- Do you know where the important fuses are in your RV ?
Do you have any spare fuses on hand ?
I think it is important to know where a few important or key fuses are located in your RV
and having spares is a good plan.
I hope showing you where a few of my fuses are, inspires you get at some fuses to your RV go bag.
Make a list of the fuse types you need and the amp rating of each.
Having 5 fuses is not overkill to have on hand, you might be the one that can help someone at camp.

Glad it was helpful!
Ok, one more thing on my to do list.... Thanks for the heads up.
It is easy and great to be prepared.
Thanks for watching.
Great content. I will definitely be looking for a hidden panel for the slide out fuses. Right now I only know where the main fuse panel is.
Great video. Thank you!
You are welcome!
Thank you, I learn something. 👍🏻🇺🇸
You are welcome
Man you the best you just saved me at the right time and all your advice was a blessing thank you and lord bless you and yr love once 🔂
I am glad this was helpful
Thank you. Very helpful
You're welcome!
tip: buy the assortment fuse package that provides a fuse puller. best to not use a metal object/pliers on a fuse panel/bus. I think plastic fuse pullers are sold separately as well. Also, there are several sizes of blade fuses, such as micro, mini and standard, if you are buying spares keep this in mind.
Thanks a Bunch
Great info
Good job
Thank you Eric 👋
Just came across this video. A Lippert Fuse panel - wow! Now I'm on a search.
I hope you find it 👍
Thank you !!!
You're welcome!
Thank You so much, I had a few friends try to figure it out and they had nothing, I'm a female and try to do things myself, on my way to get some fuses for My water pump My fridge and the one next to My battery,, My grandsons call me a (Bad Mama Jama) can't wait till I do this,, thank You once again you are My hero 🌹🙏 God Bless you and your family ❤️
You are so welcome. I'm happy to help. God bless you and your family as well.
Thanks!
It means alot, thank you
I believe that 3 amp glass fuse needs to be a resistor not just a standard 3 amp fuse
thank you
You're welcome
I have a junction box on the inside of the frame rail where the wires come through the A frame. I've blown that fuse a few times. 30 amp I believe it is. Lost power and it was a search for it because I didn't have any 12 volt.
Yes John, you know the search program. A Blown fuse never happens when it is convenient. Thanks for sharing
Great video. I agree the a----les who build these things put stuff in the worst places and even the manuals don't tell you where they are.
Thank you for info 👍
Any time!
Keystone cameo awning light 3 amp fuse
The most common blown fuse the is the 40 amp reverse wiring fuse. Blows when the user puts the battery back in and reverses hot and neutral. Protect the not only the battery but the distribution control board in the converter. 🍸🍸
I would that is like keeping the windows user from being "administrator". Protection is a good thing. Thanks for sharing Phil.
Where would I find this specific fuse?
@@chadallen65 it is in the converter panel. It will be marked 40 amp
I have searched for a couple of hours now, in every compartment, every panel, underneath, inside and out and cannot find the converter. I have a 2010 Fleetwood Bounder. I have found multiple fuse panels, the inverter, control center, hidden compartments that I didn't know existed. But damn, I cannot find the converter, and hence the reverse polarity fuses, which I believe I tripped when I hooked up the batteries recently.
@@chadallen65I've heard they are in the storage compartment under the bed
Nice info. For the life of me I cannot find my awning fuse is for 2608BS 2021 Rockwood.
It can be like the hunt for Red October
Wish you would have said something about the converter
Yes, check everywhere
I'm trying to find the fuse for my awning. Geopro Riverwood 2021
Don't give up looking
What about furnace
Do you know where can I find the hazard lights fuses for 2003 fleet wood Terra RV?
I do not.
I have a question I have a rv thats 30 amps and I'm just going to have it parked as a spare room for a family, anywho I know I have to get the 15 amp adapter can let us use 3 tvs and 2 Playstation 4 be used all at ones? We know nothing about electricians and its our 1st time using a rv also they won't be using the refrigerator or stove. Maybe the heater but only at night.
great questions, plug your power cord into the outlet with your adapter plug and the main gear you described should work fine. The problem you will have is the heater. Heaters draw an enormous amount of energy and will likely trip your breaker at your house. if you use the RV heater, it uses Propane.
