If i can give you one advise. Please open the hole you closed in the bottom of your fuel tank and make a drain of it. It may happen that condensate (water) wil form in your tank. With this drain at the bottom of your tank, you can drain the condensate. This will prevent water being sucked into the engine, which will cause further issues.
You may already know this but if one replaces engine mounts on a boat engine you have to perform a very detailed alignment process on the propeller shaft where it couples to the transmission so there won’t be stress on the prop shaft where it passes through the cutlass bearing and shaft log caused by a very very slight misalignment of the shaft! The adjustments are done on the new engine mounts and use a feeler gauge on the coupler!
For some reason I cannot explain, I take great pleasure from seeing a beautiful clean tank. Be that deisel or water, it doesn't matter. Great job, Sir. I have watched you from the start and I love your channel. Thanks for sharing. From the UK.
Enjoyed this session. You might want to consider making arrangements for extra filtering of the fuel. Diesel love and need clean fuel. Installing a small fuel pump and extra filters that can be used when it is not in operation might be considered. This would be a process of "polishing the fuel". Love your work.
Greetings from Scotland. I’ve been watching since episode 1, and have enjoyed every video that you have posted. Your work, and attention to detail is excellent, and you have made an astounding change ( improvement ) to the boat. It’s a pleasure to watch you working on the boat, and the quality of your videos, and choice of music is wonderful. Thanks for sharing, & keep up the great work.
If you are putting appliances on the counter, you need to find a way to secure them. Otherwise, first storm and they are sliding off. You could break the appliances or worse yet, they could fall on someone. I've been on more than a boat for a few storms so that lesson sticks with me.
Very good work as always! A couple of things regarding the AC stuff, the outlets really need to go into back boxes, and the MCBs really need an enclosure as well. The idea is that any copper is either in a box, or covered by two layers of insulation. The boxes also provide strain relief in case something tugs on a cable. Wiska makes really good junction boxes in case you need to splice or junction a wire.
Your boat is looking wonderful.. I really enjoy your episodes an look forward to you motoring away to enjoy your vessel.. Your an amazing craftsman... Thanks for sharing your life with us!!! ✌🏼💗😊❣️
I'm always impressed to your attention to the details. When finished, the boat should be absolutely beautiful and well put together and greetings from Houston, TX.
J-B Weld Awesome product,, I once used it to fix 8'' tear in my aluminum boat,, it still holding strong 10 yrs & counting.. from Canada,, Your boat rebuild is Very entertaining,, thanks....
One day, when I eventually finished my boat and being on travel with it, getting also to Berlin (which quite surely is in plan!), I will make a round into Lake Rummelsburg for some greets to you. Beside: It's a nice place! Thank you very much at this time, for those wonderful vids about this amazing project of yours! I could learn a lot from it for my project, and I appreciate it very high. 👍
Oh man to my surprise you had done a new video. Wow what a great job on the tank. So satisfying. I love your boat. One day I hope to go to your beautiful country and float down some of your beautiful water ways. Please keep make your videos they are fantastic.
Looking good ......its coming along very nicely......one tip put rubber pads under the engine mounts ....it will help vibration even more ive got them on my narrow boat makes a great difference in vibration and any noise as well
gj on that tank and finally getting rid of the glued fuel pick up line....i hope the in-tank coating adheres propperly and won't flake on you. Edit: before I forget, i strongly recommend that you get your engine diesel injectors opening pressure & leak checked...correct opening pressures as well as uniform spray patterns and no dripping are very vital to an old diesel engine
Been wondering where you been! That fuel tank looked like some major work, so, more than a few days... Love the coffee press. You're getting REALLY good at your editing-- keep up the good work!
Great craftsmanship in getting your fuel tank cleaned and resealed. Looking forward to the engine mounting repairs and I know they will be first rate also.
Instead of splicing single strand (solid) wire to the multi strand wire you could either apply solder to the end of the multi strand (making it solid) or crimp on a wire ferrule/pin terminal. If the DC wires and AC wires are each encased in individual secondary sheathing and the internal color codes inside the sheathing are correct, I see no issue running them side by side.
@@jackpatteeuw9244 The problem seems to be if the DC gets induced into the AC then the AC will not oscillate around the zero volts. There is a British Standard quoting the theory but I cannot remember the number. A lot of it has recently come to the forefront with the advent of solar systems.
I plug my cell into my battery bank overnight so its fully charged in the morning. During the day I leave my battery bank plugged in to recharge it. I have assembled a ceramic tile box. Glued together with hydraulic cement .(cures in 5 minutes) so the lithium battery bank is in a fire proof container if it fails. I also have a ceramic tile box for my laptop to charge in.
Oops let me finish. .......below the suction pipe so you can remove any water from the tank. Maybe a threaded plug on top of the tank that you could remove, and insert a tube to suction any water that may be in the tank. When I was an engineer on tugboats the fuel tanks had bottom drains to remove water from the fuel tank. There is a paste called “kolor kut “ that is brown but when it touches water it turns red. Put some on a stick and insert it through the top access to the bottom of tank. Pull it out and if it’s still brown then no water. If you find water stick a small tube down and suck it out.
I'm sure about a thousand people commented that the bottom connector on the tank was threaded. You've blanked a perfectly good tank outlet and replaced it with a worse one
If you want to repair a diesel tank this is a how to video. I’m not crazy about the JB weld, or why you even needed to extend the pickup (isn’t it at the bottom with the tank pitched back?) but the prep work was perfect. The coating on that tank should last longer than you do.
Really enjoying your first boat rebuild , reminds me of two of the greatest days in my life ,The day I first purchased my 47 Ft vessel and the day I sold it ! However all the day between were wonderful filled with highs and lows that I wouldn’t trade for hardly anything ! I once heard fair sailing never made a good seaman . Looking forward for your next video.
Outstanding job do far. Remember when you first got boat. now you have managed to find the last remaining boombox in the whole world. awesome! That boombox might be worth more than the boat!! Lol
Hello , Yes good and beautiful work, just a remark about the dip pipe extension, check for any excess epoxy inside and a simple piece of diesel fuel pipe with 2 clamps or even just a length of pipe additional would have done the job, otherwise this renovation is interesting.
Great video, and well done on the diesel tank cleaning and updating. It looks like it will last the life of the boat and hopefully you won’t have to open it back up again any time soon.

