd like to The Low Pass portion to be in the Same Range … But, a 2nd Order slope / 12db or greater for the Woofer. Otherwise, I might be hunting for a "new" Sub ???

Dunno about the satelllites, but I'd guess they start somewhere around 150, as they vibrate quite a bit.
Have you guys come to a solution? I am also looking for replacement of the original sattelites, but i am not sure what to choose. 8 ohm and wattage is easy task. But the range of the speaker and the crossover thing is unclear. So i am searching for someone who has done it successfully and can share the experience of what he found and how it did work for him.

@@atanasdionisiev3031 The upper bass crossover limit is 150hz. There are ways to reduce it but that involves soldering different capacitor and resistor, as I think the filter is passive. And then according to the new crossover limit you decide on the mid crossover limits.
I haven't done shit as I'm too lazy at this point.

Z-2300 give better price/performance, because s730 cost around $400, which is totally sick for PC speakers.

@Koti M Yeah ab class amplifier is better than d class. But class d is for less energy consume and heat.
@Koti M I have both the Edifier S730 and the Logitech Z-2300 and the Logitech actually produces better sounding, deeper bass than the Edifier in spite of being a smaller subwoofer while the Edifier produces sharper, brighter highs, since the Edifier has two-way satellites it's not surprising that it produces better highs but the bass is the weird thing.

Go to eBay. They have a bunch there for like $80 USD, but shipping costs are probably really high.
Also this system is ancient, and it's been discontinued so you won't see _any_ in a shop at all. Finding one used, online is the only way to acquire one of these beasts.

You can simply use any speakers with 6-8 ohms

I'm working on a new video, how to make speaker cables for logitech z2300. but the easiest way is to buy an rca aux cable, cut the 3.5 mm jack and connect the rca cables to the new speakers and be done.

Very similar, but take new z623 or z625 if you dont need surround. Z2300 is very good system, but old and hard to find.

@@Techscrews Skar Audio, I've upgraded in fact to a 15" 1250RMS / 2500 Peak sub. Only paid $170 I believe. Mainly a car sub but nothing stops you from using it indoors.

We use to put 8 inch speakers in the bottom of a 5 gallon bucket with a little insulation glued to the walls and the lid bottom. We were kids so couldn't do any better xD

Как этому сабвуферу подключить колонки? С саба выходит по одному выходу на левый и правый, а на колонках по два входа на оголенные провода.

you need check your system if you hear distortion, because this audio test is recorded before z2300 get clipping. I listen one more time this video with my h600 headphones and there no distortion. Your system just can't playback bass, sorry!

Купил Я хваленую Logitech Z-2300 и послушал и продал к ебеням !!!! как после 60 % где то сателлиты жутко искажения дают , бас пердит больше чем бас дает ,и самый низ не играет , очень малой короб для 8 дюймового динамика ...... мой свен рояль р2 куда лучше играет !
и Logitech Z-5500 не берите, слушал тож они ещо хуже чем z 2300 в плане качества звука !
