I'm genuinely grateful for you and this community. Spiders used to make me a little uncomfortable, so I started to force myself to watch your content and now I can't get over how heckin cute they are! 🕷♥️
I've heard so much conflicting information on Avics... I've heard everything from they need to be bone dry to they're communal. It's very hard for beginners to get the real info they need to make their T's thrive
I am SO thankful for this video. I recently had my first ever tarantula, an Avicularia avicularia, pass away after her first molt under my care. She was still a smaller juvenile, but it tore me up! I am still unsure what happened, but hopefully I'll be able to build up more information and eventually keep another successfully❤
I had a tough time w this tarantula. And I’ve had a single rose hair for ~20 years now. I personally wouldn’t recommend it as a first, but I’m sure there are many healthy ones being raised in captivity.
Great information from all involved! I’m newer to the hobby and held off on the Avicularia avicularia because of conflicting information I’ve found during research... it’s not fair to the tarantula or myself if my husbandry is subpar. But this information clears up the misinformation I’ve heard, so I have no excuse not to. Many thanks! Happy keeping! ❤️🕷
I live in Utah and a bunch of people in a tarantula group for my area have their A. avicularias die really regularly, perhaps because we are so dry here, but also the pet stores have them as a beginner tarantula with terrible store guides. It still kind of shocks me when we have so much availability of information via the internet and people still use pet store employees/guides as their ONLY source of information.
I picked one of these up in a pet store that had it mislabeled. I'm new to avic but this one is prolly the most docile gentle t in my entire collection
all depends where you live, i'm in canada so it's very dry especially during the winter, exotics from malaysia so he doesn't need to add any moisture it's already humid as heck
Inexpensive is completely right. I bought mine for $25 at the local pet store and his enclosure(front opening glass) was only $25 on sale. Substrate was about $6 and I used sticks, logs, and dry leaves I found outside for her enclosure.(I boiled everything and then froze it once it was dry). I did a couple months of research before deciding to get one, but the low price is concerning because of how many people who could get one on a whim without knowing anything about them.
Love this video! I found a lot of new people. I just have to say the tarantula collective videos always have amazing shots and a great vibe! I’ve been thinking about getting a pink toe and I think I am convinced I need one lol.
I think my avic is broke 😂 mine never hides, it’s always just out chilling in it’s web hammock ❤️ I’m so glad cuz I just love to watch him doing his thing, they’re such a beautiful species!
The pink toe tarantulas are so beautiful. I haven't got one, but it will be a future purchase. I'm always checking up on my slings and their different needs. My Singapore blue I got from a 2cm sling, and now a 4 inch sling/ juvenile now. ( I've heard was another difficult tarantula to raise from a sling)
Great video. Hilarious that only one person mentioned the poop cannon. Too bad they can't be trained to evacuate on command, I'd need to carry a bunch of them with me (in case of awkward social situations). My favorite UA-cam channel.
What a cool collab!!! Almost everyone I love that keeps T's and true Spiders in one video. I haven't started keeping quite yet, I'm trying to be responsible and be sure I can give an animal the best life possible in captivity. I'm loving the pink toe with the longer hair. I've been really researching, so I was super pumped to see this video. Thanx Cat, your truly amazing. Keep shining ❤️❤️
I LOVE your shirt! Where did you get it? Very cool collaboration video, too! Nice to see a lot of my fave T-tubers in one place talking about a cool species
I'm going to be getting my first T in a couple of months and this whole time I've been researching and set on Brachypelma Hamorii but after seeing this I think I might make the Avicularia Avicularia my first one. Thank you so much to all creators for the information you've given us, I will definitely be doing more research on this species and hopefully in awhile be bringing one home 🙏stay safe everyone
That was extremely helpful!!! Thanks to you, TK, I got over my fear of spiders!! I've been binging your videos for a few months now. I LOVE your approach, content and appreciation! My first tarantula is one of these beauties! I just got "her" (still a sling, so can't sex it yet lol) yesterday in fact! I'm so excited! Thank you so very much! 🤗🕷🖤
This was interesting just seeing the different styles if all the different tarantula UA-camrs. I'm trying to break into having a tarantula channel so it's nice to see all the different styles all in one vid. Beautiful spoods!
That was awesome T Kat!! All my favorites and some new ones to check into... Im so proud of your ever entertaining content lately I find myself wanting more shows & then you share all the more ideas & creations with us. Keep up the good attitude & positivity as I think it is the best example of how to show your passion for this hobby. Its also real nice to see at least one girl keeper. There should be more women like you! Oh you guys have a beautiful daughter too! Do this again for us please?! Bye T Kat
