This is the best second movment of Bruch ever!
I think it's impossible to do better than it... Vengerov is amazing!

I heard this piece for the first time in 1974 when I bought an LP called Das Wunschkonzert of the record label Deutsche Grammophon. Right away I fell in love when Igor Oistrakh plays the solo violin and his father, David Oistrakh conducted the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. And I never thought that someone violinist could ever do something similar. But after 39 years, I heard Maxim Vengerov perform it from a recording in 1994 with Kurt Masur who conducted the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra (how I could now miss this?) And then I fell in love again. And still is.

Both performances are brilliant, Stefan, I fully agree with you. I'm listening to them second by second, it's so delightful to be able find the subtle differences in the interpretation of this masterful Concerto. Bravo David Oistrakh and Maxim Vengerov. Bravo Max Bruch and dexxy80 thanks for uploading this Video to UA-cam !!!

Just when you think there is nowhere to go from the storm of the first movement this raises up your trembling frame.

He plays it very, very beautifully, but, only "Jascha Heifetz" played this concert more beautiful! But this is only my opinion!!
