I am a female that just plugged something in and if a fuse went screamed fix it. Spoiled most of my life and remained ignorant on how electrical power works. I am now 56 years old and homeless living in a travel trailer in Canada. I like how you teach I can understand and follow along. Thank you for your time and knowledge and your willingness to share.

I just started working around RVs. When customers ask about the different plugs, I tell them I don't know and I ask the manager. After watching your video, I now know the manager doesn't know either. Now I can give the customer the right information in an intelligent way. Thank you so much for breaking this down, I will watch this a couple of times but now I'm not in the dark. lol pardon the pun
    Please...MORE. You are great!

Can this guy do every instructional video on youtube please.
I'm just now seeing this 4 years later.
Why is this guy not in every commercial representing every major company.
He's like the Sam Elliot of tutorial, diy and walkthrough videos.
Why are we not paying this man for simply being alive.
My god some tutorials that are so long or blisteringly pointless that lead to dead ends or learning absolutely.
This guy is gold. He's everybodys favorite mentor
Somebody please make a movie about this guy.
Or clone him for christs sake.
Amazing video I'm an expert now seriously.
He makes it so simple and easy.
    Thank you so much.

I have a friend who almost lost his life because he knew automotive power well and thought it would be the same with 220vAC, you can imagine what happened. Thanks for this, I'll be sharing as I hope others do as well. Regards...!

What an excellent tutorial on RV power systems. Clear, concise, humorous, with diagrams. Made it so clear.

What a great summary!! Although familiar with both AC and DC power (conceptually) I did quite a bit of research when buying my travel trailer to better understand the electrical system. I wish I had found this first!! This summary covers most of the basics and could have kept me from having to watch multiple videos and reading multiple articles. They were still very helpful but this summary covers most of the basics all in one view. Well done!!

Wow. As a newcomer to electrical engineering and circuitry, this explanation was extremely valuable! I bought a 2001 winnebago 31ft and I have trying to figure out why my generator wasn't working. Without being too invasive, I wanted to put my electromagnetic knowledge to the test but without any prior hands on experience, I was as useless as someone without any knowledge of electricity. You really helped me see and see the relevance of my studies in a real world situation and also help me further my non-invasive investigation of the generator so thank you two times!

Excellent information. I am planning on moving into a trailer to be closer to job opportunities. The trailer I'm moving into has two 24V battery, being told that the system is only 12V. I was puzzled and a bit concerned so looking up electrical systems about trailers/rvs to be more informed. I've had some experience with electricity working on houses on and off throughout the years but when it came to the trailer, I felt like I couldn't really apply all of my previous knowledge to figure it out. The other part is that I didn't know about the power cord adapters going down in amps, that was super important. I'm going to be careful not to overload the system with too many things running. Thanks :)
P.S. no worries on being long winded, its good to refresh and learn something new, still enjoyed and listened every second of it. That story of the neighbor hooking up that woman's trailer with 220v plug was a shock to hear but good to know.
P.S.S. Never know if one day we might be able to see something to maybe help someone and save lives with this kind of information. This kind of information and knowledge awareness could potentially have one person save an entire family living in rv/trailer. Amazing

I found this very helpful and will watching again I am sure. While I don't plan to work on the electrical I do want a good understanding of the principles so I can't be taken advantage of by unethical people. I think most people are basically honest but sometimes people have set notions and want to convince you to do something that is not necessary. I want to know enough to know what I need and what I don't. This video will help me in that area.

This is such an interesting and informative video! I learned a lot, even though a complete novice with electricity. I never could understand amps till you said it was like speed. Wow! Instantly got it! So grateful. I also thought I could run AC or fan system plugged into my house power. Was I wrong. I wish you would make another video explaining more. I need to do my own DIY Van build and would like to know how to lay down the electrical system. You are an excellent teacher and have a voice you can listen to for a long time. Also thanks for no background music.
I have a 1997 Class C Tioga Montara that came with factory systems. There is a fuse box under hood for engine stuff. There is a fuse box under oven next to the converter. And there is a fuse box crammed into a TINY space next to two house batteries in a drop down box under the door entry way step. This is SO HARD to access it is ridiculous. I had to remove it once and redo whole thing due to a long story about buying wrong batteries, re-welding battery box to enlarge it, etc! Anyway, this fuse box needs to be relocated to a larger more accessible area close by. How to do it? No RV place seems to know or care. I need to modernize this whole area of fuses, and install a battery disconnect switch. Would love some guidance on who does this kind of work? I'm in California.

This was a very well-done video. You're very good at simplifying things. If you were anyone happens to catch this message soon, I could really use some help. I have an elderly lady who lives in a trailer park. She lives in a small camper unit. She recently had her AC, refrigerator, and all lighting go out. Her receptacles still work and her microwave works. I had a guy tell me that if the microwave is still working, The converter is not bad, but I wasn't registering anything where the converter ties in to the fuse panel. I'm speculating that I may have just been told wrong and that the microwave is just on a basic plug circuit. All the breakers are on and functioning and the receptacle that the refrigerator is plugged into is working, but at the refrigerators converter, I read no voltage at the 12 V terminal, so something had to fry it...