Thank you good info
I have a 2016 EVO 2360 model. My lippert power stabiilzer jacks have no power. The awning and slide still work. I looked underneath and can see the 6 amp auto break but no other breakers. Would the fuse for the stabilizers be located inside the LIppert control system?
That is a really good possibility, if you have located the lippert controller , which can be buried behind a wall. That will be many fuses to check. Doible check your WFCO power center for any red leds. These would indicate a blown fuse as well.
Any insight to a regular size blade fuse (15 amp) that is "special" (btw its black). I have a 2022 Thor class-a and it has a 15 amp fuse for the radio that doesn't look like a typical regular size blade fuse like the others in the panel under the bed. This "special" black fuse has a tiny resistor inside but it fits like the regular size blade fuses. When I replace this special fuse with a regular size 15 amp blade fuse, it always blows, so I have to put back in the special fuse then its fine. I cant find this type of fuse anywhere online. I have since reached out to Thor thru their owners portal, but no response yet. any help would be greatly appreciated!
I know the one you are describing , like you I don't know where to get them. Good luck on the search.
I only have propane heat in the bed room (hot) at the entry door and hall it blows cold ??
Strange, it sounds like the pipe connecting the rest of your rooms might be blocked or broken. Definitely a reason to have it in the shop before winter.
The automatic reset breakers are good to have spares of too especially if you boondock. I had one right at my battery go bad on us and drove me nuts trying to figure out was it was until someone said to look for that.
Amen
I put new fuse in red light still on, the new fuse is different shape in center wire but both 15 amp.
Do you have a volt meter? Do you know how to check if a fuse is good? You might have a wire shorting out that is blowing even a brand new fuse.
If it were me,I would start checking the wires with a meter to find the fault. If working with electricity is something you're not familiar with or comfortable with, you might want to search on Google maps for a mobile RV repair tech to help fix it.
@RV Addict no I don't have a volt meter, but will get one, I have watched on how to use one on UA-cam, the cooler is working now red light is still on a little nerves something might burn diffently will get help on wiring if need be.
You are on the right track. The more you experience these little things it will start to make more sense on how to troubleshoot. Take your time, and always ask for help from others that know. Before long, you will be really good at fixing those things.
How do you know when or if it’s the fuse? And where do you get replacements?
It really depends on the problem you are having. You will know it is the fuse when there is no connection from side to side. IF you do not have a cheap multi meter, that is your first order of business. after that it is only a matter of simply testing each fuse.
to make it easier, often times, a light will come on at your power center, indicating a blown fuse. finding fuses you can go to almost any automotive store and even an Ace Hardware. This should get you started 😎
I'm trying to replace the blade fuses. And I found fuses at the auto supply store and the hardware store that look exactly like those blade fuses but say 32 volt instead of 12 volt, is there really any difference?
32 volt sound a little strange. Double check with the auto parts store to make sure.
Can't find my keystone springfield furnace fuse Can anyone help?
Wish I could help
I now have a 15 amp fuse that blew and blew again for the front end of the camper cealing lights. How can I solve this?
You will likely have a short somewhere between the light and your fuse. Look for animals chewing wires, wires rubbing on metal.
If it is not visually obvious where the problem is, you will end up taking your rig to a shop where someone will dig into it further. Good luck
I am having trouble with my slide and maybe it's a fuse? Will an electrician be the best person to contact? I have already replaced the battery and still no power.
Hi Linda, You could have a more than one thing happening. There are fuses, Motors, switches and such.
An RV electrician would be a good place to start. As you may already know, RV's can be complicated and someone who works on them
should be able to find the culprit much faster. If you are on the road, search for "mobile RV repair" technicians.
Hope that helps. Kevin
I found all my fuses but none of them say refrigerator is there something else it could be called?
Look at the refrigerator from the outside as well, there are a few fuses for the fridge. I hope you find it.
