This video is, by far, the best example of how to do a buttonhole on ribbing. Simple, easy to follow examples and it was as if a lightbulb went on over my head/EUREKA!!!!
Thank you so very much!!
Absolutely love your video. Made my nightmare so simple. Easy to follow and well explained. Thank you so much!
You are the best teacher ever!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉
Every time I am stuck you are there pulling me out of the quagmire of uncertainty. Thanks.
Thank you Roxanne, this video was perfect in timing for the cardigan I am knitting now.
Finally!!! This is purrrfect for my project!! Sweater button band in k2p2 ribbing
😃 can’t tell how many videos I have watched over the past several days 🥴 You saved me!! Thanks again...❌❌⭕️⭕️
Excellent video. I try to check videos with the latest record dates because techniques improve so much as years go by.
Very clear and easy to follow. Thank you.
I had been avoiding patterns that have buttonholes. This is very clear.
Thank you Roxane for your technique videos! This one is again very helpful. I’m well on my way to become a perfect knitter 😊
Wonderful!
Thank goodness for this video, I’m new to knitting and following a pattern telling me to make a buttonhole but l couldn’t see that it said to increase after, now l know the yarn over will be the increase! 😊 Thank you 🙏🏻
Thank you! So helpful, doing a K2P2 rib on the barnstaple vest, and using the raku ceramic buttons I’ve been hoarding for 5 years or so. 😊 They are square, and chunkier than regular buttons, so definitely need a bigger buttonhole than one YO will provide.
Thank You for this easy to understand and use technique, short, easy, and it works.
Thanks Roxanne, super clear! I always learn something new with you and my projects are improving a lot!!
Wonderful!
Great instructions. Have spent ages getting button holes right. This video did the trick. Thank you : )
A super clear and helpful video! This is only my third project and I'm trying to add a buttonhole that's not in the pattern, I think I should actually be able to do it now. Thanks!
Thank you, a really clear tutorial that has helped me finish the button holes on my latest knitting project.
Glad it helped!
Best explained video ever !!
Always great clear instructions
Thank you Roxanne!!
Thank you so much for the clear demonstration. I have just had to unpick my button hole band after getting into difficulty with the buttonholes. I am sure that I will now be able to do it right with your instructions in front of me. My pattern just said k2tog,yo which was pretty useless for a novice on buttonholes!
Wow! I should have watched this first! Thank you!!!
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I found it so helpful.
You're very welcome!
Thank you. Your videos are very helpful.

Helpful, thank you.
Thank You Very Much 💖
Really helpful thanks
thank you, good instructions.
Thank I'm making a waistcoat but as my wool was on offer I got a lot last year and I've decided I want sleeves added as and when I need them so I'll add the button holes on the sleeves and the buttons on the drop shoulder waist coat I used a pattern for the number of sticthes but have done my own pattern
This is awesome!! Thanks!😊❤
You are so welcome!
Thankyou 🥰🥰
Thanks you !!
THANK YOU👍👍🌷🙏
Great video Roxanne! I haven’t made many button holes so this is very helpful for me! Thank you!
You are so welcome!
🤗🤗
Are you familiar with June Hammond Hiatt’s variation on the eyelet buttonhole? In her book (Principles of Knitting), she calls it the Narrow Eyelet Buttonhole. It’s a bit fussier to make but looks much better and is also more durable. This is also the small buttonhole that Catherine Lowe teaches in her classes.
Thanks
You're welcome! :-)
Thank you, the stupid pattern I had just wanted me to stretch the rib to make the button holes which was... NAH just messy and innefective so I used this technique with sucess instead.
Thank you so much. I have made button holes, but they always looked so messy or didn't line up with the other side of the sweater and now I know why! I didn't know the YO's were to replace the purl stitches. Question for you. What are the knitting needles you were using in this video? They are beautiful!
Glad I could help! I typically mention in the video description things like yarn and needles used. Let me know if you don't see them listed.
Is this method in 1 into1for small button hole or big one....
I thought I had this straight in my head after watching your video, but now I’m not sure again because I’m working a K1P1 rib band but for the button hole the pattern wants me to cast off 2 stitches. I’m so confused which technique to use!
There are lots of ways to make buttonholes. Your pattern is calling for a method that is different from the YO method.
Thank you, I am using this to make my Harry Styles cardign
