I loved it when the Electra’s engine started during the second try and when Joe messed up his son’s hair. There’s a lot of love there.
Eagerly waiting for the next epidode
Landing a loaded C-46 on a short runway on an island is a) Crazy b) Impressive c) A test of piloting skill or d) All of the Above!
one of my favorite episode, love it
I don't think an episode goes by without at least 1 of these planes breaking down.....
They should have pulled TXW from service before it was to late, the amount of trouble it has been in on this show is just unreal. It's was clearly never safe to fly.
At least one or more. How can the airline afford it?
It should be obvious that's baked into the show's recipe. It's what makes people keep watching. An old plane going from point A to point B without a hitch is going to get boring after one episode. The thrill of seeing a crew work around a problem is much more interesting.
That Beer chug for Canada on UK territory. Good times!!
I'm pretty much sure that I watched this in previous episode!...
It's a repeat of an old episode. They've done it a bit this season. At least twice.
Well done Mikey, You got a thumbs up from New Zealand on your yard glass. In New Zealand it's a must on your 21st birthday.
Thank you
What a drop kick Mikey is. No succession plan there. He's like a child.
Mikey is a king!
I'm addicted to this series... Cheerio(s) 🤪
Kiwi girl is a hottie 😊
The great English Oaf is not a type we're proud of this side of the pond. But Jr out did them. Well done lad.
Next time youre over govtovthe Crooked House Pub in dudley. You'll love it.
Crooked House would sort him out as would a night out in the Black Country :-)
C-46's are indestructible!
Micky: The Chumlee of Buffalo.
Just WOW....!
Can you upload a documentary about the Amsterdam crash, El Al 1862?
Hi there kiwi girl all the way from New Zealand Wanganui
Mikey is forever a big kid. He is one of those guys.
The son Mikey is like Jimmy from GTA V type of son🤣 only my boy looks like 30 something
Fantastic video ✈️❤️
I really wonder how they stay in buessness?
The old man knows his buessness, but the kid seems clueless unless just goofing for cameras.
Lots of added drama for the camera.
Intresting to see the mechanics of air frame and power plants.
I think maybe they stay in business doing 'reality' TV
Scott Blue? He needed the money 💰! -A Dice Clay
this is very intresting thanks for your very important videos
Did anyone else thought they saw Chael Sonnen on the title pic ? 🤣
Why did you put this episode up again? Already put this one up a few weeks ago
i cant remember them uploading this one before
Planes fall apart every episode "That's pretty rare for a C46"
the best from 🇮🇩
Ice pilots episodes were recorded between 2009 and 2014.
Let's go
I wished they actually showed the Electria again
Why in January 2022 are you showing this old video again??????
"Farewell to Arnie Schreder" . I have no intention of watching the next episode :/
yeah, sadly Arnie and kellie are both gone. Arnie lived a long life, kellie was only 50. don't smoke people
antique roadshow
The owners son Mikey doesn't show much interest in aircraft or the company business. I get the impression he would be much happier as an asst. manager at a Pizza Hut.
you could not be more wrong. Mikey lives and breathes planes and Buffalo airways. look up 'plane savers' on youtube it's his personal channel . really worth watching. this show (Ice Pilots NWT) was filmed over a decade ago.
you are wrong… Micky orchestrated the resurrection a derelict dc3 war bird back to life. Mike is also the reason ice pilots was on tv , it was his idea.
@@Stop..carry-on this entire series is basically one Giant ad for their company. Mikey made a very smart business move jn that regard
you can come to that conclusion watching the first 30 seconds
I think you are projecting your jealousy.
Guys just a question. I know it may cost. But surely in time it will pay off. Convert the dc4s to turbo props they do it for the dc3 and extended the length. It's a shot in the dark. But for what you guys do I would say if some were to be converted and some later on may help you tremendously
I think it's about simplicity and rigidity. They hammered a chamber with a wooden stick. I'd like to see that done on a turboprop.
Also you need to train more staff, you know how the Electra can be pretty much serviced by one or two people.
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it".
The turning point will be running out of avgas imo.
Yeah there is that absolutely true that. But also there's alot of companies that want people with them . I was watching one of the series and I could remember that they weren't allowed to do the job due to that reason. I'm not saying get rid all together. But to have a few there like it would/could help
to put that in perspective, a DC3 (twin engine) costs around 300k, the Basler , which is a DC3 upgraded to turbo props costs 8 million. there is also no certification to convert a DC4 to turbines. luckily though, the Electra IS for all intents and purposes, a DC-4 with turbines and a couple of other upgrades. and you can buy one for cheap. because no one wants the, anymore.
