0:43 in some ways sounds like a precursor to some Mario galaxy music, how it swells up into a grand release like that really reminds me of a lot of galaxy music, neat really
i get where you’re coming from, though it is typically seen in orchestral pieces, which is no doubt what the piece was trying to replicate.
it kind of sounds like a certain song from rhythm heaven.
It reminds me more of some Ocarina of Time music

Adding everything back at 3:09, at the end of a loop rather then the start of the next, was great. A powerful "Holy s**t, here we go!" moment.
Starting from 1:18 and going up to 1:43 is like a nice build up.

I think that no other rainbow road song has achieved this feeling, snes rainbow road is the purest form of this theme
The channeles 3 and 7 at 0:55 adds a lot to the atmosphere of this song like watching the stars from far away while you are racing
1:18 feels like race fanfares but so elevated by the resonance of the instruments

Super Mario Kart's music honestly wasn't my favorite out of all the OSTs that the SNES had to offer with its many other games, but one of my favorite chracteristics of SNES music is still thankfully present and accounted for in Super Mario Kart: the multi-channel echo of many sounds. I love when SNES music has this echoing effect and its such an unmistakable signature of OSTs for many SNES games both 1st party and 3rd party alike.

I am not even lying to anybody right now, but I felt the worst chest pain in my entire life the first 20 seconds of this video. I think I experienced a heart attack but I wasn’t having trouble breathing or moving, and my heart only felt like it had really strange palpitations. Maybe rainbow road is so good it caused it lol.
