I really do miss those posters. Imagine seeing ones for Steve or Banjo or Dragon Quest. A Toriyama drawn Mario or Link would be incredible.
I followed every single update every single day leading up to the launch of smash 4 and i havent once noticed these posters
The websites for the Smash games are truly one of the best experiences to have prior to the game's launch, I would spend dozens of hours scraping through every last bit of information knowing how much content the next Smash games really had. The posters that came with the newcomers made it so much better, and I even had some of them as phone wallpapers when they came out! It's so interesting to see gaming worlds converge not only through the game itself but from OFFICIAL art made by the guys who created the characters we all know and love.
Guess I’m gonna go draw a poster for Steve/Alex in Smash now. Brb.

Yes I miss those. Only Inkling and Min Min had those. They where so much fun to look at. Now we only have the mural which is nice, but why can’t we have both?

Incineroar's poster could have him posing with his arm up next to Professor Kukui in the Battle Royal mode in Pokemon Sun/Moon/Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon. In the background we could have Villager, Bowser Jr and King K. Rool defeated in the background with their boxing gloves shown. This will relate to the ending scene of Incineroar's trailer for Ultimate

@@toxiquid Thanks. I'm really happy you liked it. Incineroar is my favourite pokemon and I wanted it's poster to be something that represented him well. A game mode found in the region it's based on, it's a wrestler, professor kukui/the Masked Royal's ace pokemon is Incineroar and the other 3 characters I mentioned all had boxing glove attacks; plus these 3 characters were shown at the end of Incineroar's (and Ken's) trailer
I kinda want to defend the “Everyone is Here” poster a little bit.
I kinda get what your talking about with individualized posters they’re really cool, and there weren’t that many in Ultimate in favor of the “Everyone is Here” banner but you know what I really don’t think it’s a terrible replacement. Sure it might “homogenize” the newcomers in crowd. It’s okay if you think it’s a lame replacement for the posters. But I don’t know I think it’s satisfying to see a new face put in to part of the whole Smash family.
Plus it isn’t like there’s no personality to it all. There are some fun bits of character interaction in it like Dr Mario checking Mr Game and Watch’s “heart” with a stethoscope, Pirahna Plant growing his own Pikmin in a pot, Pokémon all going after Wario and Dedede, Chrom talking to Robin who’s sitting reading his spell book , etc. Yeah sure we’re not getting too many of the spotlighted individualized posters for the newcomers, but I love the sense of unity it has, this is the Smash game where every character from the past four games are all here with no cuts (and will probably be the last one to do this in a long while) so I think it works here. But yeah it would be cool to see more personal DLC poster with the art styles of their games.
But hey, that’s my opinion , you gave yours so I gave mine.
thats completely valid! i think i mightve been a tad bit harsh on the EiH poster, and i truly do like it for the record. the personality is absolutely there as you said, and its fun to look at. What i was getting at is that instead of having all the newcomers get their own individual posters and such, they were relegated to being placed amongst the pack. The art is amazing all together, but when you think about how the only new artwork for a character outside of the fighter render is that, it comes off as underwhelming in my eyes.

Badges that gave critical stat boosts and/or didn't dock much of one stat, at the cost of weakening, diminishing, or nullifying mobility or a technical ability (e.g. walk/run speed, jump height, perfect shielding, ledge grabbing, etc.), are not at all represented in Spirits.
Also, custom moves were fun, even if most of them were inferior or the occasions of a missed opportunity. That only Mii fighters have alternate move sets is pretty disappointing and kind of insulting. The only really bad part of custom moves was tracking them all down randomly, slowly.
Lastly, Smash 4's All-Star is WAY better than Ultimate's.

huh, neat. you probably watched a video of mine in the past, like the skylanders video, or the hollow knight video-- maybe look back at the channel and see where potentially you came from
I do miss these! But think about how much work it would be if you made new posters for literally all of the characters in the game. Not sure why they stopped making these for Ultimate either but maybe it was budget restraints. (But then that raises the question of why only Inkling and Min Min got posters and no other Nintendo newcomer did...)

I can't believe I forgot about the posters! Besides that, I do have interests in wondering how would each newcomer's posters look. This is also coming from someone who loves the trailers and practically all of the Ultimate's newcomers one way or another.
Smash Run is super fun, and it's real shame that it not only didn't show up in the Wii U version of Smash 4 but also was left out of Ultimate. We'll probably never see the likes of it again.

THIS is why Bandee should be in smash. The official Kirby Twitter posts artwork now and then and if Bandee (or any Kirby character) gets in Smash you KNOW they'll have a piece ready to go! Its not like the ones in Smash 4 but hey, its atleast a 3rd one for Ultimate...

Well at least Smash Ultimate was animated reveals for the all the DLC characters...
thats absolutely true-- but keep in mind that aside from only a few outliers, the DLC characters from reveal to release were hella quick, unlike in Smash 4. it also helps that Smash 4 had 2 years of updates and info to carry it, rather than the... 6 months Ultimate had prerelease