If you find Mikeys channel he has a few really good videos on this
Problems with engine N°1 but filming engine N°2 on the ground...
Also with the runways in use...
It can take over a year to go through the maintenance records to ensure it is an airworthy airplane...
Inadequate/improper records and you can never get it certified again.
Didn't I see Micky on a SpongeBob episode?
Why did you re-upload this episode again?
These are the people if they would refuse Vaccine Would make waves
I sure wouldn't fly with them unless I was already high 😜 something blows up or falls off every time they leave the ground.
It would make the show very boring if the showed the hundreds of
Hours of footage between malfunctions
i live in Birmingham central UK so these guys were literally down the road from me,
Wow😮
There would be a mountain of paperwork after that engine change.
Geez! All the broken down planes gets irritating. How do you handle that stress? It bothers me sitting here. It has to affect their bottom line. $$$.
I hope the plane works out for them. Scares me! It’s another mess.
3:16 Does Britain use kilometers now or did the narrator say it because you know.. Europe
Mikey is going to the lower 48 to learn about keto
They did a good job of making Mikey look like a lazy loser...
If mikey is the future, it looks bad for the company !
@@emiel7792 mate, look up 'plane savers' on youtube. Mikeys personal channel, he's doing great things at Buffalo
Technically, his name should be bison bison Joe McBrian
Best show ever!
Wrong
@@razermotion Jason your wrong
Correct
@@Nate-nt6jt wrong again
A plane makes an emergency landing is the best show ever? That is the stupidest thing I have read this year.
GaaahhhhreeehhhSY -Bubbles
Does he ever work?
watching mikey. he sure has a good soul, but I am sure when Joe retires, Buffalo air line will end.
Mikey is an overweight kindergarten kid with good soul.
Pretty sure 90% is just how hes presented, its a TV show at the end of the day so they can depict people how they want, Joe is always grumpy but in the behind the scenes you hear he always has many happy moments
Mikey = Tommy Boy
I suppose everyone realizes this show was done 10 years ago or so. When I watched it years ago, I was thinking how crazy it was to document on film so many of their problems. Eventually this documented could be used by the Canada aviation regulation industry in relation to the airline's problem which in my opinion was why the reality show needed to stop the filming. Every airline has their problems but definitely do not record all the problems for the world to see
If it's an emergency landing at a remote airstrip then how does the camera crew get there first to film it ?
Reality TV or carefully scripted fake reality TV ?
They were here to film the take offs and landings of the plane for how many days they operate.there
@@renataavgeri1132 No, not at that airfield it was not a planned stop it was an emergency landing.
@@aaronhayes5199 they use chase plane ffs it's Discovery Channel!
It feels like a TV show
imagine that..
Maybe because it is ? Hmmm
Because it was on the Discovery channel about 13 years ago
So disappointed to see Mikey and the boys drinking Dos Equis beer. Why would any proud Canadian drink Mexican beer when you could drink Molson or Labatts?
Agreed, it's like a sickness!
This looks fake
People hating on Mikey don't realize that yeah, he is childish and slightly immature. But he is enjoying life to the fullest. Practically running buffalo now they are bringing in so much money. I can smell the jealousy from y'all.
Today
I am so glad the narrater said heathrow correctly.
Even if you had to shut the engine off you would have been able to glide back though so there would have been good so with one engine
I love this channel but I can't help thinking these remote communities are unsustainable.
All of them rely on heavy government subsidies to survive.
It must cost Tens of thousands of Dollars just for Transport if someone is injured or seriously ill.
Maybe it's time they consolidate.
This way they can afford to start building infrastructure.
maybe we should start treating our First Nations people like the Americans do, impoverish them and starve them out because the cost the same as an aircraft carrier to keep and treat as all other Canadian citizens. This show was never intended for American consumption because they just get all befuddled and confused when they watch it.
I could feel myself getting dumber watching this. Thanks.
Absolutely junk operation and acendent waiting to happen
I really wonder how they stay in buessness?
The old man knows his buessness, but the kid seems clueless unless just goofing for cameras.
Lots of added drama for the camera.
Intresting to see the mechanics of air frame and power plants.
If youve watched prior episodes the kid has a managerial position in the shipping department iirc, so no not clueless
