Raining Records !!! An Unexpected Haul

This was an awesome and surprising record haul for me! I think the guy selling was frustrated with trying to get rid of them. He had been trying for days to sell them all. Plus, he was probably tired of putting up with the musty smell in his SUV. Fortunately, only the records in the cardboard boxes were the smelly ones. Unfortunately, most of the records in the cardboard boxes are way too damaged from poor care and mold to be salvaged. I will probably have to trash many of those.
The stacked unboxed records were mostly in VG to near mint condition and thankfully free of water damage and mold . Many still had shrink wrap and some were still sealed. Many were promotional records marked with radio station info and stamped "Discarded". I guess that explains where these came from.

You got some awesome punk, new wave, and alternative finds Holy Cow. The Dead Milkman album "lizard in my back yard" goes for around 80 to 99 bucks on Ebay! Nothing better than being at the right place and the right time for some exciting lots. Been there and it's a amazing feeling my friend. You did great! Cheers Flash.

Great stuff there Topper for $25, you cleaned up that box alone, I can't believe there is a Weird Paul record in there, he has a very bizarre channel here on UA-cam, that is a very cool find, his channel name is Weird Paul. That Ramones album goes for around the $35 mark. Excellent stuff here. Enjoy the tunes.

Varnaline _Sweet Life_ LP is bloody brilliant! Such an underrated album
The Peter Gunn had a clean cover. Unusual for it's age. Love it. Too bad the music to T.H.E. Cat by Lalo Schifrin and other composers was never released. That show was stuffed with cool music, a lot of which was Bossa Nova
I loved T.H.E. Cat. Too bad it only had a short run on TV. Yeah, Lalo Schifrin is highly regarded by me. Mission Impossible... What a great theme.

80% is schlock, but the rest are well worth the investment. The early punk stuff like Dead Milkmen-Big Lizard alone is $25 in good condition. Well over $100 in surf/punk stuff alone. :)
Goodwill wants $3 minimum for anything and more for boxed sets. Teen Challenge thrift had a 10c sale and they weren't even worth that. So dirty and scratched. Couldn't save poor Wanda Jackson.

UPDATE: ok, just throw away those two boxes on the right.
LOL! Actually, I had to throw away almost half of those records due to mold and water damage. However, I traded a few for some choice records and then donated a few to Goodwill. I'm keeping my favorites. Thanks for watching and commenting.

That first Manfred Mann LP is a really nice find--they were doing some great blues back then. That colored vinyl Butthole Surfers album could probably fetch $25 by itself. Interesting selection!

So much great punk/alt rock.... there were a couple I was losing my mind to (Xtc, Femmes, Dead Milkmen, etc) so great job on those sir.
Did anyone notice the "WUVT" written on those records? Well seems to me those might have came from WUVT-FM a non-commercial FM radio station in Blacksburg, Virginia. Non-profit run by students apparently, licensed by Virginia Tech. Looks to me they might have been stolen. Who with that amount of diversity in their record collection would be so stupid to sell that for $25?????

It's been a few years ago but my wife went to the salvation army they had a table full of records. I think might've been 150 or 200 waylon jennings zz top skynyrd you name it it they had I bought every one of them for 25 cents a piece I hit a gold mine all of them were mint or near mint condition.

Billie Joe Armstrong. Sorry! I like a lot of diverse music, even some punk, but I cannot get into Green Day. Something about the band never appealed to me. But then again, I love a lot of artists that others are not too fond of. I have nothing against the band or anyone that likes them. Just my personal choice.

Wow! I would have brought that record stack just for the artwork, beautiful. Not sure if you’ve heard of Violent Femmes, but the songs well known on that album you pulled out are Add It Up and Blister In The Sun. My cousin got me listening to them when I was a kid.

Most of the records in the two cardboard boxes were moldy, smelly and damaged. I cleaned a few to donate to thrift stores and and threw the rest away! I am still cleaning and going through the ones in the Tupperware crate. Most are keepers!
You've got a lot of $10, $20, and $30 records from the 90s there, with some worth even more.
