Good Luck! HA HA Getting the brother-in-law to come grade that area was smart! Remember when it rains hard, the runoff will most likely make under the shed a soggy mess, so after you have it built, get a couple of loads of crushed stone dropped off and fill under the shed with about 4 inches of it compacted, otherwise you will be working in a wet mess all the time! No sun can get to it to dry it out. And yes, get some 24 inch spikes, if they are not furnished and spike the bottom runners on both ends and between every vertical. Otherwise the first wind will pick it up and it will be a big pile of scrap metal!
It's been going better than I thought, but we'll see what happens once I move onto the next steps...lol...I have a way of making things that should be simple into very complex situations sometimes...hahaha
I always thought you might have a screw loose. With that many screws I might be right😂 Versa Tube was a good choice! We are currently in an all day steady rain here that was much needed! Looking forward to seeing the build progress 👊🏻
You have my complete attention on this project. I was considering Versa Tube but had my doubts. Cannot wait to see how it works out for you and help my decision.
That's great you have in house experience from a bro in law that can grade like that. I'm sure he'll steer ya right knowing his skills.👍 Enjoy the process Dan. The build just got ALOT easier with a flat start
Great looking Carport. Should serve it Purpose once its done. Keep you out of the Elements for your wood processing. Can't wait to see it when its Finished Dan. I agree with you reaching out for assistance in leveling the area. See you at the next Video Sir. Ron from Duanesburg NY.
I put together 2 carports at my house a few years ago and it was definitely a pain but with the cost savings it was worth it. It's amazing what holds everything together. Stay safe my friend
hi there there is a person worse at grading then you , thats me .i turn flat ground into washboards , what are reading the instructions for , those are fire starter . the rain is natures way of helping you check for level and water run off .well done , john
Just a suggestion Back dragging like that will wear out the heal of the bucket What I've done on my tractors Was weld a 1,/2 " thick 4x4 angle to the back. From time to time I would run some weld beads if needed
Hi Dan, I have had great success usìng a Harley Rake on a skid steer for leveling ground. Also, I am tearing down mg 30 YO wood she'd. I'm considering a car port. I'll be paying close attention to what you're doing. Shalom/gw
@@williamellis8993 yep that's one of the spots you need to measure and find center of the peak...then once that bracket is in the other web pieces of the truss bolt together and the bracket only will fit in one spot so placement is easy.
Saw that T770 and first thought was you convinced @OneEyeCustom to help out. Fury friends hanging out is part of why I love what I do. Plenty here also checking out what I’m doin. Looks good so far.
Ha...yeah I think I cycled charges on the battery for the impact driver a few too many times now. At least at some point we'll be done screwing around! lol...hey, that might be my next title!! HAhahahaha

Looks like a major project Dan. Can’t wait to see the finished results.

@@everettt8301 Everett we did get about a 6-1/2 hour rain this AM. We very much needed it. 👍🏻

Why'd you stop because of the rain? Working with steel framing in a thunderstorm. What could go wrong?

We need that rain here in NJ.
Looks good, see you next time.

How does it get anchored to the ground? Am watching how this goes for you in the next few weeks I should be getting my versa tube kit
I think you will be very happy with the building and you could store some corn for the deer😅

When I saw the trailer I thought the driver might be cousin Slick Willy.
Looking good, Dan. Were the attachment points marked or did you have to measure to find them?
Bill
There were a few spots to measure out, but for the most part the tubes slide together and that's where you drive in the screws.
@@Back40Firewood I was wondering mostly about the truss attachment points.

I need a 20 deep by 30 wide (30 would be the open side) for my sawmill. How much was the one you bought and who did you get it from?
Do the the instructions have plenty of good pictures or just written instructions and diagrams?
Just like playing with Legos. 😁👍
Must be nice. Don't be hogging all the rain, I've got crops that need it bad. We only had bout 1 1/2 inches in may which came all at once
We were super dry up here too in May, I know many areas are.
Rain delay🍺🍺🍺
👏👏👏

Hey that looks like what I did. Hahahaha. We hate screwing around. Lol

I think you should really consider putting them furry critters to work, their always hanging around
Do those deer even offer to help? They can do more than walking around acting like they own the place. Juss sayn.
I like to think it's what you know about who you know??
Ha...yeah that's also a good saying to keep in mind.
Imagine you know the base needs to be well anchored, these get picked up and destroyed by a high wind…..
Holy screwing. Lol
Ha...yeah no kidding. I've had days where I've screwed around in the woodyard but this takes to a whole new level! LOL
Don't let your math teachers see this video! lol (That's why I teach social studies because my math is not any better).
Hahahaha...what threw me off was that with one hand holding the camera I'm only able to count to 5! lol
loose the music
Hello Dan, Great seeing the Bobcat Advantage, Should make setting up the carport much easier 👏👍🏼🪵🇺🇸
Needed to call in the big guns with the Bobcat...man that thing made all the difference!
