Right on! I enjoy your channel (even though I can't get the hang of jigging) we were out trying for salmon, tried 2 days last week at Garcia's Bend (Thurs-Fri) goose eggs saw 2 landed we tried everything Trons, jigging, and wrapped brads with sardines and crawdads as well with fresh tuna. Any ideas?
Hey Nick, just wanted to ask in your opinion when is the best time to hit the sac river for salmon...I stay in the Sacramento area but fish up and down...also I'm a first time salmon Fisher and I plan on bank casting and trying a little on the kayak...I've watched all of your videos on salmon just would like a little insight on time and place....love your videos keep it up bro
Those stripers are hungry out there.. Caught one on a jig&craw trailer and a 6lb'er on a paddletail swimbait near pixley slough last weekend... The jig fish was a little suprise lol
I didn't even know stripers took salmon roe. My buddies and I have been trying to catch this "fall striper run" but 3 trips in so far, and no keeper stripers; but we do manage to catch salmon. Just wondering, do those laser minnow or any other similar brands work from shore? I'm not fortunate enough to fish from a boat and usually fish from shore (throwing flying c's) for salmon.
Man This is great Nick! I only got one question. How would your fans/fellow fisherman sign up to fish with you? I think you seem like a awesome fishing partner.
The tips on the colors added to the lures along with many other interesting tips was also great and thanks for another very informative video!!! BTW, what are the regulations for a treble hook vs a single hook for jigging? I thought anything above one ounce has to be single hook for salmon?
I am assuming that you're a guide? Even if you are not, read the Regs. 2.10. Hook and Weight Restrictions. (a) Definition of Gap: For the purposes of this section, “gap” means the distance measured from the point of a hook to the shank. (b) Maximum Gaps and Gear Rigging for Rivers and Streams unless otherwise provided (does not apply to lakes and reservoirs, the Sacramento San Joaquin Delta (see Section 1.71 for definition of the Delta), and the Colorado River). 1. No person shall use any single hook with a gap greater than 1 inch or any multiple hook with a gap greater than 3/4 inch. 3. It is unlawful to use any multiple hook or more than one single hook on non-buoyant lures exceeding one ounce.
Great info thanks for dropping all the knowledge on me one thing When you where on the dock at wimps you said the great thing about fishing with roe is that you can catch a bonous salmon I believe you where refunding to the upper section eggs myth actually you can catch salmon on eggs all through the delta I have caught some nice salmon on bobber and eggs south of Wimpys
can't believe you can catch running salmon. our Chinook and coho don't eat when running up the river. we have to catch them while staging. from Michigan
I went fishing on the shore using spinners on Veterans Day and caught a nice 13 pounder and also lost another one about the same size and my dad caught a nice 18 pounder
Most informational fishing channel there is. Great stuff man
Thanks Adam!
Thanks for the reply! Big fan
Awesome video and perfect timing for me. Going out this weekend in my canoe!
Any luck?
Great info, I always learn something from the Informative Fisherman.
Can you please tell me where you were fishing in the sac? Two weeks ago we went to Garcia Bend, caught a 12 pounder trolling but had no luck jigging.

FYI-- red is not visible, to any creature, deeper than 10' of water-- not 10' away. The wavelength gets absorbed and the color becomes grey.
Nick ad me to all your contest that have to do with bass fishing I DONt face book thanks player
If I knew you that you were out I would have kept my eyes open but instead saw your truck when I pulled out on low tide.
