Good video, thanks. I was looking for help on levelling. My subfloor looks like a roller coaster.
Glad you liked it. This will help with leveling but it will only go so far. Should work for laminate flooring.
FYI Harbor Freight has an 18ga pnuematic stapler for about $25. If you just need it for a few jobs, it will do nicely.
Thanks for the comment. I agree. I only buy tools at Harbor Freight if I know that I will only use it a couple of times or once every couple of years.
What about screws that's what I was told and sold .ty for these videos
Don't depend on caulk to stop water infiltration at a door it's essential to install a sill pan ,that's the only correct way to install a door .
What about putting it down with screws that's what I was told and sold at Menards?
I would not use screws. When using screws it is very easy to screw through the 1/4 Luan. Also, if you try to not screw through the Luan, you almost always will leave the screws high and not be counter sunk causing height variations. The Luan needs to be perfectly flat for the best look when installing the finish flooring. The narrow crown staples will be automatically counter sunk and will not go through the Luan. Plus they install very quickly. Hope this answers your question.
Can I use my finish nailer
I'm getting ready to attack this job. I'm an auto mechanic and tow truck driver and I wish this required wrenches and sockets but it doesn't so you posting this video is really taking away the anxiety to do this. Do I need a special saw blade to cut Luan? Do I use a circular saw? Jigsaw? Sawzall? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you again for a nicely detailed and informative video for people like me that don't know how to do art like what your doing
Projects like kitchen remodels can be very over whelming. You can do it. Just take your time. It is not a race. Think things through before you do them and it will come out amazing. As far a a special blade for cutting Luan. I would purchase a blade that has a least 40 teeth for your 7 1/4 circular saw.. These are more of a finishing blade. Have fun and good luck with your project.
Do you but you’re sheets tight together
Yes , sheets are put together tight. Just push them together by hand. Thanks for the question and enjoy your project!!
Thx for the tutorial very helpful just want to point out You say nails, nailer when I believe you mean staples, stapler....
Yes you are correct. I should have said narrow crown staples.
