Hey, the largest Rock concert in history was outside. It was called "Woodstock" back in the month of August, in the summer of 1969. I've been to many concerts in the late 60s, and all through the 70s, and I'll take the outdoor concerts over the crowded, smokey, and dark indoor ones every time. Have a good time God Bless

This is THE song that started my musical journey....I was about 8 years old....found the album in my dad's collection and decided to check it out. I was HOOKED!!! Next came the album One of these nights by the EAGLES. The album cover got my attention...it was beautiful. A music junkie was born that day. If it hadn't been for Foghat and the EAGLES that summer day. .....my life would have been so boring...LOL!!
The vocalist was "Lonesome" Dave Peverett. The lead guitar was Rod Price. BOTH passed away quite long time ago. There may be 1 original member. It's other musicians who are carrying the name Foghat.
For $10.and change on June 04, 1977 at Soldier Field Chicago, Illinois I was one of what at the time was said to be 70,000 people to see what was called The Super Bowl of Rock. Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Climax Blues Band, The J. Geils Band and Foghat played. It was one hell of a day and evening!
Enjoy the concert guys. My first concert was The Doobie Brothers, 1976, University of Oregon Campus, MacArthur Court. First song was China Grove. I seen them now 6 times. Thanks again and Rock on.
When I was younger this song got a lot of play time. It is cool you are letting your kids appreciate different varieties of music. I took my sons to outdoor concerts in Vancouver, oldest son was 10 (1983, )and my newborn son (1993) as well to a mellower band that I always loved...Moody Blues. This one was in a big park at Deer Lake, and it was good, for my son to experience rock music, with a symphony orchestra as well, showing these two different types of music van be blended, and appreciated. I actually named my newborn son after the lead singer and guitarist , Justin ( Hayward). Moody Blues were one of my favorite bands since late 60, early 70s. My son loved it, as did I. Enjoy your concert with your girls !
This song on "Dazed and Confused" movie just tells story of Friday nights in high school chilling and having a fun time. You've never seen movie, check it out Ben Affleck and Mathew McConaughey kill in movie
The guitarist is Rod Price, who was known as "the Wizard of Slide Guitar". Unfortunately, Rod is no longer with us, having passed away in 2005. And lead singer Dave Peverett died in 2000. The current band is basically drummer Roger Earl and replacement players. Some of duration (guitarist Bryan Bassett has been in the band since 1999, so presumably he can do a decent Rod Price imitation) and some brand new (singer Scott Holt just joined this year). But they're all professionals and your vid from the concert seems to indicate y'all had fun. Hope you get to go to more shows and perhaps see bands where the "classic lineup" is more intact. Best wishes.
The short version of "Slow Ride" was played on Top 40 fm and am radio stations during the 1970's so they would fit in the 3:30-4:00 minute time allotted on those stations. When I was a teenager during the 1970's, you would only hear the full album version of "Slow Ride" on FM progressive or album rock stations. The first version of "Slow Ride" I eve heard was this short version, and I heard the longer version after buying the album "Fool For The City." Discovering this was one thing that compelled me to abandon Top 40 radio for FM rock radio.

I think the only original member from the 70s currently is the Drummer Roger Earl.
Good Ole Raw and Raunchy American Rock'n Roll from the mid-70's ! Beer, cars and bell bottoms :-D
DAM STRAIT FEATHARD HAIR AND MINNI SKIRTS 70s babes EVERY WHERE I was there , And 77 Thunder Birds Smokey and the Bandit
This song was used in an Allstate commercial earlier this year, and has been used in commercials for Chili's and Firestone Tires in the past.
Very underrated band in my opinion. Awesome bass line.
Oh man! You guys missed out! You got the short version! You guys MUST listen to the original LONG version! You are missing soooooo much! An absolutely classic drum groove, fantastic guitar riffs, and really sweet bass licks!
I was at their reunion concert in Kalamazoo Michigan back in the late 90s
Both my daughters graduated from WMU. Go Broncos!!!
Foghat is an awesome band that still does hundreds of shows a year.
I believe you would both love “ I Just Wanna Make Love to You” from their Live album.
This song used to be great at the state fairs when you were riding the bobsled and they had you flying around and up and down and they'd be playing some slow ride it was a blast
This reminds me of cruising on Fri and Sat nights. Just great rockin music and good times to be had!
SO excited for you to see your first concert and you get to experience it as a family! How special and amazing! You are going to love it! Foghat still rocks for a bunch of old guys like me!
Unfortunately 3 of the four members of this band passed away including lead vocalist Lonesome Dave Peverett.. but when they played live they were a powerhouse.
So excited for you all and your first concert! I'm sure you will get some GREAT guitar work there tonight! Thanks for this reaction! 💙✌
You have to watch the movie “Dazed and Confused”. This song - and many other classic songs - are in the movie. You will love it!
This was also used in an Allstate commercial. Great band, I seen them in concert in a small venue here in Charlotte and they did not get on stage until after 10:00 and it was well worth the wait. They blew the roof off of the building, I know you enjoyed it tonight!
This is a car vibe!! On my playlist for years snd years!! 🎶Take it easy, guys! ❤
You two resonate peace love and faith.it shows strength.it is so awsom to see you enjoy the music.its like sitting down with ya all Braking Bread.i can't believe how all this music and all these people come together. And to you thank you.
