    Thanks for sharing!
    The performance penalty of the a/c was severe enough; it never carried canons AND bombs. In fact bomb racks were removed, as well as in-wing armament.
    However, it still needed, and used a pitot tube.
    Besides screwing up the 37mm canons, Trumpeter screwed up the canopy framing of EVERY one of its Ju-87 kits. Many of the Ju-87's canopy frames were on the INSIDE surface of the plexiglass. Also, Trumpeter got the rivets wrong; a big portion on the Ju-87 were of the raised variety. Ironically, Airfix, 50 years ago, got the rivetting & the canopy framing correct on their 1/24 Ju-87B, released in 1975; it's still by far the best Ju-87B model on the market.
    Although the Ju-87 pilot had both lap & shoulder harness, the gunner only had a lapbelt, and his parachute was the gunner's seat cushion.

    Like others that commented here, I think you did an excellent job for an OOB Stuka and the weathering is just right, so many of us take weathering too far and learn our lessons along the way. You have some great skills young man, thanks for the great video.

    Fantastic build. I’m building the same kit, I have got both versions in 1/24 the G2 and D5 both kits have the 37mm gun set in them. So I have corrected the G2 kit to the correct gun layout. You were right’ no bombs could be carried because of the weight of the guns.. But it does look good with them bomb in place. keep safe

    That is one of the kits I want to get to go with my airfix stuka there B you did a really great job on this you could enter it at the IMPS nationals and win a gold in the box stock category the thing I like about these larger scale kits you can add a lot of extra detail especially around the engine beautiful great job

    3:25 This circular thingy is the German equivalent of the so called flux valve. It gives signals to the radio compass for heading reference. It’s not range finding, it’s rather finding headings.
    If I recall correctly, in German it’s called „Kompasstochter“ which literally translates to „compass daughter“, meaning slave compass.
    The workmanship is very nice.
    Since each of the 37mm guns with attachments, ammo and pods weighed in at around 600-700 kg, I think the G version didn’t have any option to carry any additional bomb load together with those guns. The G was basically a D, but they increased the wingspan by about a meter to give the wing more lift to carry the gunnery.
    It probably could carry the bombs (the attachment points to mount the ETC 50 carriers were in the wing anyway), but not with the guns simultaneously.

    • @mrzzgo0ro0na
      @mrzzgo0ro0na  3 роки тому

      Thanks for the info! Much appreciated....I did know about no payload with those guns but I had already painted the wings and had forgotten to fill the holes...that’s why I put the smallest ones I had in there lol

    • @MothaLuva
      @MothaLuva 3 роки тому

      @@mrzzgo0ro0na I see...well, I guess the racks alone would have been sufficient to cover the holes...but, it’s your model and you can do as you are pleased.
      Sometimes I deliberately make such „mistakes“ on my models just for the fun of it. The sole reason being „because I can“...😊

    • @MothaLuva
      @MothaLuva 3 роки тому

      @@mrzzgo0ro0na If it happens to you again to forget to fill some holes, this can be rectified too after painting. Take some plastic rod and shape it a bit comically to fit into the hole. Glue it in carefully, cut away the major portion, then scalpel away the remainder until satisfied. Finally, paint the plugs with a small brush.

    I think it’s a great kit - if you were an unarmed bandit you could use a pen torch for the cockpit. Very tempting to leave that engine open but I think the kit would look better with it covered up - the ‘lines’ of the bird are broken up by that engine. Or else the engine looks too bland.
    I really like the paint job and that weathering on the pilots seat is awesome! - it really is a salient part of the cockpit and catches the eyes but what about the harness straps? At that scale…
    What references did you use?
