Thank you for the video currently having GFCI problems unfortunately I will have to write a book about this, so what is going on in my situation is my GFCI outlet next to my propane stove stopped working it has no reset button but it does have a GFCI sticker if we plugged into many devices, it would overload and tripped the breaker. We also have a GFCI plug by the upstairs sink. It worked for a little while, but then it stopped working as well. Upon further inspection of the one upstairs by the sink it was actually melted, and in bad condition after it stopped working so I took it out, secure the wires and put tape over the whole track down the other GFCI outlets in the RV. I realized that my thermostat inside of my hot water heater is running off of the same wiring. Needless to say my thermostat was working last year, it is not working this year. The only thing that has changed is my problems with the GFCI plugs. I’m tempted to change the one in the kitchen first to see if that fixes the problem. Have you had a situation like this where the thermostat stopped working due to the GFCI plugs going out, taking it to a dealership is not an option due to not being able to pay the fees that will undoubtably be hundreds if not thousands of dollars waiting on your response thank you kindly

      Hi There!
Our apologies for the delayed reply. I wanted to reach out to our technical service team to get their expertise. Here's their reply:
"The one by the bathroom sink is the first one in the string of outlets and protects them all. None will work until it is replaced. GFCI outlets must be properly installed and come with great instructions. Be sure to follow the instructions to the letter.
If you have tripped that breaker several times, it is worn out and should be replaced with an identical new one.
If the water heater is actually on the GFCI circuit, this is a problem. The GFCI circuit is rated at 15 amps total, and the water heater will pull almost 12 by itself. Water heaters should be on their own breaker, so verify this point and correct if necessary.
As a caution, 120-volt AC can be highly dangerous and these repairs must be done to 100% accuracy, and this issue will require a great deal of skill to diagnose and repair properly."
I certainly understand the hesitancy to schedule a service appointment. But, in this case, I highly recommend entrusting the diagnostics and repairs to a licensed RV technician.

I've got the exact opposite problem, only gfci works. Checked the outlets and they all look good but they show 1.4 AC volts. There's continuity to the breaker box still too.

      Hi Carter!
I passed your question along to a couple of my technical institute instructors. They initially had a couple of follow-up questions for you:
      - Is your RV 30 or 50 amp?
      - Have you already reset any of the breakers?
On a 30-amp RV, you will typically have one breaker for the GFCI circuit, and one marked general purpose. Verifying the voltage from the general-purpose breaker would be a useful test.
There are literally hundreds of possible tests and questions regarding such an electrical issue. If you’re unfamiliar with RV electrical systems, caution should be exercised.
We can suggest flipping all breakers off and back on, including the ones on the power pedestal. Inspect the shore cord at both ends and the outlet on the pedestal for damage.
The GFCI will not reset if there is no power to it. If these tests do not resolve the issue, it must be taken to the nearest Camping World for a diagnosis ASAP. There is something very wrong with the AC system, which could cause the metal surfaces to become energized (hot skin), or a potential fire hazard may exist.
Here’s where you can find contact info for your nearest Camping World Service Center: rv.campingworld.com/rv-service-maintenance
Hope that helps, and I’ll be sure to pass along any response for further clarification!

Hi Alfonso! Can you clarify what you mean by outside power? Do you have a mini fridge in an outdoor kitchen? Can you tell us the make/model of your RV and we can try to get you some ideas for other checks you can perform?
      Thanks!
