I thoroughly enjoy travel and hotels, I aim to provide relevant and current information so you can stay in more suites and cross more lobbies. I use affiliate links when linking in my description, if you click on them I may receive a commission. This gets me to the next hotel a bit quicker, thank you!
This was a fun trip, I really enjoy flying the 787 Dreamliner. I will be reviewing the economy class cabin coming back from SFO so stick around for that one.
just curious, not sure if you paid attention, but can you recall where your flight met the coast line? I know ALL arrivals into SFO come in over the San Mateo Bridge (about the time captain/FO calls 'gear down') Would the be Half Moon Bay? Santa Cruz?
@@Ken_Weber_organist I was definitely not paying attention at this point in the flight. I have some video during that time that didn't make the final cut. If I can make out any of the landmarks, it was dark, I will see if I can cross reference.
@@suitesandlobbies o yeah sir, forgot to mention the obvious - gotta be a day flight, no good on HA-4, the 'red-eye' HNL to LAX flight. Btw only works on departing HNL, NOT arriving because arrivals from west coast usually fly over Ko'olaus right about even with Waimanalo. I know because I can see aircraft headed for HNL when I play Olomana Golf Course.
Mahalo. Always interesting and informative. 🤙🏼
Thank you for sharing a beautiful aircraft!!😊
Another wonderful video. Thank you
Thank you!
awesome review..
It’s the Daniel K Inouye International Airport in Honolulu.
my turn, August 20, HNL to LAX first class seat
9A
Nice! Have a great trip 👍
Booked on the 787 from PHX to HNL in August. Looking forward to experiencing the new Leihōkū class suites.
Nice!
I hope they launch this on their BOS/HNL service one day!
I know LAX and PHX ? is in May, intention is long haul so Boston route has a good chance.
That holder in the lavatory are for lotions etc that HAL installs on international flights
I knew someone would know. Thanks for sharing your knowledge! 🤙🏼🤙🏼
If you have a window seat on the STARBOARD side of the aircraft, at 5 minutes after in the air, look straight down - you will see the Kalaupapa lepper settlement and St Philomena Church where Saint Damien did his work on island of Molokai.
Interesting! Thanks for sharing, I will make a point of looking on one of my next flights.
@@suitesandlobbies book on window seat on RIGHT side of aircraft. Also, if you book flight 2 (HNL to LAX), if you have window seat on PORT side, about 5 minutes after crossing coast line on descent (usually approaches coastline somewhere between Wilshire Blvd and Santa Monica Fwy (I-10)), you will see DODGER STADIUM, and can easily make it out if Dodgers have a evening home game.
@@Ken_Weber_organist that would be awesome! capturing the lights in the stadium would be an epic shot.
@@suitesandlobbies indeed
for most HNL to LAX flights, Captain normally initiates descent over the Channel Islands (Annacapa or San Nicolas Island), about even with Santa Barbara, then crosses coastline (and passes LAX) and starts the U-turn somewhere near the East LA Interchange (where Santa Ana, Santa Monica, Golden State, Hollywood, and Pomona Freeways meet). They typicall complete that U-turn somwhere over the 605 in Norwalk, then final approach parallel with the 105 Fwy, pilots usually drop the gear somewhere between the Long Beach (I-710) and Harbor (I-110) freeways. By the time they cross over the 405, usually reach 'minimums' i.e. decision time to continue or go-around.
I think Alaska will continue to use the 787's for Domestic and International travel to and from Hawaii branded through Hawaiian Airlines. But, maybe Alaska might use some of those 787's and brand them Alaska and use them for some of Alaskas longer routes, I don't know. What do you think?
Also, great video! Enjoyed the review of the new plane, hoping to fly on it soon!
I think what you say makes total sense. Keep the branding on the existing planes and use the others on the routes that will make the most $$ and deliver the best value. Alaska seems to know how to run an airline based on their numbers. Another thought is that Alaska will have some international routes open up if the buyout goes through. Is SEA/LAX/SAN to Haneda/Sydney/etc a better choice/$ for this aircraft? We shall see. @teddy7790
Still waiting to see if a flight is available for 2025 to Boston on the 787,so far nothing available up to end of March 2025.(hopefully they will have it before end of 2025,since it is the longest flight inside of the United states and only available on Hawaiian airline .(honolulu to boston) if not maybe 2026. Will be flying this route twice a year, every year. )
That would be a great flight for this aircraft and I believe it will be used for this route. May will have LAX and Phoenix, after that not sure. The second 787 is on the ground in Honolulu but not flying for a bit yet. Will be interesting to watch.
Too many first class seats. This means sharing the lavatory with many more people? I always get shitty food flying first class.
How much is the real question for the suite??
