- Today I wanted to share my small (but growing!) scale figure collection. I apologize for the awkward unboxing sequences, hopefully they weren't too painful to watch 😅

For those who may be curious about what my channel name means, it's a play on the magical energy technology system used in on of my favorite series: The Legend of Heroes/Trails/Kiseki games. Pronounced: or·bal·ol·o·gy :)

If figurines did not creep me out (human like dolls in general 😱), I'd be collecting them too. Figurines are getting to such a premium point that you could make true shows and movies with them.
I used to not really like dolls very much (especially not growing up) so I was a bit surprised at this recent development lol. I think after seeing a lot of these figures in-person & watching various YTers unbox them was what pushed me down this rabbit hole 😅
The Ryza figure looks awesome. The belts and straps and details look so good

Welp, just pulled the trigger and bought my first scale figure ^^ The Lyn 1/7 is just tooo good :D
As a Kotobukiya fangirl myself, I've noticed that many of their 1/8 scales are usually closer to 1/7.
Altina is on my list to pick up, but I was on the fence with Rean. Then they announced Crow recently and I realized I'm gonna need to pick Rean up to go with Altina and Crow, lol. Very excited for Crow's figure though because I never thought he would get a figure and he is undoubtedly my favorite from the Cold Steel series.

Oh great to know about the Kotobukiya figures in particular! I'm so excited about Crow's upcoming figure as well. Last February's announcement was such a pleasant surprise and I really hope more figures are to come for the Trails series! There are so many great characters and I would basically buy anything and everything if they decide to expand this line even more. My wallet would not be so happy but having a little army of Trails figures would be so satisfying 😂
imwatching this thinking, damn, i lovethat hardwood table, and the rivets on top...also, i need those Trails figures! That series never gets enough love.
I'm excited to own the entire Kotobukiya lineup of the Trails figures that are planned - they're going to look great together :)
Super jelly for that Rean Shwarzer figure! He's so cool, in every regard!
I'm sort of sad I didn't get the bonus white hair piece that the Kotobukiya store had as a preorder bonus but his regular design turned out great regardless.
I don't know a lot about figure collecting, but wow - this was super interesting to watch!😃💕 Your figures are soooo cute😭❤️ They probably look awesome on your shelves! (I have a few nendoroids, so "I'm something of a figure collector myself"😂👌🏻)
Aww thanks! I think I may have entered the point of no return in this expensive hobby, but no regrets so far 😂😅 And nendoroids are super cute! I've been considering a few myself but have been trying to resist so not to open myself up for another hobby rabbit hole 😂

I'd love to start collecting figures but I'm hesitant to open those flood gates. Strategy guides are more my thing. They typically have cool art and serve a useful purpose. That Lyn fig is really tempting though.
Figure collecting is definitely a slippery slope haha. Strategy guides are pretty cool though! You're right in that they have a cool mix of art and usefulness that makes them special.
Are there particular systems you prefer to pick guides up for or do you just try to get them for your favorite games across platforms?
@@orbalology I have more guides for Nintendo games but I try to get them across the board for my favorite games. You should do a guide collection video if you have any.
I actually don't have any guides but I do have some enamel pins that I may share once I figure out displaying them. I also really love art books but I have a very modest collection. Would love to add more to it someday but heavy books are a pain when moving so I've been holding off a bit on those at the moment.
Once you get 1 figure you say "Well why not more"
And then you sold a kidney to buy your favorite character from that one Gameboy game 20 years ago.

Cool collection! I collect also! I've found that if you want to open them to display they are hard to keep clean! Lol! So, if possible, but 2 of them! 1 for displaying & 1 for your collections!
Oh man! Two boxes can take up so much room lol. But that's certainly one way to go about it. I've been trying to dust the display figures ~weekly and so far it's been ok. I may need to eventually invest in those glass display cabinets for the long term though. 😅
I definitely enjoy collecting figures/amiibos/plushies. I have a bunch of each lol. A pretty good amount of amiibos, Pokemon and Nintendo character plushies, Street Fighter statues, and similar statues of other characters too. Been doing this for a few years. These look pretty great too! Also one other small thing, don't worry about the first unboxing lol, I understand the pain. Some boxes for figures can be annoying to unbox.
I have some Pokemon plushies too! I really love the Pokemon Center's quality in particular. Merch outside of the games themselves are a really fun way to celebrate video games & make for really nice additions to the shelves :)

Ah nice! I've been eyeing a few Zelda/Link figures myself but I'm trying to be good and not get too sucked in to this side hobby lol. But I'm really hoping the Sophie figure by Koei Tecmo turns out well! I really love her character design in the sequel game.

I recently discovered your channel just the other night so I'll likely be leaving a few comments here and there on older videos. But a good trick with boxed items is to put the blunt edge of a butter knife up against the crease and pry up softly on the tab for both corners. You can also use the knife to pull the main tab off the smaller tabs if they are caught. I don't know how you unboxed so many scales on camera. For me just opening a single one for me is nerve racking and on camera of all things, nope.