I had an electrician install a 30 amp outlet for my travel trailer prior to my arrival out of state. Once I arrived and plugged in my trailer a white cloud came from my hot water heater as well as a spark for my converter box, and as you can imagine I no longer have any power, also my GFCI will not reset. So far I have replaced the GFCI outlet as well as 2 40amp fuses and purchase two relay switches. Is there anything else that I need to check that will cause me to lose total power? I don't know if my appliances no longer work since I don't have power yet. It's a 2020 KZ sportsman Le and I hate to get rid of it, but if all the electrical and appliances are fried I probably won't have any other choice. Any advice would be extremely helpful. Thank you.
Ron, that is very unfortunate. Because you had such a catastrophic electrical problem. I would suggest to have an "RV" electrician take a look. RV wiring while it should abide by code, can often take wrong turns. An experienced RV electrician will now how and what to test for. Hopefully you had some circuit protection to prevent major losses in your rig. I would start there for sure.
@@RVKevin Thank you for responding.
My husband was volunteering and a church asked him what he needed. He told them 30 amp and sent picture of box. Someone hooked it up 240 instead of 120. Burned up tv, vcr-dvd combo, microwave. Blessed it didn’t get refrigerator and ac. Thought they were helping.
We recently found out (the hard way) our fuse for the LED porch strip light is behind the on/off switch plate.
The way RV's are built, you are lucky to have found it. make to sure to add that to a notes sheet somewhere
@@RVKevin
Thank you!
It was a last attempt to find out what the issue was. Hubby pulled the plate off to test power to the electric wire within the switch. Oh look, here’s a fuse. Lol. Pure luck indeed.
@@daisygirl5368 Fantastic news !
i have a 1999 ford F53 coachman motorhome where generator works everything just fine but shore power does not, transfer switch and all fuses have been checked! 110 volts comes to the panel circuit breakers but no AC outlets work or AC units etc. reset and tested all GFI;s i'm dumbfounded
That's a tough one. I don't know that rig you have, I would figure out a way to get your shore power plugged into the generator side. To verify that your transfer switch is in fact transferring. What you described makes me think the transfer switch would be an area to look at. Hope that helps in some way.
@@RVKevin definitely the transfer switch is working because there’s power coming inside at the 110 panel and breakers when plugged into shore power
I have leak under my sewer tank, Makin it really smelly, any suggestions
Dumping your tanks would be the first step
Hi sir.. does it matter if you flip those blue fuses upside down because they do still fit that way?
You can flip the fuses and use them either way. I hope that helps you. All the best.
@@RVKevin thanks.. I guess my power inverter is truly fried then .
Should the camper be unplugged before taking a fuse out?
If you don't feel comfortable writing around electricity, it is a good thing hire someone or ask a friend to help.
Generally speaking, you can pull a fuse without unplugging.
Thank you
Had a question, I have a 2018 220rbi, I have a 3000watt inverter & charge controller. Can I put the shore power plug to the ac in and the ac out to the fuse box
You have to use the RV power cord. For the AC input.
Thanks for the fast reply brotha, that is what I was going to do, just so we are clear, ac power cord wires to ac input of the Growwatt, and then the growatt ac out to the ac input side of the trailer. That way I can just use the same plugs and fuses. Is a growwatt 3000watt inverter charge controller.
@@policialgamer8762 I am not entirely sure what you are describing. I am not familiar with the product you are mentioning so I could only refer you to the manual you are working with. I hope that helps.
@@RVKevin no problem. Basically I want to take the 3 wires coming off of my shore power cord and put them to the ac in of my inverter/charge controller & then the ac out of the inverter to the ac in (where the shore power cord was wired) of the original fuse box.
@@policialgamer8762 I understand now. You need a transfer switch. Automatic or manual. That is what I installed and it has been perfect.
is the a relay switch that needs to be reset i have a few things out , lights no power ?
The one relay is auto resetting.
I would definitely look for a blown or poped fuse
Our level. Panel not lighting up
Look for a main breaker, switch and loose connecting
We’re are you? You ok? Not on UA-cam anymore 😢
Working on making more videos soon. Thanks for asking and subscribing 👍
Control Center?, Converter Panel?, don't you folks have generic terms for an electrical supply distribution board, I don't care what you may call it, just make it obviously identifiable. Thank you.