I just got my avicularia avicularia and she’s about 3 inches this video was soooo informative you Richard and exotic lairs are my favorite I definitely need to put her water dish up high! Great stuff
Hi Kat you are the best and the greatest I love your new tattoo that you got the other day keep up the great work I love all your amazing tarantulas / animals 👍💯💯💯💪👍
avicularia juruensis m2 just over an inch in a tall plastic cup with a piece of cork bark I glued a few fake leaves to a small water dish I always keep topped up and plenty of vents
Great video! Recently bought my first a.avic from an independent store, but it came to me with DKS symptoms and died two days later... It was a real bummer, but I want another for my collection so bad!
my girl Muffet is an avicularia avicularia! I’ve had her for 2 years now, and I actually bought her as a juvenile. I’ve loved watching her grow, and she’s wonderfully sassy. she DOES tend to teleport though.
Just FYI, I’ve kept them for years, room temps between 70-83 in my house, tall glass enclosure with screen top, front opening doors, inch of coco substrate, cereal bowl size water bowl with fake vines going into it, crixs and or mealworms about once every two weeks………………..all live over 7or more years easy. I used to keep them more humid in large tubs, small water dish, fed more, less ventilation, always had problems.
I added one to my collection 1st one was a Mexican curleyhair then my Versacolor pinktoe they now call Carabina Versacolor pinktoe I plan on getting 2 down line right now I have a Mexican RedKnee female full grown I got her in 2001 as a baby juvie girl and now full grown still have her her leg span is 61/2 “leg span
She's hands down without a doubt my most happy and content Tarantula. She doesn't want to really be handled but will accept a pet on the rump, and will sometimes come over and touch my finger when I'm doing routine maintenance don't know why ! All my other individuals stay clear wanting no contact with me at all lol 🤣
I do not have any Avics yet, but I get my care tips from you, Petko, Exotics Layer and Tom M, as well as from Amanda and MArtin from Tarantulas Canada (you should check out their site). I feel like I can be confident in the info I get from all of you.
Avic avic is the only sling I've gotten so far that hasn't made it. I really liked them, I had them around a month and they had one molt with me so I thought they seemed to be doing well (I even realized they were missing a pedipalp after I got them home and they had started to grow it back), but I found them dead on the ground unexpectedly :( I think maybe I didn't have enough ventilation. I want to try again with a better setup.
Thanks for this collaboration video! I've been wondering about switching out my Avic from crickets to a mealworm, or super worm, or even a silkworm diet, but have never seen anyone feed theirs anything but crickets (a few times roaches too) - but there it was in your last segment! Do you always use some type of worm as food? Thanks again!
I'm so glad you did this video! I've been so confused by some of the stuff online. So far, most of what I've been doing for my Stella is on target with what was gone over in this video. Maybe you could do another one about the aphonopelma seemanni. 😎😁🕷🕸
I love Pink Toed T's that was my first ever T have had 2 Rose haird since would def like to get another Ppnk toed T again one day...great video thanks for uploading it.
This video made me sad - I had an A. avicularia about 35 years ago, and I didn't know how to keep him; I made a desert habitat, because no one told me what he was, or where he came from. He died very soon thereafter. RIP Udo.
This was a lot of fun and very interesting. Thanks for asking me to be a part of your video! Great job everyone.
Loved your clips Richard, some fantastic shots
Your editing is 👌✨
it's collaboration time! thanks for having me🎉🙌
It was so cool to see you were in my country!
Your channel is my all time favorite tarantula channel
Thanks for having me Kat! It was a pleasure joining you and our fellow creator friends to chat about some of our favourite pet spiders!
Princess Fifi's web is crazy. I wonder when mine will web!? It's been awhile.
I'm genuinely grateful for you and this community. Spiders used to make me a little uncomfortable, so I started to force myself to watch your content and now I can't get over how heckin cute they are! 🕷♥️
Same here!!!! Hugs from Italy 💚🤍❤️
Lol I just noticed the hand in your thumbnail?? So funny! Exotics lair!
I just noticed that 😂
Awesome collaboration kat, was so happy to take part. Hope everyone watching enjoys this fantastic video!!!
I've heard so much conflicting information on Avics... I've heard everything from they need to be bone dry to they're communal. It's very hard for beginners to get the real info they need to make their T's thrive
I love how Richard is mostly here for the beautiful footage 😂 His specialty~
😆
And then smash cut to Exotics Lair filming on his iPhone 🤣
Your outfit in today’s video is everything ✨
Was indeed adorable
BirdspidersCH knows his stuff, and the tarantula collective guy seems like he really enjoys the hobby.
Shoots poo I need like 6
😆
The 💩 shooting could come in handy if you could find a way to concealed carry......
Pocket spider! Pew pew!
I can't believe petko wasn't there! Passive aggressive ? 😂 (joking!)
Ok I know I don’t have any tarantulas but this was so interesting
Hi Jessica! Love your channel!
@@azuradawn5683 awww thank you!! Hi!
Love that it's everybody's face in the thumbnail except for Exotics Lair's hand👋🤣🤣

