Thanks for great series of videos. I have an I7 CPU and 1660ti graphics card and I get better ePSXe results on the raspberry pi ! I can't even run a bios on epsxe 2.0.5, the intro sound stutters and loops and is painful to listen to. I have all the settings you and others recommend. There seems to be quite a few posts from people with stutter problems but no solutions. If you ever set up a different PS1 emulator in Launchbox a tutorial would be great!
Cool tuto, I always rather go with Mednafen PSX Libretro, it looks better to me, and I have no problem runing my own dumps with it. Shaders on Retroarch are the best too.
Hi every time I try to play Playstation games on launchbox, it freezes right after the sony logo. I am not sure how to fix this. Ps2 games work fine. Do you know any way to fix this?

Files for Roma are bin files and when I select a game from the launch box screen it just says that they are not. Exe files. Have you had this issue? And when I select to load iso from pcsxe they load just fine.
When I press escape when psx running my Windows resolution is set to whatever ePSXe was set at so have to go to Nvidia and reset it every time! Any ideas?
My psx game collection is compressed format .bz I use plugin cdrmoby2 to play without problems on epsxe, but unfortunately I can not start same iso with launchbox you have a solution? I do not want to unzip the ISO and take up much more disk space, thank you!
getting ps1 games on retropie is a real pain in the fucking ass. Im dying to put silent hill, metal gear solid, and symphony of the night on my console but it only takes iso files. Most annoying thing on retropie cause any ps1 rom i download doesnt come in iso format. Pls help me
ETA PRIME im gonna try to find one tonight and test it tomorrow, video would help alot because i used to get ps1 roms working in 2 seconds on retropie, guess it has to do with the changes in the current version
@@shaq1406 select all the .cue files with ctrl+A for that particular rom and drag them onto the launchbox open window. I THINK that’s how I did it. Basically you want it to read the .cue files first. Also there’s a program you can use to consolidate the .cue and .bin files into 1 file. Also can use it to make multi disk games into one file. It’s a psp type program maybe called psp boot? Something like that. Sorry for the vague info, it’s been a long time since I messed with any of this.
lol have you tried retroarch mednafen psx core ? I did try it on a quad core computer and it wasn't enough to run it full screen! Thanks for your video I'll try epsx tomorrow :D
ePSXe is a great emulator for PS1 (my favorite to be honest) make sure to turn on sub pixel precision for a treat :) It helps with those weird wavy polygons the PS1 had back in the day... Sort of an aftermarket fix. It's even great on Android, runs on almost anything.
Mednafen only needs a 2Ghz Dual Core for full speed. There may have been something off with how it was setup on your system if you couldn't get full speed.
I'm using Retroarch w/mednafen core for my PS1 games in LaunchBox. I've got a decent rig and it runs great. I prefer it over ePSXe simply because it's one less emulator to manage in LB.
patham57 I just tried beetle HW on retroarch today but it ran like crap on my 4670k @4Gh +1070gtx none of my cores go over 55% either. Tried Vulkan and opgl. No idea what's wrong.

Plus this way people won't be searching all day for the correct bios you need for Mednafen.

Why you using 360 controllers? That is like me using Dual Shocks for Xbox games. Cheap PS1/PS2 gamepads are available from Logitech and others.