I agree he just made the problem worse with no drain
My biggest issues is he's going to have one HELL of a time priming that fuel system.
well done, the quality of the story telling, film making and workmanship all top notch
and ...Sir, thank you for your excellent content, and greetings from Victoria, Australia
Sir, thank you for your excellent content, and greetings from Dallas, Texas.
JB weld always falls apart in fuel. I highly recommend just using a piece of rubber fuel line and a hose clamp for your pickup extension

Yup. That was my job at Sea Ray.
This is the way ALL "how-to" videos should be made. Everything is excellent - Narration,, photography, information supplied. Well done!

Amazing how well the tank came up A + for the effort you put into maintaining your boat.

Now, back to the rest of the video
This is like therapy... and relax.
Wow man, you are a designer and an electrician and technician and a plumber and a builder and cabinet maker, well done. Everything done perfect.
Quality of the videos is getting better and better!
Der Inhalt diesmal war auch sehr interessant, bin gespannt wie es weiter geht!
I maintain that the electrical work your doing on this boat is the single most impressive aspect of this project.
Whistles** now that's a clean diesel tank! luv it

Good for you that you got rid of that dangerous old fuel line, well done.
Excellent work your attention to detail is commendable.
Welcome back! Liked the new intro! Nice job on the tank as well!
watching from South Korea
You really did a lot with just a few projects. Cheers!
Great craftsmanship in getting your fuel tank cleaned and resealed. Looking forward to the engine mounting repairs and I know they will be first rate also.
Excellent work! Maybe you can put a filter on the pickup pipe in the fuel tank!
Love it man, in the future you could use a crimp style wire ferrule to use the stranded in solid wire electrical connectors.
Wow incredible work on that fuel tank!!! Seriously, most people would have given up upon inspection. Great perseverance and nice video.
