Hi! I got everything working with Mednafen running Sega Saturn bin/cue files. The issue I'm having is that I have no music. Whether the image was already in a bin/cue format or I converted it from another format, no music plays. Video and sound works flawlessly. Any idea how to fix this? Thanks for the video!
Dropping the cue file on the Emulator exe file doesn't work opening the game. It is either because I have a newer version of Mednafen than you or you got something else setup that you didn't show in video.
My cue and Bin Files are showing up under the application vlc will that make the games not work with mednafen? I had them working last month but now it just shows a black screen when I load the games up with the emulator? If I need to change the files from not showing vlc How would I do that?
@@garycormack well tbh I really can't remember I think uninstall and reinstall the program it couldn't of been nothing drastic cuz I still use it but I am trying out this new program Med GUI reborn
@@grumpipanda7476 thanks or the reply , I eventually got it working, but this emulator is a bit of a nightmare for compatibility, I have an entire Saturn set of games and only around half of them work on this. It absolutely has to be bin & cue files Think I’ll try something else
Medafen runs fine as drag and drop but if I try to run it from the exe i get a "no command line arguments specified" error. How can i fix this as i am sure it is stopping games running in launchbox. Are theer any command lines rthat need addng in the set up?
I have a rom (Shinning Force 3 English translated) that has 3 files. A cue, a bin and an iso. When i drag the cue to Mednafen's exe, i get an error. Does Mednafen support this rom format?
I've tried with the NiGHTS game... Using the cue file works with just Mednafen, but when I try to do it via Launchbox I click Play and then it shows the loading screen... But then I get a Mednafen error message saying "Unrecognized file format"... I think it might have to do with how there's like, 21 BIN files with it that say "track" and are numbered from 1 to 21... Would I need to remove 20 of the track BIN files maybe? I don't think that'd work... Wondering if someone has advice...
@@jamescox5638 I found the issue and fixed it, but then I later lost the data on an external hard drive that died on me. I'm trying to remember the solution, but I've been setting up so many platforms that I might be confused... I think you need to find some BIOS online and use that somehow? I know some systems are like that... Whatever I did though, I'm pretty sure I managed to find the files on the internet archive website if that helps. That and Vimm's Lair should be the two websites for whatever files you might need for it (VL has ROMs and Emulators, whereas if there's a BIOS you need then IA should have it (there's also ROMs and I think emulators there too)). You could also maybe try a different emulator or see if there's any other tutorials on Sega Saturn emulation and that could maybe help. I'm not too sure, but I did manage to figure it out and get NiGHTs running so if you work on it long enough you should be able to get Saturn working too. Good luck. Oh yeah! I just remembered! I think NKit ISO is actually another thing you might want to look into... I forget if it's useful for Sega Saturn, but I did find it useful for GameCube/Wii emulation... Might take some time figuring out how it works and I don't know if it'd be useful in this case, but it might be... You might need to convert all the files into an ISO, but I don't remember for sure... I'm not a tech expert and it was quite awhile ago...
@@RealmRabbit wwell, I found out why it wasnt working, it was cause launchbox/bigbox wwas trying to pull just the bin file and not the cue, I forced it to use the cue file and it works great ... kind of. see I have a weird setup where my games ( SNE, Sega, NES) games are ran through bigbox but i game stream through steam so I can access my games from anywhere. So I am on my NVIDIA shield and I launch Steam link up on the Remote computer, then in stewam i launch big box, and then I can launch any game like that but Sega Saturn Games. so I am betting its an issue with the Emulator and it just doesnt like that for some reason. I have one other game that does that and its the Castlevania 2 revamped. again just something about that setup it doesn't like. I do it this way so I dont have like 15 different play through going on at one time. I just have one system that has everything on it and I can remote play it from computers, phones, or my NVIDIA Shield . so ill need to try a different Emulator and see if I have better luck. Thanks for trying to help though
I'm having trouble mapping the controller with the gpd win 4. It only allows you to map in mouse mode with the joystick. no d pad on either setting. Do you have any idea how to fix this? Please let me know.
how do u fix the emulation if mednafen starts to lag? cause im using mednafen and it started to run but then i turned off my computer and turned my computer back on and ran mednafen but the emulation started to lag. how do i fix this?
Launchbox doesn't want to let me enter mednafin as an emulator. It keeps telling me "please add at least one applicable platform to grid" I don't know what it's asking for. I'm giving it the proper exe file.
i followed the step by step however, i can't play my saturn games via Launchbox.
They work perfectly when i drag onto the exe file though.
Thank you ETA, I'm installing this tonight :)
awesome TUT thanks dude, always the goto guy for all things emu

Thank you ETA :) I use both tbh, Retroarch and stand alones. More options the better :)
Does this emulator allow me to up the internal resolution?
when i go into full screen mode it sorta does it but it actually shrinks the game and i have black borders

see when I do it its saying that the file is to big.

I get no music ingame on Retroarch so I made the switch to standalone.

If you haven't already, the LaunchBox Community Forums is a good place to go for troubleshooting help: forums.launchbox-app.com/

Thanks. I do prefer the stand alone option.
what can I do if I re-map the buttons incorrectly? Is there a way to re-do this?
Thank you for this.
Is there a way to make the Select button on the gamepad exit the game and go back to Launchbox?

same
Why doesn't eta prime respond to these ?
When I try to boot up s game, it loads the music menu instead
You need to better roms. It shows the games you have are either poorly ripped or corrupted.
oof, that launchbox theme looking cool
Excelente!
How come full screen is't real full screen.
Why do you prefer stand alone emulators?
Works better
como se usa cheat no emulador

The Java update is screaming at me.
The way you say Med-Naffin triggers me, FITE ME IRL!!!! :P
MED NA FINNNNNN
Still sucks as much as the retroarch core with slow frame rates and irritating, choppy sound. The new Kronos core however, seems to run very well.
Oh boy it's so hard to hear mednAHHfen. I wonder if anyone else has pronounced it that way.
I do
fuck frontends or launchers or similar shit....i only use emulators and bat files to directly run games if able
