@CDBELL1111 I totally relate... I've been setting it up for like the past 2-3 days so far and I've had mostly free time to do so for all those days. There's also that feeling where it's like you can't really get into a game until everything with Launchbox is just how you want it to be...
Anyone watching this video, for the love of everything, don't download PCSX2 1.4.0; that shit is several years out of date. Download the 1.5.0 development builds since those are significantly more current and stable.
Thanks for the tutorial, but I have a quick question. If you leave your games in their zip file, is that fine? Or do you HAVE to work with the iso file? Thanks!
As can be configured to start as a boot iso (full)?, With the configuration that shows on the video the games start as boot ISO (fast) and in some games it produces incomplete readings, It only happens in games with Multi Language
The beta version of LaunchBox will now download and set up PCSX2 for you (and help you keep it updated). If you feel adventurous you can download the beta now and check it out.
I use PCSX2 Configurator to handle that. Set your basic settings up that work for most games, then install Configurator and use it to save edited settings on specific games. forums.launchbox-app.com/files/file/1434-pcsx2-configurator-next/
Awesome Tutorial, i got mine working in a quickness and i already played 1 ps2 game... but the second game i just started to play seems to freeze on me every 30 minutes and i have to restart it again... what can i do or how can i fix this problem? hope i can get some help soon. :)
There is a way to use the dance pad for Dance Dance Revolution with pcsx2??? I have games but some directional combinations do not go... For example, right plus left or up... I read that with lilypad you can not configure, any suggestions? Thank you very much
LaunchBox tries to deduce what the name of the game is based on the file name. Make sure that the files you are importing into LaunchBox begin with the name of the game.
I got a 3770k, a 7970 OC 3GB, Z77extreme4 motherboard, can this setup run pcsx2 smoothly. Thanks in advance for any feedback. Also if there are any upgrades I can make that are reasonably inexpensive. Thanks again.
I didn't realise PAL games only ran at 50 FPS. I wonder how that affected fighting games like Tekken, since most fighting games are universally built to run at 60 FPS.
I'm not sure why but every time I try to run a game it gets to the first loading screen and then hang there, never getting any further. Does anyone know why this is happening?
main problem with these tutorials is they are obsolete and need to be removed or updated on a regular basis as the PCSX2 (now version 1.6.2 and is 32 bit were as nightly build is on pcsx2-v1.7.5093-windows-x64-Qt) and interface is not the same as in this tutorial.
Not really legal to download them off the internet, that would be piracy and is illegal in many countries. However, if you have your own disks you can use a few programs to get the ROM files off them, which is legal. Just look up a couple more tutorials.
I've never found pcsx2 to be as reliable as other ems like Dolphin or Demul. It does work, but it's very reliant on so many hacks and workarounds. Very often run into issues with it. Still, it's the only game in town and PS2 is obviously an essential console with many many exclusives and we are lucky to have it. Still, my fantasy is that the Dolphin team would create a new PS2 emu from the ground up...
Thank you very much for this wonderful video. I have only one question, If I have got the US version of this game, then the ps2_bios- which you have showed us (European type)- are functional?
Must just be me as usual, bs doesn't wanna work files moving around isn't making it work either. Step by step to the T. Using a 1900dollar gaming pc, isnt working. Easy setup would be someone making the damn emulator stuff run without users having to shift every god damn thing to make it run. This here that there, why don't one of you super geniuses set it up and put the completed setup out for release? How long have emulators been around and the smartest ones can't pull it off, thats friggin hilarious to me. I have a pretty expensive pc. Some people have garbage, this isnt. This makes it sound easy but then moving this file to here and that there oh and dont forget this and that, its alot of crap for a game man.
Anyone else spend more time setting up their emulators than actually playing the games? ^^"
I'm still setting up since before Thanks Giving, but having a blast.

