Have not been to one for a few years now. Lucky ive got 4 independent record shops in a 10 mile radius which i use. Knowledgeable and real music lovers.
I don't think you are missing much and I am pleased you have some good local shops within a reasonable distance. Thanks for your comments and good hunting.
Well spotted, I did pass it by and could not even work out what it said. Glad it was a reissue as I would have been sad if I missed an OG. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Good hunting.
The dealer is being a bit optimistic with those prices. I'd pay half of what the asking price is on a few I saw that caught my eye. Time to bargain 😎 !
Thanks for your comment. Its seems a few people agree with you and have left similar comments regarding not bothering with record fairs. I guess the good old days are gone.
First time visiting your channel, and you had me giggling at your comments as you walked around....nice shoes on that guy... all the jeans....nice purple bag!!! I don't understand all the negative comments from other people here about the prices and the state of the records. It's a record fair, for goodness sake, not Marks & Spencer! I've only just started going to record fairs here in Melbourne Australia, and I love them! Sure, sometimes the records are expensive, but so are new ones in the retail shops! I was shocked to find new LPs in a shop for nearly $100. Mind you, it's been 40 years since I bought records...
You have to feel you're getting a little bit of a bargain at a record fair. Otherwise why go? You only end out with buyer's remorse. I don't mind the vendor getting the money I would spend on postage if I ordered online, and it's great to see the condition of of the discs, but if you buy off reliable sellers online you get to really shop around for the pressing of your choice too. People know vendors need to make a living but why would anyone pay 30% more than it costs to get a NM copy to your door? There's a vendor at a fair I frequent. Always has a great selection, because he never sells. The prices are crazy. Doesn’t make sense ... the only ones buying those types of records know better. There are also some great vendors. They're always busy. They get a fair cut and you go home happy you've found some gems at a reasonable price.
I could not have put this better. Your comments cover all the angles and make complete sense. Records fairs have changed so much and in my opinion they are not as good as they used to be. Thank you for taking the time to put your points across. Good hunting.
They key to going to record shows is to look at the pricing. If its overpriced move to the next table. There's so many dealers at most shows, plenty of deals to be had
It's can vary. As you can imagine its hit and miss but to be honest I have been very lucky and found so many mint records are the boot sales its hard to believe. Its like anything you just need to keep looking and eventually it pays off. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment.
for some reason people like to overprice things on record fairs. But everyone nowadays looks it up so who are they trying to fool? Well it's always nice to see some records in the hope i see something i don't know and like.. Nice vid!
More blue jeans than a Status Quo gig. Where was this? Very average stock and overpriced. Some fairs are better depends on the sellers. I do about 4 or 5 a year that does me. Thry are like record shops. A for Abba, B for Beatles C for Carpenters. Same old same old. Unimaginative. I leave it at that before I go into one 😅😅
I would keep to the boot fairs if i was you.I don,t go to Record fairs like you are seeing well over priced for bog standard LP.s.Good reason for me not going to one.
That dealer ought to know better...BS&T along with Chicago and Chase and a few others were in the Jazz/Rock category when they arrived ont he scene in the late sixties.BS&T II is a great, great album incidentally.
whats a hip hop record doing in there , get out . hilarious . you should have bought all those records at car boots and sell em at the record fair for a fiver . record fairs are great , just buy what you like at decent prices
OMG is this what record fairs have turned into? Sellers at record fairs used to be fellow music fans and collectors..these people seem to be only interested in money, what a piss take

No wonder i'm a CD lover as record prices are ridiculous for one album 🙄🤷♂️
I totally understand.
Excellent commentary ! My thoughts at most record fairs 😂
Thank you. I am glad you enjoyed it. Good hunting.
You breezed past ‘Odessey & Oracle’ by the Zombies . A absolute stand out psych album from 1968 😩 £50 for Deep Purple ‘ Fireball ‘ Wow
Well spotted, I did pass it by and could not even work out what it said. Glad it was a reissue as I would have been sad if I missed an OG. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Good hunting.
You didn't recognize one of the best albums of the 60s at 2:38 (Zombies - Odessey & Oracle)
You got me. I am up to speed now!
Billy Connolly was in The Humblebums.
Thank you, I am learning every day!
...so was Gerry Rafferty.
The facts keep coming. Thank you.

I think you are right and it would definitely be worth negotiating on the prices.
@@thevinylvault Hey brother. Love you videos and am always in the market for Beatles, Zep, Stones, Who. If you're selling please hit me up.
On the face of it, this sums up why I don't bother with record fairs. Full of (mainly) overpriced crap.
Thanks for your comment. Its seems a few people agree with you and have left similar comments regarding not bothering with record fairs. I guess the good old days are gone.
He’s charging more for the crisp clean outer sleeves. There’s a sucker born every minute.😂
It's all a little sad.

Glad you found it amusing. It's good to laugh a little.
Not been to a record fair in years & won't be going anytime soon judging by these insane prices.
Thank you so much for your comment. You are not the only one. maybe mail order wins this time around.

Good sound advice. Thank you.
Same LPs you'd find in charity shops in America
Just as I thought. Thanks for watching.
Are the records you find at car boot sales an yard sales in excellent or close to mint condition 😮

Agreed, everyone was checking prices on their phones and yes its always nice to see the records in the flesh.
@@thevinylvault ah, i wonder how much he/she sold :')
I can only imagine very little but we may be shocked if we knew the truth.
'£30 something there' was Led Zeppelin
haha nice video funny comments, those 3 quid boxes, 1 pound a pop all day long
Glad you enjoyed the humour.
Get your blue jeans on, purple boxes, Deep Purple for 30 nicker, George Ezra the slag.
Have it.
Bosh! have it.
Record Fair Prices!
Thanks for your comment. Does anyone actually pay these prices?
@@thevinylvault I am afraid, that yes. Otherwise those would be cheaper.
Sad for those buyers.
Any swinging blue jeans there 😅
Great comment. They had some big hits but I did not see any in the boxes.
Tom Pretee?

Yes, I cant afford record fair prices.
And the guy who, s doing the video is proving the point. With all that run of the mill stuff like he says that at most they should be £2.
Blood, Sweat and Tears aren't Prog.
You tell 'em!

It was a bit random. I think I need to become a record dealer and set up a stall. I am sure I would make loads of money.

I must agree things have changed. I miss the old days when knowledge was king and you could pick up some real gems. now anyone can be a record dealer.
@@thevinylvault these people ain't even record dealers,Records are just the latest in thing they've latched onto to try and make money, wrong uns mate
I cant really disagree.