Very fun song while riding a spinning carnival ride back in the 70s❤🤘Rock On Yall!
Have a good time
God Bless
Good one Jay & Amber!! LOVE this band!!!! Try "Stone Blue" or "Midnight Madness" next. Or "Third Time Lucky" if you want a super commercial hit song.
Drivin Wheel and Stone Blue
Wife here...Grew up with this song.., Now even with sooo many responsibilities and a great family...I still CRANK this up when I'm driving!!!...Thanks you guys!!
Their Whole “Foghat Live” release would be worthy of a reaction(it only has 6 songs on it but it packs a PUNCH!). This Slow Ride version is edited. You missed out hearing the solo.
I love this song. I love to drive fast to this song.
I’ll be forever grateful to have witnessed the greatest era of rock n roll to have ever graced mankind.
YOU NEED TO DO *THE EXTENDED VERSION!!!* 🤘🏽🤘🏽
The vocalist was "Lonesome" Dave Peverett. The lead guitar was Rod Price.
BOTH passed away quite long time ago. There may be 1 original member. It's other musicians who are carrying the name Foghat.
Roger Earl the drummer is the only original member🥁😎
- *”DAZED AND CONFUSED” (1993)*
MOVIE 🔥🔥😎😎🤘🏽
70s movie baby rock your ass off lol
For $10.and change on June 04, 1977 at Soldier Field Chicago, Illinois I was one of what at the time was said to be 70,000 people to see what was called The Super Bowl of Rock. Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Climax Blues Band, The J. Geils Band and Foghat played. It was one hell of a day and evening!
J. Geils -- "Angel is the Centerfold" RIP J. Geils...
Oh my God this was the short version. You guys have got to listen to the longer version on your own. You missed the excellent ending.
Enjoy the concert guys.
My first concert was The Doobie Brothers, 1976, University of Oregon Campus, MacArthur Court.
First song was China Grove. I seen them now 6 times.
Thanks again and Rock on.
HEY NUMBER 1 OREGON DUCKS .HOWS IT GOING AS A FAN IN 12 3 2024 for us this year ? From SeaSide Oregon .
I agree the longer version is better!
When I was younger this song got a lot of play time. It is cool you are letting your kids appreciate different varieties
of music. I took my sons to outdoor concerts in Vancouver,
oldest son was 10 (1983,
)and my newborn son (1993) as well to a mellower band that I always loved...Moody Blues. This one was in a big park at Deer Lake, and it was good, for my son to experience rock music, with a symphony orchestra as well,
showing these two different types of music van be blended, and appreciated. I actually named my newborn son after the lead singer and guitarist ,
Justin ( Hayward).
1970s ALL THE WAY JAY LOL
Foghat, Humble Pie, Savoy Brown...soulful rock bands I've been listening to at least 30 years. Sadly the original leaders of all 3 bands are gone.
It's amazing 🤓🤓🤓
The music actually takes over Amber
❣️❤️❣️
Chair Dancer Princess
Best wishes.
this song is a part of fair history. almost every bobsled ride at county fairs plays this song as you are spinning around
Yes! I went on one last week and was very disappointed that they didn’t play it!😂😂
Yes, in the 70s, this song always played on the bobsled when they slowed down, went backwards and then sped up.
From what i heard is Foghat has only 1 member left from the 70s, So they will sound nothing like they did in the 70s
8 out of 10 Doctors agree: Listening to this song while driving will get you a speeding ticket
Ugh
THAT band could boogie. R.I.P. Lonesome Dave and Rod the Bottle.
My favorite band! Rod Price was the amazing guitarist on this and so many other songs (RIP). You will have an amazing time at the concert, enjoy!!
Foghat was my very first concert way back in the day ('78 or '79, I think...yeah, I'm old and forgetful). Awesome band/song; hope you had a great time!
OMG...first Concert you have ever been to.. Congratulations ! A true milestone in life. I've set up a party in your celebration. Foghat is a good 1 to take your family too. J and Amber Enjoy and remember the moment. Slow ride has been in so many movies I couldn't count them all. Cheers, This 1's for you. Rock on !!🤘😎👍🎸🎶
There is a reason the 70s favourite word was "Groovy" lol. So many songs with groove for DAYS and this is one of them. Enjoy your concert guys 😀❤😀
Right on i can DIG IT MAN AND BRING SOME GREEN 70s brat
Rod Price, RIP. One of the best slide guitarist in rock history!
Three words:
Carl's Jr commercial.
Pure sexiness of rock and roll personified.
Oh my goodness!! I remember skating to this song back when I was 13 or 14 back in 1976-77. Love this song!
The song "Slow Ride" was in the movie, Dazed and Confused. Great Reaction, Jay and Amber!
This must be the radio version.
On the original, they jam out at the ending.
I wish you guys had done the full-length album version from the great *Fool For The City* album in 1975. It clocks-in at a whopping 8:15 and is the centerpiece of the album. The lead guitarist is slide guitarist Rod "The Bottle" Price. The lead singer and rhythm guitarist is "Lonesome" Dave Peverett. This band was rockin'.
