- Arzette The Jewel Of Faramore is an attempt to pay tribute to those classic Zelda CDI games that helped define the medium of UA-cam Poop (YTP). How well does it do that? Well Stuart K Reilly is about to tell you in this hilarious review.

That one cutscene that was rotoscoped over 3D models just adds some extra charm to the animations. The bizarre inconsistency was one of the things that made the original CDI cutscenes so memorable.
Just one thing is out of place: Arvette is too cool. To truly capture the CDI experience, everyone should be kind of a dork
Actually, the cutscenes in the Zelda CD-i scenes were all outsourced to all of these different animation studios in Russia so the fact that different animators worked on each of the cutscenes also pays homage to that aspect. Fun Fact: the cutscene where Arzette rides a zipline was animated by WalrusGuy.
Also, the cute demon girl who asks for Oil and gives you a mushroom was voiced by Tara Strong's niece and she was deliberately doing an impression of her aunt's more notable voice roles.
oh them getting walrusguy kinda sucks as he's a huge anti-vaxxer weirdo these days....
@@polocatfan really??
@@polocatfanBased Walrusguy as usual, I see.
that explains why the characters, especially link looks different in each cutscene
I still can't believe that not only did Digital Foundry's John Linneman do a voice in the game, he actually worked on it.
It's a small world, I suppose. Doesn't make it any less shocking.
They got 🅱️inny as well
Thought of both things when I heard "Wolf Amongus" lol
16:12 THERE I AM GARY THERE I AM
Also, your enthusiasm about this game is super great I love this lol
Arzette has been a treat all the way through.
The game as a concept. All the people involved. Watching people play. Hearing all the familiar voices. And now this.
Amazing, inspiring stuff. Boy I hope it gets a sequel (And give Stu a role. He can be an NPC that operates a newsstand :P )
The credits do say that “Arzette will return” so yeah, a sequel is basically confirmed.
watching in 144p for the immersion
I KNEW without a shadow of a doubt that you were going to cover this game. You can take the man out of the UA-cam Poop, but you can't take the UA-cam Poop out of the man! ...That sounded a lot better in my head.
Regardless, I still want to get the collector's bundle on Limited Run that comes with a replica of the CD-i's dogshit controller. I can't believe they actually did that.
16:19 Nice. I noticed one of my ytp's there. "The Book of Die"
You left out one of the best parts! Jeffery Rath and Bonnie Jean Wilbur are not only in the intro and tutorial, but they’re also ACTUAL CHARACTERS too! Bonnie is Brinda (the red haired lady in the tavern) and Jeffery is Skelvis (the Skeleton Elvis guy in Boanjale Crypts)!
This Game Deserves Another sequel, i really enjoyed this game!
The one thing I love about Arzette is that she doesn’t show any mercy to the enemy. She’s straight up blood thirsty.
Like a anti-heroine
Good
This feels so on point for u to review Stu, gotta love to see a ytpoopers perspective!
I love how the team who made this game was so dedicated to the joke they even made their company name a pun.
Great video, Cypress, I mean Stu! I've been waiting for you to cover this game for obvious reasons and you delivered it. I got Arzette on my Steam wishlist already, gonna buy it in the future. And congratulations on getting your first sponsor!
Really nice review for a game that's worth the attention. Good job Stu :) It especially felt nice hearing you show so much positivity towards some of your roots.
Forget pixar and hd graphics. Give me a whole tv series of just this style
Congratulations on your first sponsor Reilly! Also I was hoping you would check this title out!
So oddly I was not surprised in the slightest it would be a good game. Genuinely love it and was very fun to play through. Loved Arzette's character. I do like that the game kept the spirit of not just the cutscenes but also the boss fights being hilariously easy
It'd be nice if this channel had some YTPs. Wonder where they all went
Stu deleted them a couple weeks back :(
Crazy that this guy is still round on UA-cam. Watched YTP News back when I was way too young to know what any of it was. Now I’m a fur who [rarely] makes shitpost videos. Splendid review of a splendid game-
I streamed this on discord with a friend who grew up on that kind of internet. We had an absolute blast and I absolutely loved it! It was probably a 3 day playthrough to 100% the game.
I really hope this does well enough to have a sequel at least considered.
Enjoyed this game so much. Played through it 3 times to get all the achievements on steam.
Definitely worth buying.
Live seeing games made from the heart

YOU GOT TO WORK WITH PUPPET COMBO!?
And apparently they never paid him yeesh...
The rotoscoped cutscene is better than the opening one, imo. Those bizarre perspective changes are characteristic of a lot of Russian animation and are all over the Animation Magic games, but seem to be lacking in some of the cutscenes in this game. Some scenes even feel oddly restrained-the thing that makes the classic cd-i cutscenes magical is that everything is moving, like the animators thought it'd be too boring if anything was left static.
