How To: Install a VERSATUBE Carport - Fast & Easy

I would make concrete my last step.
If you are off a little, it is impossible to correct in dry concrete.

I may have missed it but I don't think you said how deep you made those concrete holes. I have a concrete slab I will be setting mine on it's for inches thick with rebar I think it'll work what do you think?

Most footing requirements depend on your location.
A lot has to do with frost line.
I’m in Arizona so we get basically zero snow all year and our grounds don’t freeze so we don’t have a frost line. Therefore, our minimum footing requirement per code is just 12” deep.
In other areas where it snows though it could be as deep as 36”.
But that’s code.
Between you and me…. The 4” slab will be just fine for a simple carport like in the video

How do you make sure the first roof panel is lined up perfectly?

me personally i measure the edge of the panel to the edge of the roof truss piece. Make sure its the same measurement on the front truss as it is on the further truss back the panel is sitting on. That sounds kind of confusing but its hard to explain. Some people try to line it up with the center of the peak, but honestly the tolerances of these buildings are kind of low so sometimes the bend can be in the wrong spot so that doesn't always work for me

Im about to order just a versatube frame i think. People all the time selling good used metal or companies having bundle deals. Think i can save about a grand $ . Helps that I'm not in any big hurry. Plus it'll be 40 foot long and I'm very much trying to do it in 2 goes with 20 foot panels. Think i determined id only need 12 panels. 16 if I want it to come down over the sides more but that could be added later

Can the Engineered trusses from VersaTube be installed after the carport is assembled? I put up a VersaTube carport on my property and I am considering buying a few trusses to stiffen up the structure.

didn't realize they send 10 ft panels, so on the lap length wise do they recommend butyl tape for the lap?

yes, i dont always put it in though. but in arizona it doesnt rain much

It looks like you got 18 sheet metal panels to finish the job. I only got 16 sheets for a 20x20x7. Did they buy extra sheets?

For it being 20x20 is the width measurement the opening for the carport or does it include the framing
