🔍🩺 Learn about an important blood biomarker I follow on all of my patients, known as Homocysteine.
🧬 Homocysteine is an Inflammatory Amino Acid that builds up in your body. Your body gets rid of homocysteine with the help of B Vitamins 💊 through a process called Methylation💡.
🔺 If your homocysteine is high, this means you're deficient in B Vitamins. I like to use Homocysteine as an inverse marker of your B vitamin needs. Ideal Homocysteine is 6 (lower the better)⬇️.
❤️🔥 If your homocysteine is high, it is associated with greater cardiovascular risk (risk of heart attack💔, stroke🌀, and dementia🧠), so lowering your homocysteine is a big part of preventing disease!

💊 Solutions to Lower Homocysteine:
1️⃣ Methyl B Complex -- can be taken daily to help with energy⚡, stress😰, and methylation💡.
2️⃣ Methylation Support -- this is a stronger supplement with the additional cofactor, trimethylglycine, to help lower homocysteine⬇️.
We carry both of these in our Supplement Store (see link in bio).

Do MD's ever talk about Homocysteine? My husband has struggled with high BP for yrs! Not 1 doctor has mentioned this! Started him on TMG and methylated B vitamins. His BP is down 20 pts in 8 wks! Feels the best he's felt in yrs!
Amazing! Love to hear this. I have a whole video on Hypertension if you are interested which also touches on homocysteine:

The link doesn't work, ugh.
I started methyl b shots and after one week I got bad acne so I’m stopping. How long do I have to wait before I can test my home assisting without the test being skewed by my recent injections?
Y homocysteine was 17, and on methyl b is now under 3. I can’t find information on whether
Great question. I haven't see it that low before. I've seen it as low as 4 and that is usually fine.
@randyalbertsw1992 Search Dr Ben Lynch low homocysteine. He talks about it periodically and I believe has a few articles about it.
My vitamin B levels came back fine but my homocysteine levels were high 🤔
Yes that is why I don't find B vitamin levels helpful. They are often high in anyone taking even a multivitamin. I explain this in more detail in my video on MTHFR
Thanks for this information ❣️
Is it true that high levels of homocysteine is related to rheumatoid
Arthritis?
No it's more of a cardiovascular inflammation marker and high levels are associated with heart disease, stroke and Alzheimer's dementia.
My homocysteine keeps going up and is 31. I am very inflamed and swollen. I'm homozygous c677t. My b levels always come back fine after a blood test and whenever i take any methylated b vitamins, i get even more inflamed and feel worse. Is there any other way i can lower my homocysteine? I've used tmg also and i didn't feel well with that either. Thank you!

Glutathione is another supplement that can help.
Some people tolerate just Methyl B12 (not complex).

Thanks!
Very interesting 🤔
Thanks Doc !
Thanks for watching!
Thank you Dr. for this very valuable info. I just found out I have this, probably as a fluke because an alternative Dr. tested me. I bought the methyl b complex and you confirmed that that was the right thing to do. I am REALLY PISSED OFF at my regular Dr. for not picking this up!!! God only knows how long I have unknowingly had this.
Glad you found this helpful.
Mam mera homocysteine 22 aaya hai or vitamin b9 is 0.47 to kya ye low hai? I have chest pain, weakness, feeling faint.
Sorry to hear this. Please discuss with your doctor.

Can we do strength training if we have high homocysteine levels? Or should we just focus on cardio?
As i have been told it puts you on risk of a stoke if we do intense strength training
Yes both are fine. But you want to work on reducing homocysteine by supplementing with Methyl B Complex: dr-rajsrees-public-supplement-store.myshopify.com/collections/essential-vitamins/products/methyl-b-complex

What about hydroxy doctor, your views i will appreciate
Some tolerate Hydroxy B12 better if Methyl B12 causes anxiety (although this is rare).

Good morning mam
Good morning!
I have high homocystine around 14. But I can’t handle methyl. B’s.
Glutathione and Methyl B12 (have you tried just B12?) can help.
@@drrajsree yes, that is what I am on now. I’m going to test in a couple months and see if it brings my homocystine down. 😁
I have tried different forms, and I have not been able to bring it below 13 in several years. But I’m not sure if it’s because I’m not consistent every day.

Is there a reason why methylation supplements seem to give me brain fog?
Interesting.. I have not heard that before... Sometimes people who don't tolerate Methyl B12 do better with Adenosyl/Hydroxy B12.
@@drrajsree thank you for the response! I’ll try those :)
Some people with certain genetics can’t break down methylation properly