I've only added a few premium Kotobukiya figures. Poison from Final Fight, Kamala Khan as Ms. Marvel, and General Grievous. Quite a cross section of fandoms. Love your figures, hope you enjoy them!
I'm really happy with them! I was getting a bit nitpicky on a few of the details especially on Rean's figure. But overall I'm glad to have picked them up.
And you definitely have a nice selection from all sorts of fandoms! Do you display them altogether or are they stored on different shelves/locations? I'm currently debating where to temporarily set up my figures. Now that they're out of the box I have to worry about things like dust 😂
@@orbalology i couldn't bring myself to unbox Grievous. Poison is displayed with some of my more adult figures(One piece beach stuff and killer instinct lol) and Kamala is right on my gaming desk(She is literally the most wholesome role model for any boy or girl of any race or creed). Right next to a barnacled crab man from Schleich lol Good luck dusting those more intricate ones. Only thing i despise about them.
Ohh I've been eyeing some One Piece figures myself. There are just so many it's hard to decide 😅 That sounds like a nice set up, and Kamala does look super precious & a good figure for that extra motivation while gaming :)
How in the world am I just seeing this video! I love it! Where to start? I just recently got Rean and Altina and I absolutely love them. I just started the Cold Steel Series and fell head over heels for the Trails series. Kotobukiya is probably my favorite anime figure company as I feel their prices are quite nice... though Rean was an exception, he was a pricy figure! I'm still on the fence regarding the Fire Emblem figures; I'm still trying to decide of the quality matches the high price tag. As for Atelier Ryza, I'm currently considering picking up Lila and Plachta as I think they are stunning figures. I'll get Ryza at some point as there's no shortage of her character. I do have my eye on the upcoming 1/6 Ryza by Max Factory. With it being a larger scale she'll be my centerpiece figure of my Atelier collection if I so decide to jump down that rabbit hole. I do think I will as I'm VERY interested in the Ryza series. The current game sale is making it quite tempting.
Oh glad to hear you love Rean & Altina! I'm super excited for Crow, Rixia & Renne's upcoming releases. Still on the fence about the Ques Q 1/7 Trails scales... good thing they seem to be a slow manufacturer so I'll have more time to decide on Altina and Alisa lol.
As far as FE figures go, I've been super satisfied so far with Lyn & Ike, and thinking of picking up Marth eventually especially with the yen being down right now. Not sure about the newly announced ones though - they're so pricey 😅
Also I feel like you can't go wrong with Atelier figures! There are a lot to choose from but overall seem really nice. I just adore the Ryza I picked up. And the Atelier games are fun - I recommend giving them a go :)
I'm not really into collecting figures, I don't know much either but i felt this pain 4:26
I think after collecting games, my next step would be collecting mangas, after i grow my games enough, I will start with it. But I can definitely appreciate the beauty behind those figures.
Thanks for you recommendation in Game stores, I bought 3 games in VGP, one of them being 13 sentinels, it was incredibly cheap! Like for real I was about to buy it for 80 usd in Amazon MX, and i found it for 40 Cad. Also bought a lot of other games, this month my economy is about to kill me ^_^. Also in PNP they have a lot of SMT and etrian oddisey games, cheaper, I wanted to buy for my 3ds collection, but they're twice expensive here in MX, I might get them, later, hopefully they don't run out of them.
I think you made a video about stores, I'll watch it later on, I've been busy with work and other courses.

Manga is fun to collect! I haven't dived into that yet though I'm tempted to start for a few series. But they just take up so much space lol. And I'm glad that you found some good deals on those Canadian sites with the currency conversion! Especially 13 Sentinels, that game is pretty awesome :)
I just recently got the miHoYo Genshin Impact Ningguang 1/7 Scale Figure
It's by far my best looking figure I own and probably the best pre-order I ever spent the money for. It doubled in price since then. pheww dodged a bullet.
That figure looks so stunning from the unboxings I've seen!

I love the dynamic poses of these figures. Especially the Trails figures. I hope they made some for the other characters.
Same! They've announced Crow & Rixia figures last February and I cannot wait to see their what their prototypes look like. But I would love for them to do a lot more! Especially an Estelle scale in particular, she's my favorite.

I was JUST looking at the Altina figure on eBay today... really wish I'd gotten that (and Rean!) when they were available.
Who am I kidding, I'm probably gonna get them both on eBay... 😅
Oh I highly recommend you check out Amazon Japan for both of these! I think they should be cheaper than ebay (and you won't have to worry about bootlegs). I found their shipping to be super reasonable compared to a lot of other figure stores too.

To be fair I'm not really adept at these types of things and I was super worried about breaking something off 😅 She's really gorgeous though! I highly recommend her.
I love the trails series as well even though I never got to play all of them the trails and ys series lived in my vita the psp was a much better system but vita had some extremely good titles I really really love the ys series
I've been getting more into the Ys series, I've only played the more recent titles but I've been looking into trying out some of the earlier ones as well. Falcom makes really solid JRPGs.
