We just downsized homes 3 years ago to a brand new 3 bedroom and I have no room for hobbies and sewing anymore so I have turned the lounge into a creative space for me and Im waiting for my son to visit and help move the chase upstairs so I have more room and I can set up my sewing machine. I think what is underestimated is your glorious colour matching and seamless coordinating. That’s what I admire. You pull together things which initially look as if they should not go together… but in your hands, they do. You have an innate colour sense which is a joy. 🤩

So happy I came across this vid. I'm currently upcycling a jean jacket and will make it into a vest similar to yours. It's too small for me so I sliced a tri-angle out of the back and will put in a floral swingy material from a groovy dress I picked up from the bins. This craft is so much fun. I sew on a Janome I picked up at a garage sale for 15 bucks. I gave it a little tweak and it runs just fine.

I “make” vests out of scarves, with some beautiful wood-encased magnet closures that my German cabinetmaker friend custom made for me. Seeing projects like yours here really inspires me to learn to sew on a machine, at age fifty-plus. This is *so* creatively encouraging. Thank you!
