    Had to borrow a 4" hole saw today from one of the carpenters on site. Was real impressed with the ease of removing the puck. Jumped online tonight for a solid review. As always I was happy to see your channel pop up. This kit is even on sale at Rona right now.

    I have had my 9PC for years. I believe I got it on a Black Friday probably 5or 6 years ago. It's been sitting on my shelf ever since. Today I wanted to see what all i can do and how to use it. Thank you so much. For a Woman who loves to work with wood and building my own things., I'm going to love using this.

    Thank you so much for this video ! I needed to cut a hole in a feral cat shelter - bought an 11 piece Spyder set and had no clue how to use it. Some of us females don’t have a male living home with a work shop full of items to use immediately. Thankfully your video showed me within ten minutes how to use my Spyder set. I had my hole drilled within 30 minutes - set-up with screwdriver, extension cord, etc. to drill my hole. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

      @@hammerandhome Both cats are feral and the one who will be using the shelter is just a young cat - 8 to 10 months old. Yeah, I hope he uses it well since come Xmas Eve, temps are supposed to be in the low teens. I hate to see animals having to suffer. Thanks again for a great video! Best to you and yours during the holiday season !

    Thank you so much for this review! I have a question if you could maybe guide me. So I did the 2 saw method to enlarge a hole. When I put the inside bit on I did put it rather right and after drilling my hole I could not for the life of me get the inside bit out. Going through the wood must have made it even tighter. How in the world would you get this inside bit out in this situation. I didn’t want to use a hammer to try to tap the bit and ruin it. I also tried to put a bar through the bit through the holes on the side and tried to twist it out with no luck. I was to afraid of messing up the bit. What could I do? Thank you so much👍🏻

    • @hammerandhome
      @hammerandhome  4 місяці тому +1

      Try the bar again. But put a torch on the bit for a bit to heat it up.

    • @99zman
      @99zman 4 місяці тому

      @@hammerandhome Thank you I will try that. Have you had this issue happen to you using the bits this way? Do they remove normally for you? In you vid you just snugged it. I think I just over tightened it. Thank so much for your time.

    • @hammerandhome
      @hammerandhome  4 місяці тому +1

      @@99zman I never tighten the bit all the way.

    So when you used the smaller bit as a pre drill wouldn’t you start the hole then take the smaller bit out so you can get the piece out and not have to take it out of the drill?

    • @hammerandhome
      @hammerandhome  3 роки тому

      Yes you could do that if you want.

      I'm pretty sure that if you have a secend adapter that attaches to the hole saw itself you can fit both of them onto the drill bit, it's long enough to have two on there, one would be locked into the groove of the pilot bit the the bigger one would be sitting against the drill chuck

    are other brand of arbors usable with the spyder wholesaws

    • @richardmortimore9245
      @richardmortimore9245 Рік тому

      Yes other arbors work with the large spyer holesaws, but you can't use the quick release function with other arbors.

    On my kit both arbor drill bits separated from the arbor with light use. I'll stick with Milwaukee

    • @davidbenson776

      Amazon reviews suggest they aren't that great !

    • @tccoggs
      @tccoggs 2 роки тому +1

      I can concur with this, the drill bit portion of the arbor tends to snap off where to transitions to hex shank. I have just been keeping spares on hand at $6 a pop. The holesaws themselves are fine, I sometimes use them with a starret or Milwaukee arbors.

      They have bi-metal hole saw kits too. I'm pretty sure those little adapters will screw onto any hole saw so if you have others then you can use that pilot bit and adapter

    @Hammer and Home You should check out this UA-cam video: ua-cam.com/video/xIYZIWPRBos/v-deo.html about locking chucks. This chuck locking is just a bit different on my Dewalt DCD999 drill driver - after tightening the ‘locking’ chuck, un-tighten the chuck just a bit then re-tighten the chuck. You will hear a distinct ‘click’ from the chuck that confirms that the chuck is now locked around the shaft of the bit.

    Worst hole saw kit I've ever used. Pilot bits break easy. It's good for concrete and nothing else

    • @micahhill4786

      I strongly agree the pilot bits break off I even silver brazed the bit on it and it bend. The pilot bits are the biggest weak point.