I love that Arzette is a parody of the Zelda CD-i games. They even got those weird close-ups and bizarre animations right.
ive never heard Stu this excited before for something
You've always gotta appreciate a passion project of this caliber, son.
You got a sponsor! Kudos on the ability to pay some bills!
i'm not saying the game was made for you in the most literal possible sense, but it absolutely was
Yeah, I had a blast playing this, scratches an itch that very very few things do.
I straight up love this game alot more than Zelda TotK.
Been playing this and the recent Tomb Raider Remasters.
Maybe someday we'll get the OG Zelda CDI games on Switch...... but a man can dream.
all the cutscenes are amazzeing
Another great video, as per usual, Stu! Just what i needed after a long work shift and a tonne of printing.
I wonder what's for dinner...
I’ll be looking forward to the sequel with the farting flea!
the game was a joy to 100%
Or it could be that shape shifting wolf from zelda cdi
one of the few games I got on launch~ for almost exactly the same reasons as Stu
I have been waiting for this video
SAYGEX 😂
Elden Ring is just a more sophisticated, ""adult" Zelda game, I swear to god.
Do you think it's bad?
@@anonymouslucario285No, its actually pretty good if you can get your footing in it. Very fun game. As addicting as IV drugs too!
@@anonymouslucario285 No, I love it actually. It's like a more advanced Ocarina of Time or Twilight Princess.
Nice to see you got yourself a sponsor
funny to see your sona looks a lot friendlier than it used to hehe
all i can say is:
*_yes._*
ANOTHER PERFECT VIDEO FROM WORKING MAN GAMES 🔥🔥🔥
Yay! Stuart's Back!
Anybody else watch this after finding out he won't be making anymore videos? I know I'm sad about it too
8:30
I thought the same thing
I'm arzetteing my jewel of faramore rn.
Don't worry I thought of wolf among us instead of among us
Seedy Eye… I see what they did there.
I wonder how long until he plays time splitters, barely anyone remembers the game
And here i wonder, if the game ever have a sequell...will it be a 2D game or it will be a top-down classic Zelda game with live-action?
For me, the sequel should be in 2D and to focus on Dail.
Next paycheck I get from Grand Floridian, I’m buying this.
Is there any pyshical copies is it only a digital copies?
Conveniently, you uploaded this the same day as the OST’s full release. Oh and also why did you only mention Steam? It’s on other systems too you know?
When are you making a Jazz 2 video?
Oh yes!!
Did you cut out the Vista sponser??
It was a scammer pretending to be Vista. The Real Vista was never involved.
@@NGB1122 That's just pure BS.
I beat this game a total of 4 fucking times, it's so damn fun. Plus the boss rush
I assume by 4 times you mean each difficulty?
Plus the boss rush
@@angelriverasantana7755Ah. Ok.
I'll give this a look, Stu! Def something different.
...though you gotta talk about Alan Wake II like that? Man, I get you don't like it, but what'd my boy do to you?
I dunno. I'm hesitant to get the game, considering who the publisher is.
Limited Run Games. I don't obviously support them, but I support the developers and the kudos they did on bringing the cheesy charm of the Zelda CD-i games to the modern day; a hugely impossible task, mind you!
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Clive, Beeves and Apatu are so offensive it's not even funny. Arzette might as well shout "Y!ff in heII" upon taking them out.
I have always had a strong stance against the notion of trying to create schlock intentionally; my experience is, it just doesn't work. The magic of schlock, be it in games, film, television, etc., is when it is genuine and unintentional, when a creator shoots for the stars and faceplants; the difference between, say, Plan 9 From Outer Space or Deadly Premonition vs. The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra or Deadly Premonition 2, if you get my meaning. Deliberately engineered schlock is tiresome, unfunny, and frankly disingenuous.
This is... something quite different.
What makes Arzette so very interesting to me is, it clearly emulates the shoddy aesthetic of the Zelda CDI games... but with competency. Like, the voice actors are giving performances meant to evoke those on the CDI, but they clearly have genuine talent and actually know what they are doing; same with the writing, which evokes the lines and structure of the inspiration, but is clearly well thought-out and not just slapped together by some funky foreign translation job. A gem in schlock's clothing, if you will. I don't know if I have ever experienced another piece of media quite like this in that regard, and it makes Arzette one of the most pleasant surprises I have had with a new, original release in quite a while, especially in this day and age where disappointment is more often than not what you get.
9:30 I actually thought of both when I got to like bootleg you, lol
Can we be friends now? :V
Also great video, heh ^^
