Good people I was there and it was epic. I’m 72 now and the pride I have in these amazing young artists gives me joy knowing we’re leaving it all in good hands. ❤❤

Saw Eric Gales a few days ago opening for Buddy Guy (and in Buddy's closing set, In Macon, Ga no less). The guy should get a lot more credit than he has, amazing player.
But, I mean dang, those 3, together, good luck hearing for the next few days, but well worth it.

Sometimes a performance hits me and I have a visceral reaction, (laugh, cry, shout, gossebumps, etc)
sounds crazy as hell but I have goosebumps and tears running down, i've been watching these fests since 03 and the music and comradery just made me react. #nohomo

@@user-vg3yc6gk5f That's honestly probably a really common problem with festivals. I'd say it's really hard to get all these rigs dialed in to jam with other players who may need more or less volume. I've also thought the audio was bad from all the jams I heard from this and wondered if it was just the sources that recorded them. Sucks to hear it didn't sound that great in the room either. I saw Clapton a couple of years ago and he sounded absolutely incredible and Marcus King came out for the encore and plugged into an old Silver Race Twin and you could tell that it wasn't really his rig but it still was a cool moment though.
I think they also just had too many mixes to juggle, since the livestream, venue, and artist play-through are all separate. I heard a bit of the actual audio from the live stream and it sounded much better. Seems like they were prioritizing that which is a bummer. Like, all the issues H.E.R. had during her set weren’t there on the stream.

INCREDIBLE save from Kingfish after some technical difficulties hitting that solo HARD at 3:33 without missing a beat..... Literally !!!.....Kilt it !!
I love all the people shit talking the person behind the board. First it’s a camera phone. Next from the angle, the person recording is stage left house right probably at least 30% in front of the throw coming out of the FOH array on that side. Most importantly,if you wanna hear the best sound coming from FoH, you need to be inline with the board preferably as near as you can get. There’s a reason I enjoy running a board with tablet access. Cause I’m gonna listen house right, center, and left. At least during sound check., At the end of the day though, when the lights dim, and the show starts I’m probably center house, I’m only human. I only have two ears, and I’m gonna make the mix sound the best I can by overlapping those big ole speaker arrays to just blend at the edge of their throws. That’s what I can do to get the best sound for the whole venue. While I’m mixing from one spot. Live sound is as much art as science. Also mixing for 300,’ 1000,‘and 10000,people are different skill sets.

I play left-handed myself. I hated playing a guitar upside down. Finally was able to find one that didn't have a pickguard. It was a few years before I found one. Cheapy, but it was all mine.
