Methylation is an area of health that has received a lot of attention lately but these issues are a lot more common than most people realize. In fact, approximately 40-60% of the population has genetic variations that affect methylation and can create a wide variety of health issues ranging from headaches to heart disease.

Hi Dr. Robin, I enjoyed your video's on this testing. I had the MTHFR genetic blood test done from my PCP about 4 weeks ago. I've been a wreck my whole life and I had to get this testing done. RESULT: POSITIVE FOR TWO COPIES OF THE A1298C
VARIANT. My PCP that is an MD isn't familiar with this test and told me I needed to find someone else to explain the results. I am in Arkansas and have contacted five Naturopathic doctors according to google, and they can't explain anything about the results or who could help me. What other type of doctor is knowledgeable in this area to help me figure this out so I can get my son tested?

Hey, thanks for the watch :) That’s frustrating that even the local NDs are up to date on this. I know that some chiropractors or osteopathic doctors can be knowledgeable as well, but definitely check ahead of time as many aren’t. I hope you find someone! This is such a common issue

Also, the genetic test don’t always have to come from a provider. I believe public companies like 23&me let anyone order their kits directly.
