Possible, but usually spirits are tied to places or objects, so maybe when he moved, he brought the spirit/demon or whatever the frig with him to the duplex. That is just MY theory

I have one of those and sometimes it does the same thing when someone turns the lights of something else on or off in the house. This is most likely because it uses a change in voltage to determine when you touch it, so when someone turns something on there is a slight change in the power grid's voltage so the lamp thinks that you touched it.

I had a similar problem. The small fan in my blender had this unholy ability to chop food really fast. So one day I put a metal cross in the thing any guess what, the whole thing blew up. Undeniable proof it was haunted.

You saying that reminds me of this incident a couple of years ago. I had just moved into my new house and it was nice and large and bare like new houses are. However, for the first few months that I was in my house, the door to my room would slam shut at the slightest draft of wind. It always scared the shit out of me because it was sporadic and loud. It also never closed because the door is old and has one of those issues where you have to physically turn the knob and push/ pull it to open or shut it. One day, I decide to be smart and close my windows during the storm. Low and behold, it still slams. There are no other windows that could directly blow on it so this freaks me the hell out. Eventually, I get used to it and start cursing my door out whenever this happens. It has stopped at this point but it was still a very strange experience.