This same thing happened to me, my avicularia passed after the first molt. I'm hoping for better luck the next time around ❤
I had a tough time w this tarantula. And I’ve had a single rose hair for ~20 years now. I personally wouldn’t recommend it as a first, but I’m sure there are many healthy ones being raised in captivity.
Mine is a picky eater 🙄 My other arboreal will go looking for their food but the Avic wants crickets and for them to walk into it's fangs

This species naming is so demented. WOW!

You're in Utah? So am I, i definitely want to know which stores I know to not shop at.
Eyyy Utah gang
Moss?
I love your shirt the moths are so cool and so are the the flowers and the purple and I’ve actually been thinking of getting a this type of a spider
I picked one of these up in a pet store that had it mislabeled. I'm new to avic but this one is prolly the most docile gentle t in my entire collection

As a new to T.s i looked up the species i liked and watched a bunch of different keepers and just tool something from all of them
Thank you for reminding me that I absolutely need to grab a couple Avicularia on my next spider order.
I'm amazed how you remember all the names of the tarantulas, I struggle to remember my friends names lol. Awesome vid kat, big love from the UK
Labeling enclosures help lol

Still here still scared of spiders so why do I want one !!
Random comment-I love following the changes in your hair color. I change mine constantly as well. (The Ts are awesome too.)
yes
good clips
Great video! I love this idea. You should do this with other species too. I just ordered an Avicularia avicularia (Guyana.) I can't wait to get her!
You guys are all amazing!!! I am now open to receiving free gifts and tshirts. 😁
Really enjoyed watching this video.😊😊
I guess now I really want to get a tarantula even if i'm actually scared of spiders lol
Do iy avicularia avicularia are the best for calmbess just kbow they will jump abd run for no reason at all so dont freak out....
Same lhh. The mean ones interest me the most too. Idk why normal spiders bother me so much.
Great video! Recently bought my first a.avic from an independent store, but it came to me with DKS symptoms and died two days later... It was a real bummer, but I want another for my collection so bad!

Awesome collaboration, I hope you do more species specific colabs like this with other tarantulatubers it was very entertaining.
Like X1000. This was awesome.
Richards videos are always so good lol
Thanks 😃
Thanks for including the superworm feeding at the end, was curious if they'd eat terrestrial insects like that
You’re outfit is SO cute
Great video good info. Just got my 1st avicularia a juvenile also my 1st arboreal species that's not a sling. Thanks to everyone in the video.
I got an Avicularia Sling yesterday as my first :D

Reptiliatus had a mosquito in the first enclosure at 4:20 and i'ma need the tarantula to do something about that lol
Awesome video! I SO NEEDED to see this! I have a juvie pinktoe and I have read so many conflicting care sheets it's crazy. Thanks for posting.