This is a life of pcsx2ers
Lmao yes, and spend even more time watching UA-cam videos on it.
Setup and making everything work is better than playing. xD
Yet another brilliant easy to follow tutorial eta. Thanks from the UK

Had no idea. Its so bizarre that the last stable build was early 2016.
now we have pcsx2 1.6.0

2:35 where did you get the ps2 bios??
just seartch ps2 bios
Such an easy step by step guide to follow thank you.
Also, 10:02 ETAPrime is a Christie main and a man of culture confirmed.
Aligning Sprites was exactly what I needed. Thanks for producing these videos, they’re always a massive help! 😃
This was superduper helpful! Thanks a ton!
Where do I get these bios from ?
Good taste in ps2 games my dude
Boom! Thank you! Up and running!!!
this need be updated i cant play anything tryn follow this video on 1.6.0 on top of that there no bi your folder has me lost
Did you end up finding the binaries.? I can't find it anywhere
Hi ETA! I can recognize that voice anywhere lol
Not in the drop down is there another way to find it.
could you tell me or give me a link to where i need to download the bios
where you going to get the ps2 games
Thanks for the tutorial, but I have a quick question. If you leave your games in their zip file, is that fine? Or do you HAVE to work with the iso file?
Thanks!
cdvd failed to open. your computer may have insufficient resources, or incompatible hardwar/drivers. press ok to configure panel.
How to launch the games from Launchbox with the intro of the ps2? it skips it
Do you have a video set up for Ps3
Hey can I follow the same steps for this for the ps3 emulator?
THANK YOU so much for this video
how to get the bios?
so if i need to add more games just add them into the games folder thats under the launchbox directory ?
the Portable file downloads as a 7z file, so there's nothing to extract?
can i launch the games with classic ps2 startup? (like duckstation with ps1 startup)
Is there a way to hide the pcsx2 window while the game boots up?
Is there something like this but i can add only emulators i want
As can be configured to start as a boot iso (full)?, With the configuration that shows on the video the games start as boot ISO (fast) and in some games it produces incomplete readings, It only happens in games with Multi Language
I already fixed it, I had to add the "--fullboot" command
This is so overwhelming. Retropie it is SO simple, whereas in launchbox i need to go through a ten minute video for one emulator?
psx2 doesn't have binary download anymore, just the application. Any advice?

@@UnbrokenSoftwareLLC thanks, can't find the link though?
What's the point in this launch box if u have to tinker in pcsx2 settings for each game anyway.
I use PCSX2 Configurator to handle that. Set your basic settings up that work for most games, then install Configurator and use it to save edited settings on specific games. forums.launchbox-app.com/files/file/1434-pcsx2-configurator-next/
The standalone installer actually asks if you want the installation to be portable, so dont worry about downloading the wrong one.

Can you play the games with keyboard and mouse?
How can you set BigBox to close with hitting two buttons at the same time? I can get it on launchbox but not bigbox.
Exactly what I was looking for. Liked and subscribed. You've done all the work for us, thank you.
Hey the 6GB 1060 is the card I want to get for my Bigbox PCSX2 HTPC
thanks ETA

Where i get bios files?
I want to build a PC for emulation and I want to know if you had any recommendations for GPU and CPU requirements to run pcsx2 smoothly
A good one. 😂
For some reason anything i try to import has weird file names, no game names. how do i fix this?
LaunchBox tries to deduce what the name of the game is based on the file name. Make sure that the files you are importing into LaunchBox begin with the name of the game.
I hope this helps with the PCSX2 speed.
what's better this or RetroArch?
Is there a way to save the settings for each individual game?
Hey, if you find an answer let me know please :)

a question..how can I run a game "completely" because the emulator always executes them "fast" in some games
What type of har drive are you using?
ETA Prime great video as always. I was wondering if you have a video like this for setting up ps2 on recalbox??
I have a "ghosting" problem on God of war 2. I ticked align sprites and am running 2x. Any advice
Thank you
Can you transfer save states and memory cards to the launch box binary if yiu already had pcsx2 standalone installed
wait you have two accounts under different
names using eta prime?
when i downloaded a game it said on the site it was iso but it dont work, help!
Did you extract the file using 7 zip or win rar?
